How would you rate Homm3 out of 10???
I thought of a poll-like question. I saw that Lands of Axeoth (HoMM4) community was a rate of H4.
Now, I am asking you to say your opinion about H3. I think it was a bit better than H4. So I give you my ratings:
Graphics:9
I think that graphics were better in H3, because there was a long time stop of creating Heroes. For the year 1999-2000 I think H3 had best graphics, I mean 2D, while after 2 years created H4 had 3D.
Still, I think that 2D graphics are better for HoMM.
Gameplay:10
Nothing to say. H3 was the best turn-based strategy game ever. I still like it and I'm playing it for the third time too...
Expansions:10
The newer, the better.
Spell System:8
Quite bad spell system. I don't say that spells are bad, but that thing about no-cooperation between town and spells was an enormous noncence.
Creatures:9
I liked that system with upgrades. But I think that it was a noncence about that cost to upgrade. I think that creatures should automatically upgrade. Of course, the building must be built.
Map:9
Not the best, but still, quite good.
Overall:9
Even if I rate H3 nine, I could say that heroes are the best game ever.Unfortunately, there are some minuses, but they are not big and not many of them.
So, please send your statistics over the game.

I give it a overall rating of 9!
the only game that would get 10 is Sid Meyers Civ,and since HoMM is not even near that,it does not get a 10!

H4 IS NOT 3D GAWD DAMMIT! 
Can't you tell the difference between 3D (e.g. Etherlords) and pre-rendered (e.g. HoMM4)?

H4 is isometric 2D, nothing more. Yet it's better than plain 2D from homm1-3.
I'd give the third part 8, maybe 8.5 points.

Umm, 9.9 and that's because i cantplay it right now .
But heroes and castles are great (exception: Conflux - too overpowered). Playing is quite fun and campaings are good. so 9.9

I think anything more then 6 is too much
And i think ranking in general is just bad ,is it compared to all the other crappy games out there? if so then its a perfect 10 easy , but in my mind i can easily imagine games that make heroes 3 looks like a boring game ,sadly we will probably never get to see any of them.

i would give it a 9.5
without the random map generator the my rating would drop down at least 1 or 2 points. i find the map generator good enough for my tastes.
the game is great b/c the towns are excellent, the replayability, and sounds/graphics.

I give it a 10.It's the best of the Heroes series,UbiSoft and their 3d imtation will never fool me!I was probably more disappointed of h1 than I ever was in my life.I've been trough much to get the game,and my effort was for nothing! h3 was 3do's Golden Age!

Some of the Campaign scenarios suck (Playing With Fire, 2nd scenario anyone?) and usually the climax of your game comes a week before finishing.
Spells are fun though the schools are unbalanced, Earth has the best spells both tactical and offensive (with the possible exception of Air's Mass Haste).
The creatures are sprited nicely and the individual towns provide a lot of gameplay diversity. The music is decent.
Overall it is incredible how a quite simple concept can be so addictive.

The Conflux is a very good addition. So are the Campaign editor and the Random Map editor. The new artefacts are brilliant.
Spell System:10
Best of all Heroes series.
Creatures:10
A good mix.
Music: 9
Best of all Heroes games (especially better than crappy IV). It could be improved, even if that wouldn't be needed.
Overall:10
The best game ever maded (besides WBCIII and EUII).

From HOMM II? For sure, but in comparison with other strategies, nothing special. Of course the graphics is not as important as for other games here.

Conflux is real disaster. Totally unbalanced, damaged reputation of HOMM.

Worse than Heroes II music, worse than Heroes IV (maybe best game music ever created) for sure. But still very good, just in shade of HOMM II&4

I don't know, what WBCIII or EUII means but IMHO Heroes III are not best even from HOMM series, I would prefer HOMM IV and HOMM II.

Would be 10 if not for some gameplay isues (chaining etc.)
