I'm Not Concerned With The Academic Title

I'm interested in that which one obtains through receiving the title. The process by which a person is taught the title is educating and imprints experience marked with confidence.

What I want most is the ability to write without being marked for my hometown slang. You and I may not see the subtle significant slang usage in my posts but an expert linguist could point them out easily. I don't want to be limited by where I was born and raised. I want to overcome my cultural ingrams of speech and writing; To broaden my horizons so to speak. I want my work to appeal to a large variety of audience as opposed to a confined and limited segment from a city back in Texas. It's been an ongoing struggle for me not use words like, "y'all", "britches", "yonder", "okigh", "nuthin", "fixin", and many others that are so subtle that I'm not aware of them.

I feel a university can offer this kind of progression. University professors are some of the most respected persons in their fields of study. It's a wordlwide occurrance. Many people abroad come to the u.s. to increase their level of education. Granted I'm no Ivy league material or Oxford hopeful in the slightest. However, I'm very excited to learn as much as I possibly can so that when I do release my work it will be of great quality not only to me but to those who read it.

I want to rise above my limited beginnings and enter the world stage as an accomplished and considerate writer. To be considerate of the world is to have thoroughly educated yourself on each culture and the influences those cultures have had on the rest of humanity. I feel particularly strong about the cultural/language connection for each peoples' worldly influence on humanity.

My areas of interest are to intense to describe or put fourth to understanding at ease.

I am gonna go with PC science (and electritian until then) because all you need is a PC to have a lot of things to create.

Texas Slang

"britches" : pants, trousers, leggins.

The little boy was told to pull up his britches after he finished using the restroom.

"yonder" : over there, far off, way out there.

The man walked out of his door but could barely see the horizon out yonder.

"okigh" : okay, ok, alright, in agreement with a smile

Would you like to purchase these earrings young lady? "Okigh."

Yup. I obviously lay HOMM games. I play other games on my Gamecube and Gameboy as well.
I also like to annoy the neighbours when I test how loud my guitar amp can be turned up. I write songs too.
When I'm not doing any of these I'm usually helping to prop up one bar or another with my buddies as we try to make it all the way across the line of spirit bottles behind the bar without passing out.
I also rollerblade and swim to keep fit, and I have a pet snake called Fluffy. I like watching comedy/horror movies and like shows such as Friends/Angel/The Simpsons/The Powerpuff Girls.

Dac

Hi and welcome to Heroes Community. I would like to tell you that I studied Kinesiology during my schooling in New Mexico. I found it to be very interesting and enlightening. It's a great field of study if you ask me.

Well, I`ll try to explaine because I`m not so god in english to explaine you precisly, I think Consis will explaine you much better then I. OK, Kinesiology is one of the youngest area of science today and one of the smallest. It is in one hand connected with medicine. We both reserch human body. Major difference between Kinesiology and Medicine is that we are focused on riseing human healt on higher level and they are focused on cureing people. That teraphy is called Kinesioteraphy. In 4 years of studying, our program is created with 50%:50% theoreticly and theoreticly-practical hours. In first group we have subjects like anathomy, fiziology, sport medicine, pedagogy, sichology, sociology, statistic...In second group we have subjects like Track and field, swimming, skiing, handball, voleyball, soccer, basketball, judo, wrestling...These sports are one sort of trening, with basic elements of that game. My title is profesor of Kineziology, and I can work in every school like teacher, in gim`s...In last year I gain specialti in recreation, kinesioteraphy or becoming coach in sport I choose...So there is many options to choose after I finish that. I hope you understand now more about Kinesiology

Kinesiology

Wiseman,

Kinesiology is a very broad term for a very broad field of science focusing on "bio-mechanics". Kinesiology is usually a direction for a field of study that will usually end up becoming more specific as the student progresses and becomes more interested in a more specialized field of kinesiology.

My wife, for example, is a physical therapist. That is one field under the study of kinesiology. Her type of kinesiology would be classified as clinical or post hospital care. Other types include the specific areas of the body such as abdomen, legs, arms, and even as specific as wrists specialists. Each degree of science for each specified field is just as valuable as the others. However, it all does depend on what is in demand in your geographic location. In other words if you live in a city with plenty of doctors who specialize in hand therapy then it probably isn't a good idea to look for a job of that nature in that location.

For the most part kinesiology is the study of how the body's bones and muscles work together. Obtaining a specific liscense for a highly specialized area of the body usually gets you paid more money depending on that area's demand for the specialty.

High demand = higher pay

Low demand = Lower pay

My field of the kinesiology was more closely associated to prehospital care providers. As a first responder I had to learn the nature of most of the kinesiological aspects of the vital areas of the body such as the upper and lower chest, pelvic region, spinal column, and cerebral area. So, I was very focused on learning things such as how to correct certain injuries of those regions and transportation of a patient with such injuries to a nearby hospital.

Other types of kinesiological degrees are more related to a requirment to attaining a specific level of education. It sounds to me like Dac is looking to become some type of sports trainer. Some sports training degrees do require many classes from the field of kinesiology. It all depends on where you want to use your level of education and to what end you would like to have your goals met.

Wouldn't that be

High supply = Lower pay
Low Supply = Higher pay?

Just wondering... Could, ofc, be the combination of the two. If the supply curve for labour and the demand curve for labour crosses each other at a high quantity...

Oh, well, it doesn't matter. Won't be able to figure it out without scetching it...

As for the topic: My fav academic interests are History and Politics, and I'm working towards a Bachelor degree combining the two right now (or at least, I should be ).

Of the two, I would have to say that I prefer History, specially history from times and places we don't know much about. That leaves a lot to the imagination

Other than that, I've been kinda interested in Sociology, and to a certain degree Economics (as you could see from my little ramblings at the top...), but not as much as the other two...
