Familiar Face

*while taking a short break while sitting near a fallen log, MM and Kaylianna were deep in conversation. I decided to spend some time in thought when a sudden voice broke my concentration*

Crook: What HAVE you been up to down there? Have you progressed any?

*Opening my eyes I found myself once again in Crook's palace in the celestial realm. Sighing I answered him*

Gorman: It's going to take TIME your greatness. I thought time was nothing to god's!

Crook: I have a reputation to keep. And time is nothing, I just don't want to have to go to my godly meetings and see Forsaken Freaks up there or what ever they call themselves now.

Gorman: When you said you empowered my sword....would it kill one of the Forsaken Ones?

Crook: Well...not out right kill them. It will definatley put alot of hurt on them. It'd be like having a mountain dropped on you if you know what I mean. You wouldn't be able to budge it and feel the pain for the rest of your days.

Gorman: I see. I'll take that as a good thing to make the damned suffer for what they do unto other's.

Crook: Yes indeed. They'll be suffering all right when the job's done. Now get back to work, be sure to tell that mage how useful that sword arm of yours will be when you come across the surprise that's gaurding his family jewels! Hahaha! Oh I crack myself up sometimes!

*I can still hear his laughter as I revert myself back to the natural world. MM is looking at me intently and asks...*

MM: So...did you have a nice nap?

Gorman: Wonderful nap, actually my god had a few words he wanted to tell me and even some information for you MM.

MM: *looks at me surprised* What? Information for me?

Gorman: Well, first and foremost, to trust my sword, it'll be alot more reliable than you might think. And secondly, there's a surprise of some sort waiting for us when we find your gem.

Kaylianna: Great! I LOVE surprises!

RSF and Dingo made great time with the help of RSF's newly charged staff. They made their way down the Spam River and followed it to a familiar road that went south across the Plains of Woock, through the Middle Forest arriving at a Tavern with a fork in the road. It was nostalgic remembering all the old times during and just after the Great Spam War. What a waste of time that war appeared to be now. It was nothing compared to the importance of this Forsaken War. This war would be fought by a mere handful of beings on both sides unlike the wasteful massive losses that took place only a few months ago. The Forsaken Ones could not be beaten by superior numbers. Mortals could not kill such immortals.

Dingo: "I want to go in. I remember the awesome parties we had there. That place was the best."

RSF: (sarcasm) "Yeah. Great Parties."

Dingo: "What are you talking about they were the best. I'm going in."

RSF: "Go in if you must. I'm headed for the Order Fort. Meet me there when you are done wasting your time on Memories Way."

RSF was never able to enjoy those parties in the Tavern. He was always too busy planning the next attack, too busy mourning over what he thought was himself murdering his friend and amazingly enough he had saved his life, subconsciously. He never associated those parties as being the best. He always envied them for being able to enjoy themselves. It seemed that RSF was never all that happy with much of anything in life, not ever since he lost Sheila, since he lost his best friend. RSF always kept quiet about this and no one ever seemed to notice; take for example, Dingo didn't remember that RSF never got to enjoy those parties.

Deimos, Dean, Dervol, and Vadskye walked out of the inn. The people were already lumbering around dazedly. Only one was not. It was Hans. Hans walked to the group.
Hans: What have you mages and magag done?!
Deimos: It's magog, and we haven't done anything! It's the Forsaken Ones!
Hans: It's not funny! We're dying, and you're telling us fairy tales!
Dervol: Mr. Hans, Forsaken Ones are not fairy tales.
Hans: Fine! I'll believe what you say if you cure my headache!
Dervol: It probably has something to do with the Forsaken Ones.
Deimos: All right, Hands, we'll help you.
Hans: MY NAME IS HANS!
Deimos: Whatever. Anyway, Dean, if we meet Garthamel and/or Illyria, I have a plan.

Headache? What was the man babbling about?
My healing spells were easily strong enough to cure a headache, so I wove them without thought. Hans touched his head in wonder.
'It's gone!' he said.
I just snorted in derision.
'Deimos we are wasting TIME. We can not stay here playing doctor at our leisure. And any plans you usually come up with involve burning, or freezing, or some other nonsense. You can explain on the way but we have to leave NOW!'

With that I turned and summoned four griffins, yanking them out of the void so fast that one of them, gave an indignant squawk and fixed me with a baleful eye.
Deimos could ride that one.

