Stack

MuadDib's quote from RoundTable: "Stacks: I answered yes before, and that means we cant resonably have more then 1 figure for each stack."
If I understand correctly in Heroes V possibly will be only 1 creature per slot? If so I am very glad and not because of reality but because of gameplay. MuadDib I think You already played Disciples 1 or 2. If not I suggest You to play. Possibility to see what can be Heroes with 1 creature per stack. But Disciples sux because of combat system. Some things will become more clrearily and logicaly. For example: healing will be cool skill, creature expirience and upgrade system (like in Disciples). I think in the questionare almost all people picked variant "let stacks work as in earlier versions" just becuse they don't know how good can be without hordes of creatures.

Hot Seat

Another MuadDib's quote from RT: "Hot seat mode: I'm certain we will probably implement it."

"probably"??? I am a programmer and I don't think there too much additional job to implement it. I guess You are not TRUE HoMMer It is definetely must have feature like multiplayer at all. Btw I think it's enough reason to make hot seat is even for You - game developers to test the game. For map designers - must have mode.

Lack of hot-seat made Etherlords a game much worse than it could be, simply because I was left unable to play the game with my friends.

Don't do it to HoMM. Seriously, don't.

lol, i don't think he meant one creature per stack. he said 'figure' and i think this could be interpreted as 'one figure will represent a stack of many creatures.'

in homm3 there was the same upgrade system for all creatures.

in homm4 there were no creature upgrades, same kind of creature choice for all creature levels, all creatures had at least one special ability, magic and alignment were put into a pentagram system, etc.

i am somewhat curious to know what the homm5 developers think of those tendencies? do they want to put things into more systematic frames or do they think that they would rather like to relax those constraints?

Simultaneous Movement

Quote: "We thought about simultaneous movement on adventure map, it will be used to some extent. The objective being to have shorter and more interesting multiplayer games."

Please tell more about this.

I have a question,
I know you will do your best to make HOMM5 run on most machins, but i'd like to know the minimum requirements to play it, my PC is not quite state of the art you know, and i'd to know if i should start savong money or not.

The most essential question

How can we contribute?

Please, please, please tell us to what stage of developement the game has progressed? Are the towns/creatures already determined? (and a dream question: What towns? Is there gonna be Inferno town?)

Do you have the storyline already? Where should we post storyline alternatives or something?

Will you again take some old heroes to the new game?
I would be happy to see some of my favourites, Neela, Tazar, Alkin, Bron, Sandro or Mephala, e.g.

Well, what about buildings and creatures? I for myself would apreaciate a lot of buildings for town so u arent finished that early. Also I would like to see many creatures (both, town-alligned and neutral in high numbers)

Maybe you could have a look on H3WoG? U could see there what fans like and maybe get some further ideas?
Also here are some threads where players created their own creatures (e.g. those two http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?FID=6&TID=12825http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?FID=6&TID=12579)

edit:
Oh, allmost forgot: I LOVED ur town-artwork, I hope u keep on this and maybe improve I liked the one at the river best  But... the creatures u've shown so far look a bit cartonny-style, u know, big feet small heads.. not that my taste
for towns, Daystar here had a indeed cool idea that got improved throu this thread here: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?FID=5&TID=12917. There are alot cool ideas for towns (e.g. mention the tomb and atlantis/water/ocean-town - and this semi-town idea that afaik came up in the ocean/water town thread. So.. I think the fans give lots of material to inspire there heroes

edit2:
Oh and one thing: Will u bring back the foprtress(swamp) town with its lizards, wyverns and the cute dragonfly? also, Hydra would have more fitting home then pliiiiiiiiiiiiz!!

I think some of the questions has got answers. Hmmm probably those who asked the questions are aware in most cases of this too. But I'll put down the answers here anyway.

Xenopahnes/Daddy:
About heroes. New game world and from the things I've read, no heroes will be transferred across as it stands now. (If you want you can start a thread on which hero to save if you can save only one, but please be realistic. New world means most heroes have to go.)

ZhukaSS:
Game has been announced, around the 29th of March 2005. Screenshots are coming along.

This is from a thread made by Muad Dib on the new Ubisoft  Heroes 5 Might & Magic forums:

Quote:

I’m Fabrice, producer at Ubisoft. Most of you should have encountered me in the main community forums last year. Its been a loong time since I posted anything around. But what we were all waiting for is now just around the corner...

Heroes of Might & Magic 5 has been officially announced by Ubisoft !

What can be said at this time ? Well I can summarize by stating that the years to come will be the best for fans of the Might & Magic brand, just like the previous ones were the best for fans of the Lord of the Ring. Many things are building up ! On Heroes 5 specifically, we have passed half of the development cycle, and are now gathering speed, toward a release early next year. It seem far away, but we’ll be there very quickly, and there is much to do. We are investing a lot of time in this project, with many people involved in the team and around the team. Its really showing in the versions we are testing now.

This will be Ubisoft’s first take on the brand, and I hope it will live up to the legacy !

Dingo:
The basic game will have six towns.

mskomu:
Latest news I saw was that the game is "playable", and has been for a few months. See also the announcement above.

Asmodean:
I think I've seen talk about beta testing during this summer. As you have noticed some screen shots have been published and we could expect more after E3, 17-20 May.

About the music. Rob King will compose for Heroes 5. (Think there was someone asking about that.)

Anyway, feel free to continue posting questions.

uNTIL NOW; ALL HEROES parts had something common with a Might&Magic part. (for ex: HoMM 3/MM6,7,8?; HoMM4/MM9)

Is there going to be something common with MM9, or perhaps a new MM will be based on HoMM5? or shall we say goodbye to the RPG line????

(Hope the tradition will not be broken with the new Episode of the SERIES!!!!)

Celestial Heavens asked about this a few weeks ago. Check out the link below. Speculation is that the second title might be a Might and Magic title but nothing is confirmed. The article is the latest info we have now.

Interview

From the article:
Quote:
When do you expect to tell us a little more about that second title under the Might and Magic brand? Can you at least tell us if it's the Chinesse MMORPG?

Cant tell. Hint : it is NOT the Chinese MMO. There are many more things behind the curtain that you can imagine. (yes, you can start drooling :Ž)

Edit:

The interview also had this on the beta test:

Quote:
The next step, beyond comments on the released elements of course, will be the beta test. It is planned later this summer. There will only be a limited number of seats !

Top.

Heroes III and IV

I have a lot of ideas to improve Heroes III and IV. In my opinion, you can ask money for the upgrades you can make with them. (unless H5 is so good no-one ever wants to play H3 and 4 again).

Will there be such projects after the Heroes V project (or during that)?

OK, I might just as well ask a question myself:

So far, Heroes 5 looks like a mixture of Heroes 3 and and original features. Why have the developers decided to ignore most of the features introduces first in Heroes 4? Because the Nival crew are Heroes 3 fanboys or they didn't want to risk? Perhaps it was Ubi's concept?

Edit (Djive): Removed the spam avove and your reply to it, just keeping the question.
