Fallout 2, the best game ever maid.
Ahh i remember the old days.
I was walking around with my char which was named Boris in the old Military Base.
All was fine, and the mutants on the first level gave litle or none resistance. Me and my group of warriors and Lenny ( heīs special ) took the elevator down to level -2.
We encountered some resistance in the begining but not much, then we proceded to the area where the Mutants had their stronghold. Sudently 5? or was it 4 mutants rush out of the door and start flaming , lasering and shoting uss. We resist but it doesnīt seem to help to much. In one hit one of the mutants roasts Lenny and the Tribal guy and leaves nothing but ashes. Me and the sheriff start advancing as good as we can. I snipe a critical headshot on one of the mutants and he falls to the ground. "BAnzai" i scream so that the entire house shakes . but our success is short, one of the mutants fires his laser gun and shoots me so i fall into 2 parts. The classical video message of you lying ded in the desert comes upp... and I figure I havenīt saved since 6 hours. Hahaha
I donīt know if any of you guys (and ladies if there are any who play F2 ) have some expiriences to share from at least in point the best, largest and most controversial game in the world.
PS: sorry for my english, itīs late

I suggest you don't go to the Military Base at experience level three.

Damn, I love this game too.. Itīs one of those games where you always manage to find something new no matter how many times have you played it before...
I hope they wonīt screw up making Fallout3.

Not a chance, smartarse
And Fallout 3 will most probably be a letdown. What we know about it so far is:
-SPECIAL (+)
-FPP (-)
-real time combat (-)

Depends on what you prefer, however Torment does everything extremely well and has the best storyline I've ever played in an RPG, with detailed, proper NPCs in your party and a really different sense of what your mission is. Fallout 2 just doesn't sorry

What I didn't like in Torment was that I couldn't just walk around in peace for two minutes because I was constantly attacked by some stupid guys. Plus, one of my first quests involved going underground to some guy, with hordes of hostile people on the way. I mean, how the hell am I supposed to kill them all? I ran through the crowds and the flying skull person was constantly getting stuck behind. If that's your idea of a good game, then I'm outie.

No, you just don't understand the different styles, I don't think I've ever been in that situation in Torment, so you're clearly screwing up somwhere along the way
People fail to appreciate Torment because they all to often try to treat it like BG or don't approach it in the right way at all, not giving it the time needed. Torment's as close as you'll get in single player to a proper roleplaying game, ie you have proper NPCs, proper plot, and quests that you don't just complete by killing everything in sight . Approach it like Fallout or BG and you'll never appreciate it's subtleties.
Sorry, but Fallout's a great game, but it will never compare to the depth of RPing in Torment
