Guess what, all the towns are fine for me. Each town is well balanced for me and I don't really care about which town to use.

Rank from defence power of each town:
1. rampart (battle dwarf + dendroid warrior)
2. tower (love mines yo!)
3. fortress (2 grid of moat and the best lvl 5 mighty gorgon)
4. stronghold (omg, ancient behemoths and ogre magi!)
5. dungeon (love black dragons and 2 grid of moat)
6. necropolis (vampire lord and dread knight are excellent defences)
7. inferno (so so...)
8. conflux (nothing good...)
9. castle (no comment...)

Rank from attack power of each town:
1. stronghold (best attack power, 80% off for ancient behemoth!)
2. castle (yeah, archangel!)
3. dungeon (sturdy units)
4. conflux (no comment...)
5. necropolis (use vampire lord and dread knight a lot)
6. fortress (some units are fast at speed but easy to die)
7. inferno (not sturdy units)
8. rampart (slow...)
9. tower (many units are low healthed)

Rank from magic/spell power of each town:
1. tower (best library ever)
2. dungeon (useful spells and cause destructive damages)
3. conflux (all kinds of them here plux a school for heroes)
4. rampart (need more attacking spells)
5. inferno (too much fire spells that lack power, deal a huge area)
6. necropolis (some undead spells not useful on other units)
7. castle (one more lvl!)
8. fortress (lvl 3 guild for swamp witches? unbelievable!)
9. stronghold (you know this for sure, barbarians are not for magics)

1. Necropolis
2. Castle
3. Fortress
4. Dungeon
5. Conflux

here is my order of the castles in strongest to weakest:

1. conflux (mostly fast, very strong health, good mix of offensive and defensive creatures, 2 shooters, 2 flyers which is a plus in castle sieges, really good special abilities (magic resistance) very strong with magic (offence and defence) and quick creature growth)

2. dungeon (3/4 fast, 2 shooters, 3 flyers, good special abilities (harpy hag, scorpicore, black dragon) consistent health and creature growth, more offensive than defensive magic, all offensive creatures with no real big defence)

3. castle (1/2 fast, 2 shooters, 2 flyers, lots of extra retaliations/shots (royal griffin, crusader, marksmen), pretty good health besides zealots, all offensive creatures with no real big defence, mixed magic and even creature growth)

4. tower (1/2 fast but with no breakaways, 3 shooters, 2 flyers, pretty good health besides the master genies, strong abilities (iron golem, master genie, naga queen), more defensive than offensive, strong magic qualities, consistent creature growth)

5. rampart (fast besides battle dwarves and dendroids, 1 shooter, 2 flyers, all have good special abilities except for centaurs, good health, quick creature growth, good mix of magic, more defensive than offensive)

6. stronghold (consistent speed but no breakaways, 2 shooters, 1 flyer, extra shots at enemies (wolf raiders, thunderbirds, cyclop king), other good abilities (ancient behemoth, ogre magi), good creature growth, very poor magic, good mix of offensive and defensive creatures, consistent health but could be better)

7. necropolis (slowish in speed, 1 shooter, 3 flyers, good special abilities (power lich, vampire lord, dread knight, ghost dragon), strong magic and necromancy abilities, low health and generally weak creatures, good creature growth, mixed offensive and defensive)

8. inferno (slowish besides efreeti sultan and arch devil, 1 shooter that is hazardous to its team-mates, 2 flyers, strong magic, good abilities (familiar, cerberi, pit lord, efreeti sultan, arch devil), low health, more offensive than defensive, low creature growth)

9. fortress (very slow besides the dragon flies, 1 weak shooter, 2 flyers, good creature growth, poor magic, very good abilities (dragon fly, greater basilisk, mighty gorgon, wyvern monarch, chaos hydra), creatures are weak, average health, mostly offensive)

Strongest or weakest?
I don't know, I think all towns are faily equal (except Conflux who are overpowered)
My favourit town right now is Stronghold though, with Crag Hack. I like might heroes! Fortress with Tazar is really nice too! I'm not a multiplayer though, so my experience is only based on single playing.

2-necro (skells are a real pain in the ass for ure opponent)
3-dungeon (a solid combi of shooter high hp flyer and magic)
4-stronhold (hight atk power and cyclop to siege a castle can be good we used)
5-castle (2 shooters griffs archangels decent combi)
6-conflux (to slow lame and stuff i dont like em at all if u know how to play might be good)
7-rampart(grand bowman rock hard rest sux)
8-inferno (uuuuuuh....expensive uuuhh.....)
9-fortress ( no power at all  onely fast)

Its one for who ever develops a stratergy really (crap spelling*) because really Best is defined by your stratergy really to me in order for my way of playing.

1-Stronghold (smash em Bash em)
2-Conflux (Arguably the most annoying creatures ever)
3-Castle (Speed fighting)
4-Dungeon (minotaurs & dragons ahoy!!!)
5-Tower (a little thunder a little lightning and various spells)
6-Rampant (More annoying creatures + blind = Epic Win)
7-Necropolis (who said army?)
8-Fortress (slimy mucky very sucky)

And there you have it my own opinion of who sucks and who best, just depends on who your fighting really

Oh i almost forgot, Depending on... Where goes what getting epic dragon dwellings turns all plans aside i mean it dont matter who you are if you've got Rust, Fairy, Crystal and Azure dragons in your army its painful for any enemy to see you with em.