We mounted up, and Hans scrabbled up behind Deimos.
Fine.
If he wanted to take in strays they better pull their weight though, or I'd leave him by the side of the road sharpish.

'Let's fly!' I said, and my griffin took off.
When we were in the air I steered my mount to fly beside Deimos' and wove a communication spell so that our words wouldn't be lost in the rushing wind.

'Okay hotshot - what's your big plan?'

It was dark, as was usual in this forest.  God, it had been years since I had even thought of this forest.  Better yet, the fog over in the distance grew thicker.  Unusual for it to be gathered in one location like that.  Never the less we have to continue forward if we intend on taking back what was lost.  Thoughts fresh on my mind of what was ahead.  If I knew Gorman's god well enough that surprize could end up being somthing very bad.  That sword.  How can I put my trust in a sword.  I had been raised to do that very thing.  My sister died by the blade.  The very blade my parents swore their dragon slaying life to.  I hated that life.  That's why I became a mage.  That's why I swore myself to the Order.  I swore I would bring peace.  I swore I would above all protect that which was my duty to protect.  I have failed in both of my endeavors but I intend on correcting that.  That is MY mission.  Gorman, the accidental angel.  He is here for a similar reason.  He intends to fix that which he did wrong.  And Kaylianna.  She is a fine woman and a strong mage.  A little insecure but she seems dedicated.  I think to myself as we walk what would have been had I left Woockland after peace had been restored.  I suppose RSF would have still did what he had done.  My guess is that the release of the Unholy One was inevitable.  It was as if the very moment RSF and I neared each other somthing happened.  How was I to know he carried the fabled Earth's Tooth.

OoC: Daystar, make that post in the LHW OoC thread plz. It's there for the purpose of creating new character's and such. TY

BiC: *While we were walking and MM was thinking to himself we came across what was either the end of the woods or a large field. I noticed a shape that seemed to be floating up in the air at least 50 feet up*

Gorman: MM, I'd hate to interupt your train of thought but is it rather odd for a staff to be floating in mid-air?

*MM looks up and a smile starts to spread it's way across his face. He almost starts running towards it when I quickly jerk him back*

Gorman: Fool! Remember my god's warning! As awkward as he can be sometimes he usually is correct about there being danger about!

*MM scowls darkly at me but Kaylianna's eyes widen and she gives a little gasp as the wind suddenly kicks up nearly knocking them off their feet by the sudden blast of air*

Kaylianna: What's going on MM? What's happening?

MM: *shaking his head* I'm not sure...it feels like the very air itself is attacking me. Forcing us back as though the air had hands!

*It did indeed feel as though the air had grown hands and was punching us back into the forest. Curious as to what could possibly be doing such a feat I dug into my bag of Holding and withdrew a pair of what appeared to be ordinary spectacles*

MM: Reading glasses? This is no time for games darn it!

*Ignoring him as I slid them to a comfortable position they revealed what was once invisible to the naked eye*

Gorman: *gasping* Air Elementals! There must be HUNDRED's of them! They keep coming out of that blasted wand of yours! Like it's a portal of some sort from their plane to ours! This must have been the surprise that knuckle head Crook was talking about!

Kaylianna: MM! How do we combat these things?

MM: Hang on! I have an idea!....

Landing on the edge of the forest I sent the griffins away and looked at the trees.
Of course I saw nothing, that was the worst thing. You never saw them until too late.
I had filled the others i about Shromerish as well, and Dervol had come up with a good plan.

Activating his invisibility cloak, Vadskye ghosted ahead of us to find the way.
Dervol, concentrating, gestured in front of us and I felt the tingle of magic being used.

In front of us now stood perfect illusions of Dervol, Deimos, Hans and myself. I could see the strand of spirit that tethered my image to me, so that it would reflect my movements. We walked forward carefully, and our illusions did the same.

Vadskye came back and said 'All clear so far, let's move in slowly ok?'

We moved in slowly....

Dingo:  All right then, I’ll get some breakfast and meet up with you in a couple of hours.

RSF walked off in the direction of the Order Fort.  Something seemed to be bothering him.  Dingo then caught the scent of bacon and eggs.  He walked into the familiar tavern and sat down at the counter.

Dingo:  Innkeep, is breakfast ready yet?

Innkeep:  Dingo, haven’t seen you in a while.  How are you doing?

