Perfect combination in the Mage Guild would be (unfortunately almost impossible):
1st: Slow, Bless, Magic Arrow, Haste, Dispel
2nd: Blind, Fire Wall, Lightning Bolt, Weakness
3rd: Frost Ring, Prot. from Earth, Forgetfulness
4th: Town Portal, Berserk
5th: Dimension Door or Implosion

i beg to differ - i would trade dispel for view earth/air any day : )

lvl 2 weakness... never used it : ) i find battles go better if you don't get hit, and for weakness to work u got to get hit... so no point

3 lvl - some can not live without tele, some could not see the light og day without anti-magic.. it takes all kinds - but forgetfulness... for what? to battle cyclops ?

lvl 5 - so what do you still prefer here? DD or Implo? coz i'd get fly : )the most broken spell in heroes 3 is still undefeated number one FLY

1) Slow or Haste. Bless is good too
2) Lightning Bolt or Blind (can't decide)
3) Anti-Magic overall; Animate Dead with Necro and Teleport with Stronghold and Fortress. When battling a Legion of Walkers, I'd take Force Field.
4) Prayer and Berserk (tied) close third is Ressurrection
5) Fly, 'nuff' said

If you are in the mids of the game and about to fight implo or sacrafice if you go LOTS of mana and high lvl hero then DD/fly.

1) Slow if the enemy is stronger/you have lots of shooters. Otherwise, Haste
2) Blind, Lightning Bolt for killing those annoying creatures when in trouble.
3) Animate dead for necro. Force field for tactical situations
4) Expert Berzerk may be the best, but it seems to me as bug-abuse. I would prefer expert prayer, it's all the buffs collected in one spell. Chain lightning for early game fun.
5) I sincerely don't like any. But Implosion if I must choose one.

Of course, I didn't take any movement or information spells into consideration.

I really tried hard to think of a situation where chain lighting could be useful - i fail, the spell is just not good. For anything : ) the list of spells which are better is long though, i find 'sorrow' to be tons better.

The reload spell is the best. If you mess up, you just reload. Not even Fly or DD is that effective.

i'm sorry, i couldn't understand, what bliss? I, ofcorpse, exaggerated - i wanted to point my dislike of the spell

It is not good for winning. It is good for early game fun as I stated Nothing beats killing lots of low level shooters if you are certain you will get some mana replenishment soon. Graphically it gives you satisfaction as an inferno does. If you have Solmyr, it's good fun. For powerplaying or against human opponents, it is of course useless. Prayer is my best pick as it improves your army overall, especially if you have Loynis and Expert Water Magic.

Not true. Russ used that spell almost every game. I think it's called the anti-suicide spell.

Mass Haste/Slow (pick your poison, same effect)

Level 2: Blind, definitely.

Level 3: Teleport

Level 4: Berzerk

Level 5: Dimension Door

I almost agree.
Mass slow is a bit better, than mass haste. You may use shooters against non-shooters. In that case, you don't want to be faster, you try to keep away the enemy from you.
In some cases (small battles, poor map), meteor shower is better than berserk. Depends on map. The same for frost ring vs. teleport.
On large/xl map, I would go for town portal.
DD is DD. In my wogmod I have an adventure spell, wich gives you movement for mana (or vice versa), and, together with some magic springs/magic wells it may boost fly over DD. Outside WoG, DD wins.

Please explain how DD wins over Fly, for being the most broken spell ever? Fly let's you skip guards and take whatever they are guarding - DD does not so.. i fail to understand
