I think this does not meet the conditions of the question. The question was: When Harpy Hags will not return to the hex blah blah. Will not return. And n your case they do return to their starting hex, but die afterwards, right?

Donīt know, if the pronounciation was on the word return or on the words starting hex.
But in my eyes, they donīt return to their starting hex, because that hex is now vertical up in the air....
...letīs see what lt_hunter has to say about that...

As much as I hate to say it, WE HAVE A WINNER
Yes, what ANgelito said it WAS corect. She finally guessed the last option.
So if the harpy is standing on the opened bridge, with no other dead or allive creature on it, after it will fly to attack its target, the bridge closes and SHE WILL NOT RETURN!!!
So angelito - my congrats for you! Good job.
NEXT:
Name all artifacts that grant your troops immunity from certain Mind Influencing spells

A) enchanter or faerie dragon cast spells on magic-mirrored creature
B) attacking creature with fire shield
C) maybe when getting retaliation (silly answer, but still)
D) by armageddon spell (if map's scripted)
E) maybe magog's fireball???
I know I don't know the correct answer, but maybe some of these will be true.

Strange... In my version, one Enchanter stack attacked my faerie dragons, but it didn't suffer any damage. Instead of that, it mirrored the arrow towards a gremlin stack.

Enchanters shot only looks like magic arrow, but it is not a spell.
