Much better DS. I just needed your starting stats to determine how effective your abilities are. Oh and I think that elaborating on the different skills involved in Swordsmanship would help you out in the long run.

Vadskye – Your focus ability is vague and I don’t really see how this would work in the practical sense. Perhaps you could be a little more specific. Otherwise I don’t think this ability would work.


I'm going to be using this second page to keep track of all characters and abilities. This page will determine how effective your abilities are and they will change depending on how you use your abilities or if your base stats change.

Note: Right now your abilities may seem a bit weak. But I’m doing this on purpose. You will improve based on what you do. Think of it as though you haven’t used any of these abilities for years.

Reminder: You can have more abilities related to your weapon of choice.


Dragon Slayer:

True Sight: An arrow will always hit its target with perfect accuracy. If the ranger is injured badly, he can still fire an arrow quite well. Within 30 yards fixed targets are always hit. Within 20 yards moving targets are always hit.

Nimbleness: The ranger moves quickly over most terrains. He can easily navigate his way through a dangerous terrain. Can move with slight difficulty under unfamiliar rough or dangerous terrain. Can move with great ease on any friendly terrain. No terrains have become familiar.

Swordsmanship: The ranger is skilled with a sword, short or long.

Tracking: the ranger can track a target a distance away. He notices footprints in the ground and other clues that others would not. He can hear footsteps in the ground from hundreds of meters away by putting his ear to the ground. He is excellent at using maps and his sense of direction. The ranger can track anything a few hours old and can usually track anything a day old.


Asmodean:

Hysteria: Can cause blind panic in an enemy, making them freeze in fear or turn and run. Works consistently against unintelligent foes. Works inconsistently against average foes of average intelligence.

Cure: Heals damage and cures poisons. Can heal light wounds and all weak poisons.

Turn Undead: Can exert mind control over undead creatures. Can use mind control on one or two weak undead creatures.


Vadskye:

Dodge: Dodges an opponent's attack, greatly lowering an opponent's accuracy for one turn. At later levels, dodging will cause the opponent to lose their next turn. At even higher levels, this skill can be combined with attacking skills at the same time. This stat is related to wisdom and athleticism. Can almost always dodge attacks from slow opponents. Quick opponents are usually able to be dodged. Using the dodge ability currently prevents the chance to attack the opponent. You will occasionally get a chance to attack a slow opponent while using this ability.

Dagger Swipe: An attack that slashes the opponent with a dagger/short sword. Very likely to hit but does little damage. At higher Athleticism levels, this attack is less vulnerable and can be done at greater than arm's reach (i.e. lunging). At higher strength levels, this attack does more damage. Deals little damage. Almost always hits a slow or average speed opponent. Quick, elusive opponents are hit often.

Lock Pick: Picks a lock. The percentage of success is relative to Athleticism and Intelligence level. The noise made when the lock is picked is relative the care involved (time taken.) Can open any crude locks quickly and silently. More difficult locks will usually make a loud noise even if you are careful. These locks will only sometimes be able to be opened.


Lord_Woock:

Trading - Allows the character to get sell really expensive and buy really cheap. This is based on a combination of charm and intelligence. 5% gain in profit from buying and selling for each point of intelligence and charm.

Persuasion - Increases the chance of convincing another person that he is right. This is based on charm and intelligence. Can easily convince people who are fickle. Usually cannot convince skeptics.

Negotiation - Ability to avoid combat with an otherwise hostile being e.g. in exchange for items or services. This is based on charm and intelligence. Can almost always avoid combat, but will sometimes have to give very expensive items or great services.

Short blades - Woockardo can use daggers, knives and short swords a lot more effective than any other weapon. This profeciency lets him ignore any athleticism penalties when using one of those weapons for combat purposes only. This ability will be generic. Never able to be improved but will remain at the same effectiveness. Will hit opponents some of the time dealing little damage. On rare occassions will deal medium damage.

You requested for information on my Focus ability, so here it is.  This is taken from the Book of Thieving and Magic, soon to be published by Erion Vadskye.

Focusing on the task at hand is a crucial skill for a thief.  When all else is ignored (hence lowered other stats) and the present task is considered in the mind, the thief may find hidden abilities. (hence raised specialized stat).  When picking a lock, for example, if the thief Focuses, his Intelligence may rise, enabling him to find the solution to an otherwise insolvable puzzle.  However, he would be extremely vulnerable to attack.  The same goes for other skills, like Focusing on being charismatic during a bargain, or Focusing on being athletic when escaping.

Well your short blades ability will enable you to fight, but by no means is it going to be effective. It will be more of a lack of ineffectiveness. I guess it's not bad right now. But you can tryout new abilities whenever you like.

I originally saw the black mansion as your lair, where you were currently putting the rest of the heroes through trials. But I'll see where this way goes anyway.

Anyways - since you re-wrote the thread we can just say that I'm hunting you as you killed all the priests of my temple and stole our artifact. One of those artifacts that went towards building your super artifact.

@Woockardo - (Love the name ). Just read the last few pages and pick a likely spot where you want to join in. RSF can't update you until you enter the thread.

Class: Magic Slayer *A class where the person excels at destroying magic user's. ex.: Mages, wizards, sorcerors. Like a fighter only with a slight magic resistance*

Strength-14
Dexterity-16
Constitution-16
Intellegence-12
Wisdom-12
Charasma-13

Abilities:
I have a slight magic resistance. It will grow more powerful over time as I get experience/level up/etc.
I deal more damage to magic users
Ambi-dextrious, an ability to use a weapon in each hand with no penalty
Weapons:
If possible, I'd like to have a specialty in Scimatar's. I'll have 2, one for each hand.
I'd also like a small ranged weapon of darts if possible. Perhaps 20 that I could carry in a small pouch?
Armor:
Leather armor or something as the such would be fine.

How is this? Is this ok or ?

Okay, I've realized that this thread and Tanaran has undertaken a theme of post then wait for RSF or wait for Dragon Slayer. This seems a bit restrictive to me, so I will encourage you to have some more freedom and post as you wish and try to interact with the other characters a bit more. I will try to have some more interactions between you guys from now on.