Dingo:  I’m fine.  Hungry though.

Innkeep:  You came just in time.  Breakfast is almost ready.  This morning we are having…

Dingo:  Bacon and eggs, my favorite.

Innkeep:  That’s right.  Here is a cup of coffee to get you started.  I’ll be right out with your food.

The Innkeep quickly went back inside the kitchen.  Dingo sat there, gently sipping his coffee.  The room brought back memories of celebration and peace.  Over in that corner was where Vadskye broke the chair and there was a burn mark from Deimos, practicing his magic on the wall.  It seems like it all happened yesterday.  Hopefully again, there would be parties here, celebrating peace, no more War.  It then hit Dingo; another War is currently going on.  The Forsaken Ones are planning to take over the world; only more War could stop them.  Dingo sat there, not noticing that a stranger had sat next to him.  Dingo noticed the presence of someone to his left.  He peered over at the unknown person.  The shape of his body was very familiar.  Then Dingo saw his face.

Dingo:  Dragon_Slayer?  But you’re dead.

Dingo poked who he thought was Dragon_Slayer.

Dingo:  Your physically here, your alive.  How could…

Isildur:  I am not Dragon_Slayer.  He was my uncle.

Dingo:  Sorry about poking you.  I am Dingo.  What brings you here?

Vadskye tried to ignore the noises behind him.  He needed to concentrate on the noises in front of him.  Suddenly, he noticed something odd.

Vadskye: "Hey, over there-it looks like a spear!"

Dean: "Hey, you're right.  How'd that get there?"

Vadskye walked over to it.

Vadskye: "It looks like it was thrown from over there...  And look!  The underbrush was disturbed!"

Dervol: "So we're not alone?"

Vadskye: "It seems unlikely the spears would come flying out of nowhere at empty trees, doesn't it?"

Dervol: "True."

Vadskye: "And what's this?  They were armed!  A sword mark here, two staves..."

Dean: "The others?"

Vadskye: "The odds are against it, but we can't rule it out.  And we should watch out for flying objects, too."

*thunk*

Vadskye: "?"

Hans: "Ah!"

Dean whirled to face Hans.  Vadskye looked too, and saw that he had been hit by a spear.  Fortunately, it only hit his arm, but he was pinned to the tree and obviously in great pain.

Hans: "ARGH!"

Dean: "Quiet!"

Vadskye realized that Hans was, after all, an ordinary human and not accustomed to pain.  He wouldn't shut up.  Vadskye cast a Muffle spell on him to prevent further projectiles from flying at them.  Unfortunately, it was too late for their illusions.  They were quickly pierced with the mysterious spears.

Vadskye: "Everyone slump down like you're     !"

When they followed instructions, the illusions appeared to die right in front of Vadskye's eyes.  He jumped down too and soon the illusions had "died".

Dean: "What is it?"

Vadskye: "Our illusions look like pincushions right now.  Dervol, you'll need to sever our tie to them.  But don't let them dissapear.  Now, whoever was throwing the spears is probably going to come and get their prizes.  What should we do now?"

RSF finally had reached his destination, a clearing in the thick forest gave way to a mountain side of sparce trees and brush. All the hidden entrances were now visible as day especially one in particular that seemed to have been altared, since the treaty to have two massive doors leading underground. He decided to go through these.

He pushed on the door to find it unlocked and not actually fully closed. The Fort was completely abandoned as he expected. All the tapestries, trinkets, and little ornamental pieces that had given the inner sanctum had been looted. It appears that no one had been here for months.

He found himself in the Throne room where long ago he had fought the sword possessed by Wolfman, where the final truce was called. It seems almost ironic that such an unlikely truce had been called. Had it not been called, RSF would not have gone mad and MightyMage would have returned to the Royal Order. Asmodean would have never been returned to his human form and the remnants of the Order Party and Chaos Party would have likely been killed. The Unholy One would have plagued the land without contest likely gaining hold of the magical gems releasing the other Forsaken Ones himself. The truce led to RSF turning Dingo into a God, it led to the forming of a strong alliance out of necessity. This alliance was the only one possible that could stand up to the Forsaken Ones let alone survive. RSF shuddered at the fact that his evil ways had somehow been beneficial in the inevitable war that would have taken place against the Forsaken Ones.

