I myself would consider V.lords and D.knights the more dangerous units (and P.liches if your units are together)


Nope .. skeletons simply are THE driving force for the necro army. Just calculate the dmg they do and the dmg any other necro stack will do in your army!@

Bear in mind that there is no shooter with infinite shots. How many grand elves are required to kill 12000hp?

In the example i used i said 150 grand elves, roughly speaking damage 5*150 G.elves shooting twice = 1500hp per turn, Thus 8 turns (shots are irrelevant as they have 24shots)They have 3 turns before the Skellies reach over (that leaves only 1250 skellies), if no other units are present/or already dead then the G.elves will just move,shoot,move,shoot. Otherwise other units will provide different options.

P.S. I'm not trying to suggest that Skellies are not great in large numbers.

Ok... Supposing there's only 1250 skellies once they came close to the elves. Now, to avoid being killed off instantly, where can the elves go? either straight up or straight down. Then the skells walk over, still not killing. the elves get another two shots in, because they have nowhere to run without being killed because although elves are faster, skells are closer to any destination the elves might possibly choose. End of Elves.

(the above may be flawed at a few points, I was improvising all the way)

But i do not have ONLY skeletons in my army dude....their will be plent of vampirlords, which will block your grandelves anyway....until the skellies reach the other side of the battlefields...


It isn't that hard to rid these V. Lords from the field. It is annoying but not hard. If you use V. Lords i will simply have the tower castle. Plenty of nonliving units there to fight you off with. Gargoyles and Golems are nonliving, so I would attack you with that so you can't drain your life back. Also I am curious, can you drain life from (Master) Genies?

For the problem about the speed of skellies...have you ever heard about "tactic"-skill?...or a hero with specialty skeletons? (+ 1 speed!)...or fighting on necro ground? (+ 1 speed!)....

And for the solution about the vampirlords....i mentioned them only to kill the shooters...afterwards you can kill them with pleasure....coz the skellies will overrun you faster than you can breathe...hehehe

And don't know which is the best, because I rarely lose. Note that I dont play multiplayer. But i I'd arrange them in the following order:

Just of curiosity, why do you rate Stronghold so high? And isn't Inferno too expensive to support?

On small or medium maps, stronghold is very good. There´s no other town in which you can build lev7 dwelling that early....

2.Stronhold(few sec resources to use)

Also I like Conflux very much, but can't play that(or Necro)

I can't find a site that had statistics (except from the one already posted it) about castles and best creatures of any level (they had a ranking for anything). Maybe you know it, if so please post it.

Well I as a newbie to heroes am trying to figure this out as I have asked in my thread in this forum entitled "Newbie Tips", but so far I have no preference i need people to tell me which one is best so feel free to tell me in my thread! The only ones I have really tested so far are Fortress and Castle.

Best town in SOD would be definitivly the one that can break DU faster than the others. So , first and the easyest way to break DU is with castle , stronghold and fortres (if no conflux and necro). Rampart is so , so , tower good but to slow to upgrade , dungeon so , so , inferno not so good.
Castle can break DU with 5 angels - if archang. than with no significant loses - you build them week 3 mostly on random imp. , so you attack DU week 1 month 2.
Stronghold is build mostly week2 on random imp. , but with lack of lv 6 troops you attack DU week 1 month 2 with 7 ancient.
Fortres have mighty cows. Enough said. Attack on DU when have 5 hydras - again mostly week 1 month 2.
Everything here can variate one week.
With other castles you can attack if you have 5 lv. 7 troops , but risk to lose to much, and thus the hole game.
Ofcourse , it all depends on development of your hero and spels he might find ( scrols ) , but in overall it is like I said.
Oh , and for necro , he can break DU with about 600 skelis and you know how easy is for him to build that army.
