Once Upon a Time.....A New Story Unfolded
Welcome all to the land of stories and make-believe...kinda. Actually this is the land of Once Upon a Time. A place where things you never thought would happen will and further more where you decide what those things are. If you've been at HC long enough than you know the stories of the past and the doors they opened. Ok, so the only thing that really happend were some raised post counts and a few laughs but that's what makes a thread great. right?
If you are new or you just don't follow what the hell I'm talking about than perhaps I should explain it better. In this thread the purpose is to create a story completly from scratch that all comes out of your deranged minds. A couple lines will do but you don't have to limit yourselves. Try to stay at least somewhat on-topic. Always watch what the last post said so you don't totally screw it up. The final rule is to have fun. So, without further ado I'll open the book and let the story begin...
Once upon a time...
in a land quite far from your own lived some people. These people lived a pretty happy life without much bother from anything unusual. Day after day they lived, worked, and played always with a thought of happiness in their heads.

Those nearby the stranger grew silent. A few women smoking meat on a high rack above a smoldering fire drew to their feet, and wandered a little nearer. The men from the smithshop saw a small crowd gathering. They put down their tools, wiped their hands, and came closer to see what the disturbance was.
"Curse???"
The happy people looked curiously at one another and uttered this word, curse, as though they had never heard it before. They lived in a remote little village where stangers seldom came, and were quite isolated from the complex goings on of the world beyond their familiar surroundings.
"Yes," the stranger replied. "A curse. Powerful forces are at work in the land beyond. Strange mystical beings are engaged in battle, and they seek to take control of your territory in their struggle..."
One of the people stepped forward, curtsied in her slightly worn velvet jade dress, and then politely asked the stranger:
"May it please you sir, my name is Maya. May I ask, who are you sir? And from what land to you hail? Why do these beings care about our little village? We have bothered no one and wish only to be left alone."
The townspeople all nodded to one another in a gesture of agreement with Maya's words. A small girl trotted up behind Maya, clutching her mother's dress in her tiny hands and peering around at the stranger.
The stranger stood silent for a moment, his gaze wandering purposefully down to the little girl's face. Their eyes met. The little one knew this stranger.
In a window overlooking the square where the people talked, a man sat in the shadows, listening. The man was tired and weathered, looking older than his years. In his hand was a long-stemmed pipe, whence he drew measured breaths of smoke as he listened. His eyes closed, he folded his arms. Slowly, he began shaking his head from side to side....

a small goblin like creature rushes through the corridors and enters a big room. 'I bring newss, ssire' it hissed.

A voice came from a high-backed throne that faced away from the goblin's approach, hiding the amorphous figure that lounged in it. Only a long, spidery gray hand could be seen dangling over the arm of the throne. The figure stayed silent, awaiting the news.
The goblin's long, purple forked tongue waved as he hisssssed.
"The child, ssssire!!!! He hassss found the child!!!!"

The goblin, obviously stressed about this question nerviously takes a few steps back. Sweat begins to bead down his rough face.

As Maya looked on, puzzled by the stranger's gaze at her daughter, the man in the window set his pipe in its rack, slowly stood, and began packing a few things in a bag...
Through the haze of dusk, in the darkness of his room, he carefully opened a small hatch in the floor and took out a black onyx box. Concealing it within a scarf, the man tucked it away deep in the bag, slung the bag over his shoulder, then stole quietly out the door.

Further in the desert where the land was barely habitable lied a small building made mostly of crude bricks and small pieces of wood. Inside however was much to be feared. The newly formed Council of Darkness formed a meeting to plan their takeover of the small countryside and soon the rest of the world. Some of the members recognized each other from another world domination group brought to ruin known only as S.H.I.T. Being an old group, most had forgotten what the name even stood for. No matter though, the Council of Darkness would soon be in charge...

Thank-you Peacemaker. I guess I should have followed Redsoxfan's old rules regaurding RMS.
Anyway, lets see if I can clean this up a bit...
"AHHH"...Jeromie, one of the children living in the small town woke up with a start. What an odd nightmare. Everyone dying? A prophesy? What did it all mean?
As he lied there thinking about all this the Council of Darkness were having their meeting.
"ok men...SHUT UP. You have all come here for one reason and one reason only. Before you I have displayed a map of the region of Horan. In the middle we have this small land..."
Before he could finish a member interupted him, "Does anyone really know what the 'ell it's even named?"

Well, it doesn't matter. We'll probably change to somthing evil sounding anyway. Somthing like...uh...hmm...oh maybe darkland or somthing to that extent. Anyway, what was I saying? Hmmmmmm...lost my train of thought. Screw it. Let's just blow the place up. No one will miss it anyway.
