The Greatest Song Ever

What do you think? What song can be called the best song of the last century? I'm inclined to say November Rain by Guns N' Roses or Bohemian Rapsody by Queen.

Bohemian Rapsody by Queen has won some award in Britian I heard as the best rock song of the century.  I agree

When it comes to Queen, I'd say Too Much Love Will Kill You or Show Must Go On, rather then the ones you mentioned.

Sure, those are good, but Too Much Love Will Kill You somehow always makes me kinda sad. And it's The Show Must Go On.

I humbly present my apology for THE mistake I made, great knower of all things that are Queen-related. No, really, I was just in a hurry and left the 'the' out. My bad.

I think "Yesterday" by the Beatles has been covered more often than any song in history, but I think Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" ought to be a candidate as well.

My wife says "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing," while not necessarily a product of genius, certainly had a worldwide impact.

Laelth, if you're going for 'impact' then I feel compelled to mention Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant Masacree".

The man had a helluvaninteresting way of driving home a point!

Yes, Stairway to Heaven" is just as good as "Bohemian Rhapsody".

LichKing, I've never even heard of that one.

not surprised, Wolfman

It's an 'old' tune, prolly long before your time, lol.

Basically it's a long, looooooong story about the hell a guy goes through after dumping a bunch of trash off of a cliff.

He gets arrested, taken to court, and eventually ends up being a vietnam era draftee.  Not until the end of the song would you ever suspect it was a poke at the Vietnam war and how stupid Guthrie thought the war was.

Aside from that, it's one of the funniest daym songs you'll ever hear, imo.

I'm neither adult nor a child and I do not know pretty much good ol' songs, because I listen to the NEWEST ones . So I think, the song number#1 is...Outkast"Ms.Jackson" or Outkast"B.o.B.(Bombs over Baghdad)

Greatest Song? But that's just one song. Singles are over-rated. Most of them are just lucky one-hit wonders. It takes true talent to make a good album from beginning to end.

Out of the new bands, my vote goes to Elephant by the White Stripes. Great album. It was also nominated for Album of the Year and well deserved.