RSF wondered yet again if all those events in his life during the Great Spam War had been swayed, so that he would nearly kill his friend and think that he had killed him. That those mad thoughts had been put into his head and were then taken away once the Forsaken Ones were released. That having them released in the way that they were was the best possible scenario for defeating them. And even stranger yet, the beast that had saved his life, an undead dwarf? Surely all this could not be coincidence.

RSF found himself still standing in the Throne Room. The sunlight was pouring in through one of the hidden windows. It must have been mid-morning by now. RSF clears his mind of the disturbing thoughts that had distracted him from his business. He had to retrieve his personal Tome of Spells handed down through his generations.

Walking through the halls, going in and out of rooms, he realized that he was standing in what used to be his quarters. It through him off being so empty and the room being of generic size and shape. But he saw exactly what gave it away. There were two large floor to ceiling bookshelves, both empty. But one book sat on the top shelf.

RSF climbed to the top and reached out his hand towards the book. The book moved to avoid being grabbed. RSF smiled. This was his Tome. RSF swung his hand around and the book jumped off the shelf landing on the floor.

Carefully climbing down, RSF prepares a haste spell as strong as he can. The charges on his staff most certainly help him. The spell is cast and RSF dives on the book. The book darts to the side. RSF quickly gets to his feet. The book is now hovering dancing in the air like a bee. No one but a powerful time mage could ever get this book. It took several minutes but RSF finally managed to corner it under in one of the bottom shelves. Even then it was difficult to get his hands on. He was still weak, not even close to full strength. He used to be able to walk up to the book, bend over and pick it up, before the book even began to move. Once he had a firm hold over the Tome, which was not easy, since the book could still spin him around on his back or stomach if he did not take an athletic stance, he spoke two words and the book ceased all movement. He placed the book into his pack and left his old home to meet up with Dingo.

OOC: I made a bit of a description of Woockardo through the eyes of RSF. I hope you don't mind. If so I'll simply edit it out.

RSF: "Try to act friendly or at least non-threatening. Better yet, maybe you should just stay outside. I'll be back shortly with Dingo."

Woockardo grunts in response to RSF who is beginning to learn Woockardo's mannerisms. That grunt was as close as that undead dwarf will ever get to being cooperative.

The time mage strides inside and immediately spots Dingo conversing with... RSF stops short in his tracks and stares at the man.

RSF: "Dragon Slayer. You must be Dragon Slayer's son. I sent out the news to his relatives and now you have finally come. I assure you he was buried with the most careful anointing and burial rituals. You must have so many questions. I assume that Dingo has told you everything."

Dingo: "Almost everything."

RSF: "Good then we must go."

Dingo: "You haven't had a minute of sleep or bite to eat since we left over a day ago. At least eat."

RSF: "You are right. Food will give me strength. Innkeep. I would like a few biscuits and some jerky."

Innkeep: "Yes, Sir."

The innkeep motions for RSF to come closer.

Innkeep: "I have important news that you should know of before you leave."

The innkeep leaves for the kitchen and returns handing RSF three biscuits and pouch of shredded jerky about a handful in size.

RSF: (whispers) "What did you need to tell me?"

Innkeep: (whispers) "Between the biscuits."

RSF looks down at his food and sees a piece of paper between the biscuits just as the innkeep said. He nods at the man handing him a large sum of gold and walks out of the Tavern with Dingo and... Dragon Slayer's heir. RSF had not asked of this man's name.

RSF: "Good, Sir. I apologize for my ruidness. My name is RSF. What do they call you?"

Isildur: "They call me Isildur and I am nephew to the great Dragon Slayer."

RSF: "Great he was. Let me bring you to his gravesite, so you can properly mourn your dearest Uncle."

Isildur: "I do wish to mourn, but vengeance and the retrieval of my family heirlooms are my true orders of business."

RSF: "Vengeance may be sweet to taste, but the more you pursue it, the more it will destroy every ounce of goodness in your being. It will consume you as so many I have seen in my life. I pray you to think twice before you commit such an act. There are others ways than vengeance to bring those responsible to justice. If only you knew the half of what has happened since your Uncle's death."

RSF tucks the note into one of his pocket apart from his meal. He pulls off a piece of his biscuit and places it in his mouth. He hasn't had a taste of decent food in weeks. He is overwhelmed by the wonderful taste of the food as well as the aching of his saliva glands from their lack of use. The three exit the Tavern. RSF looks up and sees the two undead beast swoop down landing in front of them. Isildur unsheathes his sword.

