Eagle Eye

Ok, just want to hear it from the pros...

What's the deal with (airline food these days) eagle eye?
Give me 1 (ONE) reason why I would waste a precious skillslot on eagle eye. No really, why is it still included and are there even so many heroes that have it as a speciality!

the best way for you to understand the meaning of the eagle eye kill (and even of the scholar skill) is to play the Eternal Love campaign. You can find it on almost any h3 site.

Exactly. Like anything else, it CAN be powerful. But not always.

I see it as useful only when I have all of my spells gimpified(sorry about this made up word ). Like if for Mage Guild Level 1 I get view air and earth, summon boat, and dispel. And 2nd level is like disguise, scuttle boat, and remove obstacle. Then I might get it so I have somewhat offensive spells.

Eagle eye may also turn out useful when facing enchanters, genies or faerie dragons while mage guilds and shrines are banned

Eagle Eye sucks completely! It's the worst skill possible for the game, in close competition with Navigation when playing without water areas.

That is soooo annoying! when you go to a witch hut and get navigation, or scholar, or eagle eye. It sucks.

I never go to a witch hut with my good hero enymore.
Allways use a scout for those jobs ...
Same with scholars, the risk is too big ...

Yeah that's a good idea, maybe I should start doing that. But I usually never have a scout. I usually use one maybe 2 heroes a game. But the 2nd doesn't come til the end. I just hate spliting armies up and having 2 or 3 weak heroes instead of one strong one.

That's the point of a scout.
In ideal surcomstances I have one hero who concentrates on stats, levelling and offence, one hero who concentrates on defence and nearby creature dwellings if possible and one hero for scouting, gathering recourses, ferrying crits and just enough crits to do the easy mines ...

But off course that's no golden rule. All depends on the map etc ...

With that tactic u will gain no dime against a human player...

And having 5,6 or more heroes doesn´t mean u have not ONE hero who is strong enough for ur mainfights.

But is it worth, to take all the crypts, e.g,  in ur area only with ur main hero?
Think of all the time this needs...and this few experience points won´t help him that much.....but if ur other heroes do these fights, the can "earn" logistics and/or pathfinding with these experience points and that can help u very much (think of bringing new troops to ur main hero, when he is away from hometown somedays....).

Learning is the worst skill IMO.  Navigation can be good, when theres water.

@ Angelito:
Don't know about against a human player (don't want to, it's too slow to play online certainly when everybody has around 8 heroes :S)
The crypt thingies is what I meant with some creatures to do the basics. For example it is also rather lucrative to visit al those shipwrecks. Since they aren't infested with those damn ghosts from Homm II anymore you don't need much troops to defeat those wraits or skeletons and it gives you a relativly large cash bonus
AND THAT my boy you can NEVER have enough

But enough about frogs, marbles and gellypuding, if that isn't how you do it, what do you do more?
Or do you just mean you have more heroes, but with the same tasks as I discribed?

And learning defenatly beats Eagle Eye!
I mean, eagle eye, it's only usefull when you attack other heroes. And by then you usually know those spells already. And even if you don't, you have to have the luck your oponent uses that one particular spell and you have to have a high enough skill (+ artifacts preferably) to learn it.

No, give me learing in your scout hero. That way your offence hero doesn't have to come all the way back to learn those damn spells ...
And if you find a good spell somewhere (event, scholar or something like that) you can pass it through to all your fellow heroes.

But don't misunderstand me, I don't think learning is THE most usefull skill, but I'm saying, if I get it I won't curse the demons out of their layers ...

Well, to play with more heroes and take advantage of the "troop chaining" needs some experience.
But there are some fixed maps made by good mapmakers, which will show u the difference between "normal" gameplay (that means 1 hero and perhaps a second to do the mill and dwelling thingies).
Take a look here in the maphavenguild.

There are many maps mentioned which have a great gameplay.

And then, u should buy the second addon of Heroes III, Shadow of death.

The campaigns there are much more difficult than in armageddons blade and u r able the set the difficulty by ur own.
If u finish ALL scenarios from ALL campaigns on 200% (impossible mode), then u know a little bit of using heroes efficiently (though there r many scenarios, where u only have 1 hero), and speed is so important on some of these scenarios, u have to fight some places earlier than u think (full crypt on week 1, utopia on week 3...and so on..)

Since i took my first step on the zone, i´ve never played ANY game against the comp....thats the truth!
