invalid map file version homm3
hi all i keep getting a invalid map file version why i try to open a map that i just downloaded. this is for homm 3
it say invalid map file version
file version=67324752
current version=14
i'm new to downloading maps.is there a patch or something
i'm missing.

it happens if you:
1) do not have the correct version (14 is RoE I think)
2) do not have a specified patch (happens sometimes)
3) do not have a LEGAL version
4) do not have homm 3 at all

File Versions usually come as 14, 21, 28 ... :-/ I'm not sure what a file version is doing in the millions. I'd be suspicious of a corrupt file, and try downloading and unzipping other maps.
You *did* unzip the map before trying to open it in the editor, right?

works fine now
thanks guy i don't no well i did but went i download now.
it seems too work fine. i reinstalled the game and everything works good other i did no updates.
i have been trying to buy heroes 4 for about a year but i can't seem to find it anywhere. i live in st. catharines ontario.so if anyone no's where i can get it,please let me no.

You probably had SoD then deleted it, reinstalled RoE and tried to open them. That's why the error appeared. Enter the map editor and open from there the maps
