Solmyr's specialty: I agree with you. One little artifact can do the trick. but which are the odds that you find that certain artifac???? The only good antidote against SOlmyr is Thorgrim, the hero from Rampart, who is best against magic heroes, but makes no different in combat
Well the examples could go on and on, so don't consider yourself superior to someone you don't know!!!
Btw - I played heroes for only 5 years...
And I can come up with soem challenges for you, if you don't mind...
Look Lt_Hunter, i didnīt want to insult you or something like that. Since i played heroes, magic was everything in this game what was important for me. A lightning bolt with 700 damage or an implosion with 2000 damage, armageddon, resurrection and all this stuff made me unbeatable (LOLOLOL). Second important thing was diplomacy. Who can beat adela or cyra with lev 25???? The computer couldnīt....no way!!
Then i learned many other things here in this library (i did indeed!!) e.g. the totally different gameplay against human players. I tried what i learned against some of my best friends who like heroes (3) as much as i do. I took those secondary skills, which i "hated" or thought they would be useless (like offence, armorer, tactic and so on...) and what can i say? I have beaten them all. Didnīt thought about the difference between my attack skill and the defense skill of the opponent. I learned how useless expert slow can be, when the opponent has expert tactics. How useless can implosion or meteor-shower be, if opponent has this anti-magic cape (forgot the correct name, sorry).
And this difference between a might and a magic hero is growing up with the number of level they reach!!
Take 50 scorpicores and a lev25 magic hero from dungeon and then 40 minotaurs with a lev25 might hero with all these secondary skills i mentioned above and earth a/o air magic.
In my eyes, you wonīt have a spit of chance with the magic hero here.
That was, what i learned here.
And when i came here and read all this stuff written by the veterans, i first was trying to find out if this is all correct and didnīt wrote such posts in a know-it-all style like you did.
Now you know the reason, why your posts are so funny for me and not only for me, i think (...and they still are... )

No need to demonstrate me with all those theories that youy can play heroes. Never said you couldn't. For your info I never got beaten in a multi player game.. I had more than 50 matches so far in locar tournaments (not online ones, unfortnuately) with dioffernt types of 'heroes freaks'. With some I even played 10 rematches! But they never could beat me.. Why? Luck.. probably.
And it is not bnecasue of the hero.. It is mainly becasue of the army andf the spells you got, as you said it. BUT imagoine a multi player game in which your opponent picks up Solmyr and the map is a random map..
I will eventually go for Thorgrim and if I keep up a good level he will have no chance on spitting those ligthining bolts on me, you know...
Oh and that 'know-it-all' attitude is something common to veterans... Don't you think???
AH i know something I would like to test yuou with. SOme tricky questions abotu different heroes situations. I will bring em tomorrow... Hmm I am curious how many guys knopw them here...*lol*

I posted that the only good hero for tower was Solmyr, when i should have added Theodorus. While I think Solmyr is the bomb with expert air magic, and the magi/arch magi specialty (reduced spell points for spells, eg. magic arrow from 5 points to 3) i knew that there was one artifact that would pretty much destroy Solmyr's special. The Pendant of Negativity (forgive me if i got that wrong), which makes chain lightning AND lightning bolt useless. Then i heard there were 2 more. Unless they are the magic resistance artifacts, what are they?
P.S. what is Tazar's special?

Solmyr?
These arts aren't the main problem... lvl50 you said?
This means that CL will do (100 + 3*50/1 = ) 250% of dmg to 1st lvl units and only (100 + 3*50/7 = ) 121% dmg to lvl7's. Poor advantage considering the fact that when you make your solmyr lvl50 several K of damage is just a little hit - you'll probably have legions of creatures that time...

I had to sign up just to post my thoughts on the best hero ever. I am no noobie, I have been playing heroes since heroes2 first came out.
I am a big fan of Necromancers and I think that having a good stack of vampires (~40 can be made in about one month with one castle), if you are careful you can get close to this in about one monthis so good as to being almost unfair. It alone can attack stacks larger then it without loosing any creatures.
Vokial with his bonus to vampires is my pick. The speed to the vampire alone makes him a formidable hero.
if you have a decent army by the middle of the second month, ditch the everything slower than speed 5, and you can really put the vamps to work.

I like that Sir Mullich Hero. +2 speed is just soo nice. Solymrs CL you can get in a magic guild, not that special. But +2 Speed is amazing. You have that special plus any speed enhancing artifacts, wow. This guy is really good for the Tower, Nagas go a bit faster and sometimes Titans can actually go first.

I am not familiar with with Sir Mullich. Is he a conflux hero? If so i wouldn't know, but +2 speed sounds pretty good. I think he would be most useful in the necro castle though  because of they're absolutely horrible speed. Vamps lords are pretty good but before you upgrade them they are pretty slow and weak. Vokial would be a good choice, because they are basically the equivalent of Jeddite or any other ressurecter and you can still get a hero with a good special. Though of course they can't ressurect others...

Sir Mullich (or whatever he is) is new hero from Castle adds two speed to every unit. Nice hero right

To tell the truth i am not really a Castle player. When i do play, if ever, i use Loynis (prayer) or Ingham (monks). i am a stronghold/dungeon player.

To tell you gusy the truth about Solmyr is that he is very usefull in everys tage fo the game. Until you manage to rasie a big enough army to be able to defend against him you wil be toasted.
but still you can have tha resistance spec.. that is sometimes pretty good. That's why I consider Thorgrim an antidote against this guy...

Yes resistance specialty is good to some degree. But i would much prefer finding the artifacts that negate his special. Of course sometimes they won't be available, so you can get him and also try finding the artifacts. I see the Pendant of Negativity quite a lot in my travels, so i would rely on that one. It negates not only chain lightning but lightning bolt as well. That is a very good choice to make tho' to try to foil Solmyr.

oh ok, i have read about a guy that could do that, and i knew he was pretty good. I don't have AB so i don't know much about the people in it. Yeah that seem like a pretty good person to choose. I have played AB before and enchanters seem really good.

dont even think about choosing him he is "unique" hero from tower. You can choose him when you do smth in map specifications Hehe
