Back at the battle in Gloriano...
Nomad Leader: YOU! Maya! At long last I have the chance to kill you!
Lucifer Kreegan: Who asked you to come?
Nomad Leader: His Majesty the Dark Lord.
Dephran raised his sword. He stabbed the nomad leader.
Stranger: Thank you. That's one headache less, isn't it?
Dephran: I don't know what you mean. He is an enemy.
Stranger: Oh? Or did he just "outlive his usefulness"?
Maya: What?
Stranger: Dephran! Your cover is blown!
Lucifer Kreegan: Wait! How- you- but- no! M-master! Forgive me! Forgive us all!
Lucifer fell on his knees.
Stranger: FORGIVE! YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO ASK FOR FORGIVNESS!?
Finneas Vilmar strode in.
Dephran: You're dead.
Finneas Vilmar: A lich.
Dephran: A pathetic excuse for a lich.
Stranger: You're all here. Even the child. What could be better? Everything is going according to plan.
Finneas: M-master? Not possible...
Stranger: YOU FOOL! YOU DENY WHAT YOU SEE!
Finneas: I bow before you.
Stranger: Good. Now, if Dephran was as kind as to show his true form...
Dephran: WHAT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!
Stranger: Do you take me for a fool... Vazgart?
Dephran: Who's he?
Finneas: You dare lie to our master?
Stranger: Vazgart... otherwise known as the Dark Lord?
Dephran, or Vazgart, writhed and transformed into the Dark Lord.
Finneas: See! Master is always right!
Lucifer Kreegan: Indeed!
Vazgart: FOOLS! THE CHILD IS MINE, AND MINE ALONE! YOU BOW TO AND WORSHIP HIM, NAIVE ONES! KEEP DOING THAT, AND WAIT FOR THE MOMENT I DESTROY YOU ALL!

Stranger: We will have to go after him later. Now then, normally I would punish you two, Finneas and Lucifer, but now I have more important things on my agenda.
Finneas: Yes, Master.
Lucifer: Thank you, Master.
Stranger: Maya, your child is needed.
Maya: For what?! And who are you?!

the stranger suddenly begins to radiate, and takes the form of a slum dwelling entity. His cloak and tunic melted into the dirty rags of a homless man. The nondescript face turned into an unshaven, unwashed one.
Maya was shocked, and almost fell over herself. Feeling almost physically sick, she sat back up and dusted herself off. She must keep calm, she knows nothing of this creature she thought she had met. She was alert and just about to inquire when-
Hobo: Enough playing around. The person you thought i was doesnt exist. I am a hobo of eternity, and "the Dark Lord" is neither Dark, nor a Lord, but my master. Now that all is safe, i may reveal my true form. My master, His Homelessness, says this world is coming to an end.
Maya: An end? What is this?! Who are you? You are unwashed!
(Maya backs away wearily. She has had enough of this)
Hobo: A great war is coming. This war is great enough for our master to put down his mouldy sandwich and think of the child.
(the dirty, ragged stranger bears a blank look with no expression. he looks hungry.)
Maya: why do you insist on referring to her as "the child"? you are crazy. i will speak no more with you.
(Maya cannot stand the stench or the stupidity no longer. She turns to walk away. She will go nowhere with someone of his likeleness)
Hobo: The child must come with me. Those are my orders. The war will wreak too much havoc for this pitiful world to withstand. Too much power will be released, without boxes to absorb the energy, and this plane will simply cease to exist. The child must be saved, if anything. I will use all in my power to take her, if she will not come willingly.
(His eyes glow red, but there is still no expression. The room begins to tremble. The hobo pulls out a somewhat stale looking sandwich from his jacket pocket)
Maya: How do you know this, recreant Derolict?! You will not take her alive! Guards!
(and with that, the door burst open, and the Stranger they thought they knew burst in, looking rather bedraggled-)
Maya: WHAT IS GOING ON!
Stranger: STOP HIM!!!
(and the Hobo...)

Hobo: Maya, you are making a big mistake.
Lucifer Kreegan: Am I to understand that we have been tricked? You are not our master?
Hobo: Of course not.
Finneas: It is time to make his life hell... if you know what I mean, Lucifer.
Lucifer: You hobo! Where is my master?!
Hobo:
Here, never to return,
Drowning, longing to burn,
Starving, wanting to diet,
Rioting, and that's a riot.
Lucifer: I don't want a riddle! Where's my master?!
Hobo:
Dying, being reborn,
Fighting, while clamped in stone,
Cracking, without a bone,
Resting, without a home.
Lucifer: Very well. Prepare for great pain.
He raised his sword.
