Green and purple stars
does anyone know what the deal is with purple and green stars?

No! There are at least five kinds of stars - generic Red and Yellow, then Purple, Green and Black.
The Purple ones are supposed to be below yellow ones - but, you cannot see even yours count for some strange reasons. So, I really don't know what they signify - I suppose they were custom - you could set as many as you wish (limited by 10 or so) - like custom status or avatar. Obviously, they were excluded bcause of unusefulness.
The Green stars and can be seen only by mods and are used by them for some their purposes. It signifies smth like quality of play - better player has more. They are private info because such things are difficult to determine.
Probably, there are also Grey stars - spamming ability. But it is doubtful.
And the Black stars are used only by Admin - even moderators don't see them. I don't know what it signifies for Valeriy, but you'd better not to have it...
P.S. Hey Shepicker... If you've seen such things... It's really a bug in the forum. Or do you know a mod password?
P.P.S. For new members: Red stars are quality points - given by mods. Yellow ones are for postcount. See FAQ for details.

Basicly I made this thread as more of a joke than anything.
I thought if red is quality than green must be absence of quality; same concept for yellow and purple it was nothing serious behind it all. Probably ive got about one black star by now ...

You've missed two kinds of stars in your list.
1) Invisible stars. They are everywhere and are very hard to notice. Signify various things based on interpretation of the observer.
2) Distant stars. They are actually distant suns. Visible when browsing HC on a clear night next to an open window. They must represent something only to gods. Maybe this universe is a giant rating system for some unimaginably huge Heroes Community, and we've just accidentally appeared on one of the "pixels" of a yellow star of one of the divine spammers...

i think thath valery is trying to disguise somthing like the man in black. thare is relly stars of such colors but they dont wanna to us know it

Strangely, but after such things I see only ordinary stars through the hole, and only if it's night and no clouds... Or a single star, but very large...

ah yes... the dreaded 404...