RSF: "Put down your arm, Isildur. Do not fear this man. This is Woockardo, he saved my life."

Woockardo: "I didn't save your life. You were some mage that was gonna die in my forest. How dare you do that?"

RSF: "This is the nephew of an old friend of mine who recently died in combat. We are bringing him to the grave."

The Jub-Jubs

I felt the surge of magic as Dervol severed us from our illusions and tied off the flows to that they would stay visible.
It would only be a matter of time before....yes.
There they were.

They were only 3 feet high, their skin was bright blue or green. They wore clothes that seemed made out of bark or leaves, with bone necklaces around their scrawny necks.
They had large teeth that seemed too big for their mouths, and as they moved I could hear them call to each other

'Jub! Jub-jub-jubba jub!'

'That's what we were afraid of?!' whispered Deimos incredulously.
'But they're so small! And....cute?!'

Small and cute they were, but no wizard would try and fight a Jub-Jub. They might be primitive, but they weren't stupid, and they possessed a racial ability that made sure no mage ever troubled them.
Casting a spell directly at them would leave a mage vulnerable.
Not only did the Jub-Jub's have an innate magic resistance, but they could steal a wizard's magic and control it themselves.
There were lots of stories about wizards being caught by the Jub-Jub's of Shromerish forest and held prisoner, their magic wrenched out of them and used for mundane uses, like one would use a work animal, or for hunting food, like hounds.

And they were by no means the most dangerous inhabitants of Shromerish forest...

'So...what do we do?' asked Vadskye. 'Do we fight or do we run?'

'We sit quiet and hope they leave those 'corpses' alone. If they discover they're illusions then we're in for trouble'.

Just as I spoke the lead Jub-Jub prodded my illusory body with his spear, and of course, it passed right through.
He immediately recoiled backwards and began waving his hands and chatering wildly.

'Jub-a-jub-jub. Jub-jub-jub-a!'

'What do we do what do we do what do we do!?' whispered Dervol. Her face had drained of blood and I could feel the build-ip of magic in her.
It was useless to use magic directly against a Jub-Jub, but she was scared.

'What's never been done before' I told her.

'We're going to talk to them..........'

"Well, what can you do?"

The shadow mage tensed, he was out of his league here. His mother was depending on him to gain power from the Motherdark so that they could get rid of her, but he was not one to cooperate kindly with those who could easily turn on him. For now, though, he would comply. With the new powers he would gain, he would pay those who cowered from the darkness back for the suffering those like them had caused, and he would destroy those who fought against it. His old friend most of all.

Shadowcaster jumped away from the queen of the Forsakens and thrust his hands into the air, his mother watching on proudly as he filled the room with darkness. Both his mother and his grandmother could still see through his shadow, but the latter's eyes still lit up at the realization of the shadow mage's talent.

"That's quite the trick there, my boy," she said in the sweetest possible voice, attempting to win him over to her influence, much like the sway she held over a few of her other children. But even that was fading fast, and she could sense it. These two could very well be her last two allies, though she knew deep within the void that once held her heart that even they were preparing to turn on her as well.

The shadow mage shrugged off the compliment and pretended not to care, though he did wonder about her taking to his talent. He would soon find out why she needed him as his mother stepped forward and asked:

"So can you help him? He needs more power if he is to do what you will have him do for the sake of us all. Everyone under the shroud of his shadow can still see, and it is dispelled easily by the sunlight. He won't be able to cover up the light all by himself."

Now the shadow mage was curious, and the fact that his mother turned slightly his way and flashed him a sudden, subtle wink only heightened that sense of wondering. What were they planning? Before he could hint the question to his mother, she turned back to the Motherdark and awaited her decision on the matter, hoping she would grant her son the powers he needed to carry out her plan.

Motherdark turned from the pair and forced a smile, knowing that she would always be immune to the powers he was about to gain. She was no fool, and she wasn't about to give her new benefactor the power to defeat her. That mistake had already been made.

"Yes, he does need more power."

