How do I play a map I made for Heroes3?
I don't see the map listed when starting a new game

actually I'm trying to help a friend out who made the map

I tried downloading maps and putting them in the /maps dir and no luck either
I went to new game and new scenario and looked at the list of maps and no luck
is there a difference between map and scenario?

Sorry, then I don't know. I just saved my map in the maps folder, and everything is working fine for me

that's odd... we both tried on two different comps... so you just saved the map in the maps folder and started the game, clicked new game, and new scenario and then looked at all the available maps and your map was listed?

maybe it's a bug that needs a patch to fix?
my friend, who made the map, just told me he gets "an invalid map file version" error when starting the editor

What version is the map? is it Roe, AB or SoD? coz maybe you are trying to play an expansion map on original homm3.

did you try having you map apriasaled?
sometimes your map has a glitch that was human made like an extra underground portal or some misplaced object
try it
