Heroes and Horses
I though there was already thread about it but couldnt find it so i made a new thread
What about different horses we all have seen that there r different horses like that hero riding on a zebra ( he must really watch out for hungry lions  )
some different horses idea
Pegasus let your heroe fly
nightmare uhm let your hero looks cool  j/k dont know anything
Dragon Horse Have almost the shape off an normal horse but with dragon head ,tail and legs
Unicorn give your hero some magic resistance... (the resistant aura) ( from preserver)

i have suggested this once already today so i might as well suggest once more...will it b cool of there is a place that u can hire or purchase these rides?? i mean something like a stable that u can purchase dragons, pegusus, and even zebras?? something like the machine shop in heroes already??
what cha think??

...can't it be that starting low-level heroes have no mode of transportation, and have to reply on walking, until they can afford or earn a horse or something?

that would be realistic but i don't know if it would be good for the game... (the implementation I mean) ...if it's done correctly I'm in..

Well, the latest screen shots have shown that at least visually, each town's horse will look different on the adventure map, so looks like part of the wish has already come true.
As far as combat bonuses in battle, well, it also appears that our faithful heroes still prefer to fight on foot ...the ninnies! So, it doesn't really matter what they ride across the map on...
Pity, because, although it might be tricky to implement, it might be fun to see your Knight couching his lance and charging like a souped-up Champion. Of course, that opens the whole can of worms about hitpoints, etc for the mount, and the truly unfortunate prospect of being unhorsed (or un-zebra'd) in battle.

good idea...
now that is something i would like to see... heroes fighting on horsebacks (creaturebacks anyway)...
...ofcourse it's a little late for HoMM4... oh,well, there is always time for HoMM5...

i am afraid it's unrealistic to expect that heroes will fight on horseback and all the realistic nuances that go with it, including ability to attack the mount or the rider, choosing different weapons, etc, before homm goes 3d. and maybe that kind of realism will be unrealistic to expect even in 3d.

I kinda like the idea of buying better horses. Why don't change the stables (they were giving extra movement till the end of the week) to buying horses(or something else you can ride on).

yeah, I'm with you, but like someone else said, the rider and the horse are one sprite, they would have to draw new ones, etc. Maybe for an expansion pack???

Not every hero appears to have a horse.. The blonde Mage girl in red robes stands in combat.. Unless they made it every hero gets off their horse during combat.
About the horses, zebras, pegasi etc.. I love that idea. But they should make it randomized, or certain named heroes always get special horses. Like in H3 how every hero had some unique ability, make it certain heroes have unique horses. I love the idea that Pegasi can fly, if the hero rides one.
I don't want to see all heroes start on foot. That's just annoying. Maybe have different kinds of stables all around so that you can upgrade your own regular horse into them.

not only does the hero gets to buy different kind of rides the heores can also buy different quality of horse/rides as well...such as mule to start off and later stallion for the best?? or even warhorse...the rest is up to our imagination...
what cha think

i think no hero is riding on the combat screen, and that the horseman in the combat screens is a chevalier/champion.
and i think it's a bad idea, if the hero has a horse, he should also have a horse on the battlefield. the alternative is just quite absurd imho.