She began to grow rapidly, sprouting wings and emerging out of the roof she had purposefully caved in not too long after she had taken the fortress. Once in her dragon form, Motherdark curled into a ball, releasing white-hot flame into her concealed hands, then charging it with electricity and freezing the contents into a solid shape. Last, she empowered the staff, exhaling a strange purple fire that coated the new weapon, finally shaping it into a pitch black orb. She then condensed much of the leftover dark spam from the fort's construction into the shape of a long staff and coated it with the same purple flame that lined the orb. She uncurled and revealed the weapon, an impressive looking staff.

"Here it is, your weapon of choice. You are both a mage and an assassin, a formidable combination if used correctly. However, your shadow is not very useful in direct combat, especially if you can still be seen after you release it. With this staff, not only is your shadow impenetrable to anyone but myself and your new brothers and sisters, but it can also last for a short while in the sunlight. Beware, though, for you will be drained if you try and sustain that shadow for too long in direct sunlight."

The shadow mage felt shortchanged, this weapon was just like his mother's, except he could not fight with it. Both women in the room sensed the shadow mage's apprehension, and Motherdark smiled as she revealed the weapon's true usefulness.

"That is not all, my boy. This staff will also allow you to use dark magic, the magic of the void, which will drain the life force from anyone who is exposed to it for too long, but it will not affect me, for I am a being of the void. Use that magic on me, and I will remain unaffected. But anyone else is fair game."

Mother and son smiled, they were both pleased by this turn of events, even though their betrayal of the Motherdark was not to be, they now had the power to destroy those pesky magi from the east. And Shadowcaster could finally give his rival the death he deserved, the death that he himself had suffered through back at the Chaos fort. Only the time mage would not escape it.

The duo turned to leave, but the Motherdark was not through yet.

"Hold on, there is one more thing you need, Shadowcaster."

They stopped.

"You are not yet a Forsaken One, but you can be with a snap of my fingers. I can give you immortality, my boy, but you must first do something for me."

The shadow mage was reluctant to comply, but the notion of immortality was too tempting to pass up, especially since he was so close to his goal of ultimate revenge against the beings of the light. Death was now just a hurdle to be removed. He would do whatever it took to rid himself of that obstacle.

"I'm listening."

"To the southeast, there is a town which we cannot enter because it is protected by holy light. In that town is something very dear to us, and retrieval of that artifact would greatly increase our chance of thriving in this world of light. You do not have to bring it back, but you must pave the way for your soon to be siblings to do so."

"Pave the way?"

"You are not yet a Forsaken One, so you may still enter the city unharmed. With your newfound powers, you can find the source of that accursed light and drain it of its energy. Once the light fades, report back to me."

One simple task, that was all that stood between him and immortality. It was up to Shadowcaster now, whether or not the ultimate prison would be guarded. He set off toward the pyramid on the horizon, alone for one last time. He was soon to join the ranks of the Forsaken.

RSF led three of them, he and Dingo by Dark Rider, Isildur by horseback, and Woockardo by hippogryph. They galloped east down into the low plains outside the Order Fort and up to the rise of a small knoll just in front of the mountain in which the Order Fort was built. There lie a headstone engraved Dragon Slayer.

RSF: "Here is the resting site for your dear Uncle. Follow me and I will bring you to the tomb. Here lies your family heirlooms."

RSF speaks a word and the door opens. He enters the tomb and walks over to a pedastale on which lies a sword and full suit of dragon scale armor.

RSF: "I believe you'll find everything here."

Isildur: "Ahh, yes. The Earth's Tooth."

RSF: "THE EARTH'S TOOTH?"

Isildur: "Yes of course. Now you know why I came to retrieve the heirlooms. Ahh, the Rock Dragon Armor. Not many people know about the armor that went with the emerald and weapon."

RSF: "If your family has been holding the weapons for all these generations, then you must know of the Forsaken Ones, and which I must inform you that they are on the loose ravaging these lands."

Isildur: "You cannot be serious. Why didn't you tell me before?"

RSF: "I didn't know Dragon Slayer's equipment was what it was. And he never mentioned him owning the Earth's Tooth. I simply thought that it was your basic magical equipment."

Isildur: "Our family made it a gift to Lord Woock, but now that he is gone, we wish to have it back."

RSF: "I'm afraid that the Land's Opal is not going to be easy to find. It is either lost, in the hands of a group of Supreme Magi, or worse in the hands of the Forsaken Ones themselves. I have not had contact with them for weeks. I was planning to seek them out after I gave you your heirlooms."

