Mirc chat...would it work? people willing to try?
I mentioned this in the TOH dead post, and Tamanarasset wanted to setup a heroes chat room on Mirc. Well I wonder if people would try it out or just stick to zone? I figure most stick to zone....but so many cool things can come from Mirc maybe people will give it a chance? here is what I posted b4 with a few edits
hehe, well me being an Mirc user...it would be kinda cool if all went into a chatroom like that. its great because certain people could be operators and keep the room under control, it has easy file sending methods, and there are scripts that could post IP's for games easy...only thing it dont got is auto launch feature. 1 downfall is there are virus freaks out there, and altho u can block them easy, some may be dumb to double click the file they get called sex.mpg.zip assumin they accept it (then again, people have email and can get them just as easy from that) but we'd keep it out of our room...but if you hit the warez channels you may pick some up
Im not sure the state of servers for H4, but if there is only zone...Mirc could be an option. I know enuff about it that I could setup a channel, setup a script with options all set, so people just install it and all settings in place. and if a spammer comes in, they get the boot super easy
another cool thing is you can make file servers, where if you want the map hourglass 3, u type a command and the map is sent
So any feedback is welcome. I dont expect it to take off much, but interested to see what people think. and any Mirc users who are fairly knowledgable can help with it...assumin anyone cares to try it, haha.

IRC = imperial age
Zone = feudal age
I for one, would sure like to see IRC coming back to HOMM community. But bad habits are hard to break...

Well i'm a mirc user i can help making a script i'm working on mine  .I mos stay on undernet i can help the channel i know lots of stuf fabout irc and some portection messures.So i could be a great ideea that we can can start a channel for toh named #Toh.So let's do it!.My nick is Adeon like the one in the toh so let's make Heroes be the best game ever!

nothin setup yet really, just curious if any interested
Im usually on Dalnet or Efnet...I surely wouldnt use Efnet cause of recent problems of their servers going down, but anyone is open...I may make a test one on dalnet or something to see how it turns out.
Im mostly curious how people respond. I know people wont leave zone for it, but maybe both can be used...could use mirc as a chat/help channel with file servers that have all the patches and maps on them for easy download. and people like Adeon who can make scripts..could make a heroes of might and magic one. specifically designed for anything you will need or want to use as a heroes user. I know a lil about the scripts and for now could set the settings for a standard polaris one for people to use to get on quick. But most of it depends on peoples interest. maybe Ill post a reply later this afternoon or tonight with server and channel info for a test run, we'll see.

I have never used MIRC, how do you get to this place? Or do I need to download a program, please point me in the right direction.

here is a link to a basic mirc script to try

there is a basic one, later when u more familiar u can change to different ones.. I set a few things to make it easier to use. connect to dalnet and join #heroes3 Ill have that setup...may be asleep, but will have the channel up, lol. if ur in US, use connect to random us dalnet server..it doesnt always connect first shot, but keeps tryin automatically.

Jinxer i advice you to tkae mirc from www.mirc.com. Mirc is a program that runs under windows and connectes to a irc server.There are 3 major irc servers Undernet Dalnet and Efnet i am on undernet most often but thery channel services are down.So get mirc and explore.Don't get any scripts yet it is bets to start with the mirc program not other stuff they have bugs and other stupid stuff.

my conclusion
it has come to my conclusion that it would work...I had a channel setup for a day, and a select few tried it out, and could catch on...however, people wont try it or break their habits. so will stop with it, unless somethin comes up later.
