Strongest Castle in HOMM3
I made this for the fans of HOMM3 like myself to ask your opinions on the best castle in HOMM3. I want to hear what your favorite castles are and why. Personally i like the Stronghold myself. It comes with 2 shooters, great meleers, two war machines available, and almost every creature has a special. I just love how ogre magi cast bloodlust and thunderbirds cast lightning bolt. I love the double strike of a wolf raider and the castle rumbling ability of the cyclopes. And of course the special ability of the (Ancient) Behemoth. I think it's a great place, but not if you love magic. If you like magic i would suggest Tower or possibly Castle. So please tell me all what are yours?

Fortress, no question
Without a doubt I love the Fortress. I'll take all my existing units and defend that place with everything I've got. That puppy has a double layer-moat with strong walls. It has Glyphs of Fear which add +2 to a defending hero's defense. It has Blood Obelisks which add +2 to a defending hero's attack. It has the Cage of Warlords which permanently adds +1 to a hero's defense. The witch- class of heros gain spell power as rapidly as a wizard. Last but not least the definitive reason for my love of the Fortress is the powerful Mighty Gorgon. That beast has the ability instantly kill a black dragon with a single stare in the eyes! Two words dragon lovers:

There are two towns, which are always disabled in Multiplayer-Maps, because they are to strong for the others 
Necropolis (They like the death stare of the Mighty Gorgons  )
Conflux (4 level-7 units per week..and they are the fastest unit....puuuuh)

With 5 out of 7? The only town that doesn't beat Stronghold in the amount of specials is Fortress who also has a 5/7. The rest has 6 speciality creatures out of seven (except those with a full set - Conflux, Dungeon and - if we count undeadness as a special ability Necropolis)

i say....
ever town kicks butt exept for fortress maybe ? i know it but then playing with Sandro in SoD capaigns i say Necropolis are the coolest (then you have 1154 power liches)

How about Rampart ?
I definetly like Rampart. Why?
Because you have that speel resist on the Battle dwarves and on Dragon... which is very impotant in most of the battles.
Then....The Grand Elves...The of course Gelu with it's Sharpshooters. You make everyone run with let's say 5000 sharpshooters.
If you have Expert Archery combined with "The Bows" that increase the archery skill...oh....it's awsome,
It's true that the Silver Pegasi are weak...but how about the Blind of the War Unicorns?
And if we have a "panoramic" look on this castle, we can easily see that is the castle with the best speed movement of the characters.
With a little help of "Haste" you can put into the combat even the Dendroid Soldiers.....
Plus you have Level 5 Magic Towers.
The rangers with Expert Pathfinding and Expert Logistic plus Equestrian Gloves and Boots of Speed....you can easier manage a XL map, if you choose to play it on single player version.
Well...that's my opinion.

Best castle there is... I would much prefer that such a topic didn't exist. I say that all towns have some elements of surprise. With the right strategy, you can win almost with any type of army.
This should be called the "favourite town" topic, instead.
Btw, I enjoy inferno.

I don't remember exactly... but somewhere in the halls of this Library of Enlightenment there was a hread called 'Fortress - the weakest one?'. I think you should read it; it might affect your point of view on the Fortress town.
