WHY DO ERM HAVE TO BE SO COMPLICATED?!?!
Can't someone teach me how to understand how to do ERMs. All those numbers and letters make me dizzy.

Saying something sucks for no good reason is not a good thing IMO. Also, a thread title in full caps is annoying, unless you have a very good reason to not do otherwise. You're not really a friendly guy, are you?
And thanks to ERM's complexity, only those who really want to can do scripts and such. There's no 'I know! I'll make a supercool ermscript packed campaign that will blow everyone off their feet!'.

Well, thats your opinion. I only have a hard time finding someone who can learn me how to understand the ERM and that Caps lock thing was only in desperation.

im with stormrage if theres a wog team member reading this, PLZ think about making a erm languag thats easier for stupid peeps like me to understand. me and allot of other people would really appreicate it. or mab make a thing so that the scripter culd help you make scripts but im not sure how well that would work. just think about it

Don't panic. You can find many ERM help files on the internet. Go to google, type "ERM scripter help" or something that you want, and read the files carefully. I learned many things about ERM by reading TNT's great ERM tutorial textfile. (I think he deserves a QP for that  ) Unfortunately, it only tells you the basics of making objects on adventure maps to function, but the other scripts not differs from them very much .
You can find TNT's great ERM tutorial here.
NOTE: You'll have to register to yahoo groups first (free) than join TNT's group. Than you can download the Word document and the map, on which you can practise, and test what you've done .

I'd like to reiterate the question - just why exactly is it so complicated? I've always wondered myself. Surely the idea should be to make it accessible so that everyone can use it, not make it esoteric to the extent that it looks like random characters? Anyway, moan over, not my business to interfere.

Do you know any major programming languages that are simple, accessible and don't look like random characters to someone who hasn't studied them?
C++, one of the most popular and powerful languages looks like a bunch of gibberish if you haven't learned it, yet it's widely used and hasn't been replaced with something simpler so that everyone can use it. Why do you suppose that is?

You don't necessarily have to follow the trend, but anyway, I doubt they are quite as bad as ERM - at least they have spaces! Anyway, it's not my business to complain, surely a lot of work has gone into the project as it is.

Yes, please give some ERM help! It makes me dizzy, too! I only know how to rename creatures and change their stats. Everything else is too confusing.