Isildur: "Your plans shall remain the same. However another ally shall be at your side."

Isildur holds out his hand. RSF reluctantly holds out his hand, which he has so carefully kept from sight. Isildur gasps at the skeleton hand.

RSF: "I am cursed."

Isildur: "Then perhaps it is best that I do not shake hands."

RSF: "Perhaps... We must not waste time. Let us go."

OOC: Shadowcaster. You will still control Alivia, but for this case I wanted to have you two separated for reasons that you know why.

The shadow mage turned and left for the ancient city. Alivia turned to follow her son.

Motherdark: "Where are you going? Do you think you can help your son with his quest? One this is his quest and his alone and should not be aided. This is to prove his worth. And besides, do you think you will be of any use to help him with his task? I think not. You are better off to come with me. There are magi on the loose nearing in on the crystals that trapped us the first time."

Motherdark spreads her wings.

Motherdark: "Come with me."

Alivia looks back at her son. They both gave each other a look of disappointment. They wanted to spend time with each other. They wanted to plot against this wretched woman.

Alivia: "What if there are others? What if there are others along the way?"

Motherdark: "He will still have to fight on his own once he reaches the Master Emerald. And do you think that a shadow mage will have any trouble avoiding trouble until he has reached his destination?"

Alivia gave another look back at her son and mouthed a goodbye. She hoped on to the back of her mother who immediately took off like a bolt headed Northwest.

Once in the air, Motherdark called out to her children telepathically. What she didn't know is that the time mage was still alive, still connected. But when Asmodean was connected telepathically to the dragon he summoned to escape from Illyria, Motherdark took over the dragon's body and soul and the connection was transferred to her. Until now neither side could tell of the other, since no one had used this telepathic connection, and with RSF and Asmodean still listening, they would hear everything.

Motherdark: "My children. Tell me where you are."

Ba'alithnor was the first to answer.

Ba'alithnor: "Mother come to the Shroomerish Forest. We have tracked them magi to this forest, we have just met up with the rest of the group. It seems that our magi have both ran to the same place."

Motherdark: "Vlandria, Illyria you had better not be fighting or else. I'll be right there."

RSF: "Dear God. Our allies are in the Shroomerish Forest and the Forsaken Ones are preparing to attack."

Dingo: "What? How could you know that?"

RSF: "I don't know. I think somehow I'm still connected telepathically to the Motherdark. She just called out to the rest of the Forsaken Ones. I heard another voice among them inform her of this."

RSF: "We must go now. Woockardo, can we use Cane? Flying is the fastest way."

Woockardo: "I don't mind, but I'm sure Cane isn't about let you ride her. She might bite you if you try, which would most likely give you the curse that turned your arm dead."

RSF: "Then we will ride. Dingo. Your Dark Riders are faster than horseback. Could you make a Dark Rider for Isildur?"

Dingo: "Consider it done."

Dingo already began to form the spell as he answered RSF, and whipped it out in a matter of seconds.

RSF: "Woockardo, fly low to the ground, so I can more easily cast haste upon all of us."

Woockardo: "I don't need a haste spell. Cane is faster than any rider with any haste spell."

RSF: "We shall see won't we. If you fall back, I will wait for you to catch up once and only once."

The time mage bolted off into the distance, the others followed closely behind until they rode nearly side by side. RSF raised his staff and began his most famous spell. The pace picked up tremendously. With the help of his staff RSF was nearly that of his former self. Woockardo headed Northwest to meet up with them later. The trail headed west to the Tavern, thence north. The trail was close to twice as long than by direct route in air, but by horseback the path made the journey much quicker. In fact with the haste spell they arrived there a considerable about of time before Woockardo did.

When Woockardo came down for a landing to meet up with the rest of them, RSF didn't even say a thing to Woockardo, but merely gave him a look, not a dirty one, but an 'I told you so' sort of look. And that was all RSF did. He immediately turned around his dark rider and continued on his journey north. Woockardo followed low to the ground and the group made incredible time. They passed by the Waterfall not even half an hour later. They finally arrived at the Ancient City where the Master Emerald is kept. RSF steered his Dark Rider to gallop around the town and eventually take the route towards the Northwest. Just as he was about half way around the city, his Dark Rider collapsed out of exhaustion. He was thrown from the horse landing in the grass unconscious.