Everyone who ranks fortress low, was prolly never crushed by a horde of Wyvern Monarchs on a strong might hero.
And yep that can happen easily on randoms.

So what do you kill first vs. a fortress army?
The Hydras before they manage to attack several stacks?
The gorgons before they dust off your sweet Angels or Dragons?
The big stack of Wyverns? Those annoying flys? The stoning basilisks?
Very weak town indeed...sigh.

And...have you guys been crushed by a throng of Demons?
Or do you know how to farm them? I didnīt think so...

Castle is undefeatable, most of castle creatures are top-notch:

10 week population of halberdiers beat any other 10 week population of level 1 except centaur captains.
10 week population of royal griffins beat any other 10 week population of level 3.
10 week population of crusaders beat any other 10 week population of level 4.
10 week population of champions beat any other 10 week population of level 6 except dread knights.
10 week population of archangels beat any other 10 week population of level 7 except titans and black dragons (would do if angels could cast resurrect on themselves)

Only decent creature castle has are marksmen that do high damage but have poor defense

Only poor creature castle has is zealot/monk that does poor damage and has poor defense, albeit somewhat compensated with being a shooter.

But, when you fight, you fight with your all troops. It's like a team-play. Everybody must do something. It's not lvl 7 vs lvl 7, lvl 6 vs. lvl 6. My favourite is Fortress-Tazar(probably thee best hero I think).

Ok lets do the 1on1 game...

1. Helbadiers wonīt defeat sprites.
2. Royal Griffins wonīt defeat Cerberi
4. Crusaders struggle against Basilisks, Medusa Queens and Ogre Magi.
  They are beaten by Vamp Lords easily.
3. Champions wonīt defeat Naga Queens or Efreet Sultans.
4. Archangels will defeat Black Dragons and Titans easy, but struggle vs. Ancients

and most important: play online =P

Sry but all of this is wrong as Casihasi answered you,thats why there is variation in numbers of troops each week and AAs will kill anyone.But it is all team play,AAs will resurect a lot i needed,or Blackies will help you by there immunity.

1) Conflux:

+ Most powerfull units
+ Strongest Magic (Elementalist start with Wisdom AND X magic)
+ Powerfull Might Heroes
+ Fastest Unit in the game (Phoenix)
+ Elemental Immunities
- Sprites die EASY
- Earth/Fire to weak for their level (phoenix is okay, because it rebirths)

2) Necropolis:

+Easy to get HIGH numbers of Skeletons.
+Necromancy easy boosted
+Powerfull Might and Magic
+Dread Knights
+ Cover of Darkness

3 Dungeon:

+ POWERFULL (!!!) Army
+ Good Heroes (Gunnar, Jeddite, Alamar, Shtaki)
+ Black Dragons
+ Second most powerfull spellcasters (Warlocks > Wizards, easily)
- Trogs are TOO slow
- Fragile Manticores
- High Sulphur and Gold costs

4) Stronghold:

+ Very Powerfull Might
+ Ancient Behemoths
+ Thunderbirds
- Weak Magic
- Goblins & wolfs DIE easily
- Weak shooters
- Ridiculous Crystal costs


5) Castle:

-Hallbardiers, Zealots a bit too weak,
-Marksman quite fragile
+Archangels and Crusaders VERY strong.
+/- Heroes vary from very good to suckily bad. (bad: Sanya, Sylvia good: Valeska, Orrin, Ingham)
+ Second fastest unit in the game
+strongest lvl 7 in the game

6) Rampart:

+ Centaur Captains
+ Unicorns
+ Good specials for Heroes
- Druids...
- Sluggish Dwarves and Dendrois (=> Slow map movement!)

7) Inferno:

- Weak units
- Heretics =>
+ Demon Herding
+ Efreet Rushing
- Heroes statwise inferior to other heroes
+ Archdevils
- Fragile Gogs, Imps, Cerberi


8) Tower:

- Gremlins, Gargs, Genies DIE way too SOON.
- Weak Hero Specials overall (except Neela)
- Alchemists are (imo) the weakest Hero class
+/- strong magic, but easy to counter with Recanter's Cloak
+ Archmagi
+ Naga Queen rushes possible



9) Fortress:

Units are overall (exceptions imo are the Gorgon and the Hydra), weak magic. However, it's fun playing them

not sure how you guys come up with some of this stuff, but it makes me laugh

Listing marksmen as a minus has to be close to blasphemie, are you aware that they are the only unit that can help for a fast week 1 with castle? ^^
And cerberi..not sure what you expect a L3 unit to be like, but it doesnīt get much better than cerberi, grand elves or dragon flies in an online game or a random map, trust me.

Nice Lex but Conflux has most powerfull units,nahh,their units are weak(so are Phoenixes)but their numbers and their immunities and abilities are what is really great.Castle is the one that is most powerfull in units.

Casihasi,grands are best in any on or offline games.But as you get to final fight,take Stronghold as ex.You are mass slowed and grands die to birds in round 1 after they waited.Dragon flies  are great speed boosters,bad AI fighters.
