As they watched from a hilltop as the massacre raged below in the village, Maya struggled mightily against the man's efforts to keep her subdued and muffle her screams.
"My baby! My baby!" her muffled sobs seeped through the muffling fingers of his big hand.
"Shhhhhhhhh! Quiet, woman!" He growled in a loud whisper. "It is not the child they seek to destroy! The child is safe with the Stranger!!!"
Maya stopped squirming and looked into the man's eyes...
"If not her, then who???" She asked him.
He exhaled, then said with resignation, "It was you they were after, this time...."
Maya drew away from his hands, her eyes narrowed.
"Why?" she asked with a measured voice through old tears. Her eyes drifted from his face, to the bag he'd been carrying as they had fled the village together, then she looked at him squarely again with a clear question in her expression.
"What is happenening here?????" Maya's gaze pierced his eyes.

'The time of death is upon us', replied the man.'Long ago, in a far away land, this horde of nomads was lead by a mighty warlord.Led by him, they conquered all the lands they crossed.As years went by, theyr growing empire stopped at the border of a small, but beautiful kingdom.Naturaly, the horde would rampage it and it would become part of the empire.But in the day when the invasion was prepared, a beautiful girl appeared in the warlord's tent.She was the doughter of the small kingdom's ruler.He offered her to marry the nomad warlord in exchange for theyr independence.The warlord agreed, but after theyr wedding night he was found dead.The raiders swore to avange theyr leader by killing the girl.But she escaped, and ever since thay have slayn all that were linked to the girl.In this bag, I have documents atesting that you are the direct descendant of the princess who killed her husband...'

Suddenly, the bag burst into flames. The leader of the council of darkness appeared and said "Ha! That fool Finneas Vilemar thinks he can kill me, when he saw himself the steps I took against death. Besides, it won't be long before I kill him," he said. Then he looked at the stranger. "He?! But he wouldn't. Unless..."His voice became nervous, "But no! Very well, I'll have to take things up a level." He looked at Maya. "Darn. You're the Child's mother, aren't you? You might be dangerous. But not as dangerous as him. Things are not going according to plan, but no matter. No force exists that might be strong enough to keep me from claming the Child's holy power," His voice became more confident, "These nomads offend me. Finneas Vilemar could never dream he could bring him into this world by starting the war. If I were him, I would seize my chance. But he is a fool. Finneas doesn't know who he is. Very well. My army may be destroyed, but, then again, it is not," with those words, he disappeared.
Suddenly, two Black Dragons swoop down onto the village. They kill the nomads. Maya asked the guard "What was that man talking about? And who is that stranger? Finneas Vilemar..." The guard answered "I don't know the first two answers, but as for Finneas Vilemar, he is not dead, but I wish he was. I can't believe he survived that battle... But he is a weak sort of Lich and that's how, probably. I bet the only way he must've convinced those nomads to attack in by inflaming their grudge against Gloriano... I think that Doctor Tot, the royal advisor, might know the answer." He glanced at the remains of the village. The black dragons seemed not to notice him or Maya. They were effectivly slaughtering the nomads. But where were the stranger and the child? The guard gave an involountary shudder, and felt that his assignment just got much, much harder. Maya also wondered what Doctor Tot would say, who the stranger was, what the evil man meant, but most of all, she hoped that her child was all right. She didn't care if her child retained his world-saving powers. All she cared about was her child returning to her safely.
They went to Gloriano Imperial Castle. There Doctor Tot said that

That's out of topic.
Anyway... Doctor Tot said "There can be no doubt that you are indeed the descendant of the one who killed the warlord. You are in grave danger. You," he turned to the guard,"Gemal, guard her. Make sure she doesn't leave the palace. This is a matter of national security."
"But my child-" said Maya.
"Will be taken care of soon enough-I mean that we will find out what happened and save him. The stranger can protect him but not forever. He must remeber the deal he made to our country. We will try to seek him out," cut across Doctor Tot.

The Child and the Stranger fled to a far away Desert known as Eastern Dryland. They came across a few foes, mostly Nomads and Goblins, but one day - they were attacked by a band of very skillful Bandits. A knife went into the stranger's back, "run child, and never look back" and so she did. The child ran and became a great survivor over 3 years, until it was time to go home.

a palace. She went inside. She went through many dark rooms until she went into a large room. In it sat the stranger and the leader of the Dark Council. "So glad you could join us," said the dark lord. "Remember what you promised," said the stranger. "Shut up, fool," said the dark lord. The child started to edge away.

All of a sudden, the room shook. The door opened and a Lich hurried in
"Milord, the Ogre Tribes and the Goblin Hords are attacking us. You must report to the main tower"
"All right" he said in a low voice. "Don't let her escape"

At that moment Dephran came with his armies and engaged the Ogres and Goblins from behind. He quickly left his army behind and rode into the dark palace. He ran an endless amount of stairs until he reached the top of the main tower.
