Poll Question:
Sylvan Townscreen [vote part 1]
The first vote from a two phase vote to decide how the Sylvan Townscreen will look like. Scenery, atmosphere, you name it, fans will have their say. You can find the vote page here - Link.
Beginning today, a new vote is starting, different from any made in the past: you are the ones who will decide for the global atmosphere of the Sylvan Townscreen! This vote will be splitted in two:
- The first one, which begins right now, will decide for the scenery and the general setting of the townscreen. Please check below to discover the two options and more details about this vote!
- The second one, which will begin right after this one will focus on the lighting and ambiance of the Townscreen."
First vote will be about the general setting of the Townscreen, and we get two options:
The Forest Sanctum
Hidden in the heart of the Forest Maze of Irollan, this Sylvan city is a majestic temple dedicated to the Earth Goddess. The temple melds with the surrounding wildlife, a true example of the harmony Elves strive to achieve.
The Tree Island
This gigantic, millennia-old tree shelters many life forms, and the Elven city was built directly in its branches and roots, becoming part of its ecosystem. This proposal is very similar in spirit to the Heroes V Sylvan townscreen.
What's your take on it?

I've voted for Sanctum in hope that we'll get more of a wild tree scenery. A tree in the middle of an island feels a bit odd. A lush savage forest would leave plenty of space to work with.
But to be honest I don't understand the Sanctum artwork that well. Is it the peak of a tree with more forest bellow? Or where are the trees on the sides then?

The "Forrest Sanctum" seems nicer to me too. I was not particularly fond of the H5 sylvan town concept which is the same as the "Tree island".

Voted for Sanctum because we already had the tree in H5, and while it certainyl looked stunning, it always felt a bit strange to me as well.

Hmmm... the first one looks like it should belong in Lotlorien, while the other one looks like it would belong in Mirkwood. (My views on how they should look like are based purely on books, rather than the visual representation in the hobbit/lotr moviews) Since the fury lineup is more along the lines of Mirkwood I suspect, the tree island makes more sense. I personally think deer live in forests rather than in sanctums, no matter magical or not, so the H5 reminiscent fits the lineup more.
Also, the sanctum looks seem much more fitting to creatures such as unicorns, pegasi and phoenixes/moonixes which are absent from the lineup, therefore I pick the tree.

The island has me hooked thanks to H5, and it's epic music, but I understand the other option and I'm keeping my mind open on this.

My choice is "Tree Island", even thought I like the second option it feels a little bit too similar to "Aion" or "Lineage" (It's irrational, but I cannot help it). I'm not fond of that kind of graphic style .

The sanctum seems more highelf-ish and I get the woodelf vibe from the lineup.

Voted for the Forest Sanctum. Actually I am a bit surprised about the favor for the Island Tree, which is far ahead of the Forest Sanctum at the moment. But I realise the town screen from Heroes V looked very good, so I guess people have that in mind when they vote.
