geny, am glad to meet you. i want you to know that i have no ill feelings for any one group of people, unless of course they are haters. this little bulletin that i post here is the way it is here now. if a WASP makes any comment, no matter how innocent it is, it may be construed as racist. For trying to help a co-worker out, he is mexican and doesn't know the language very well, i got into trouble for syaing something racist. all i said was that even when he is talking to other latinos, he should speak english to practice. this is so he can communicate better with his fellow workers. this was construed as racist.

well in israel for state the fixing favoritism(i like that name thenk you very much vladimir )
is used for mostly acadamic and work places
for insteances,if an acadamic faculity have place for 50 students,they have 45 jewish really good students,and keeping 5 snows for minority's essepcily for them,that means that 1 minority will get in,even if he is taking a place of some jewish guy who is 10 times more qualified.

The way I see it, racism is sort of pointless... I mean, it's hatred for the sake of hatred. Following that logic it's the same as hating people who have brown eyes or hair... I can't understand that.
If you must hate something, hate Harry Potter like normal people.
A friend of mine has this theory on racist people; basically, he says, racists are homosexuals who couldn't get black penis so they got angry and started hating all the black people. Which is an interesting, if astonishingly retarded way to counter racism with homophobia.

Similar here in Serbia, only on a bit larger scale (1 minority will get an independent country even if they're taking the territories from a country which has 10 times better standard...) It might not sound fair, but then, no one said it would, as I always say.

Racism certainly is well and alive in the world. The problem I have with racism is that someones race doesn't predetermine the choices they make in life. It's the prejudice thinking someone will behave a certain way just because of a factor they are not in control of that makes racism and sexism so dangerous.

That may be true.
We all make our own choices in our lives.
There are also some races that use thier race to better themselves.
Black people for many examples will use thier past to use against white people.
Oh yea that happens in alot of places.
Then we can get all religious.
Many races are born to hate another race because of different religions also.
Some can not get over the past & they are raised to hate certain races.
It's a reality, it's a fact. We live in a doggy dog world out here & You are wearing Milk Bone Underwear right now Shadey .

I've never seen anything like this, so I guess that in US being a multi-national country and trying to set a standart in Political Correctness the situation is much worse than in here.

Racial Slurs
White descendents of English Americans form the dominant culture in this country. It is they who, when most people think about what it is to be an American, get to define it.
Irish, Germans, French, Spanish, Scandinavian and all sorts of other white pigmented immigrants came over from Europe for their own version of a better life. After these groups were heckled and discriminated against, their descendents were eventually allowed to share in a vision of whiteness and all the benefits it gives. They bought into the idea of what it meant to be white. They embraced the idea of unearned advantage that whites had in this country.
You don't see this advantage? Why the hell do you think middle America is predominantly white? Why the hell do you think farmers are predominantly white? Why the hell do you think these small towns America are predominantly white? Take a look at history. Take a look at the Homestead Act. Take a look at how minorities were prevented from taking advantage of such possibilities. Think of at least four generations of families who were able to pass down their wealth in either the form of cash or other assets to their descendants. When white people pass away, their descendants get a helluva lot more as an inheritance than blacks and hispanics.
The slurs people use against whites are laughable because they bounce off of us. We're the freaking top of the food chain in America and everybody knows it. However, when we as whites use racial slurs we bring to bear centuries of oppression and unearned advantage to the fore.

In my opinion it is profound resistance to true integration by whites that are at the root of the ills of the ghetto. When whites came home from the war in the 40s where were they allowed to go? They were allowed to go back to skid freaking row. Why? 70s come along. Recessions hit and our manufacturing base starts drying up. Chicago alone lost over 300,000+ high income, low education jobs in a matter of twenty years. Guess who were the first workers to be let go? Black and other minority workers. White jobs had to be protected. With rampant joblessness concentrated in these communities with no prospects for any kind of economic betterment, these people turned on each other. Their very survival was at stake. Black men fled their families and turned to drugs. Tearing up of the family structure is pretty ruinous to any community. The real killer for the black community in America, I believe, was the developed belief that receiving a good education was to act "White".
My father taught math for over 30 years at Olive Harvey college in Chicago. The name probably won't mean a hill of beans to you but it's essentially a black school He told me his most accomplished students were the ones that were of African or Caribbean descent. He told me that African American students of his were beaten up by their peers for showing academic talents. He made it very clear to me. "Son," he'd say, "One thing I've learned in my career is that it's very difficult to be different from your friends and your peers. It isn't the spoken rules that weigh down on my students. It's the unspoken assumptions and understandings. No one race or color has a monopoly on ability and talent. Everyone is born with it. It's what you choose to do with it that sets you apart. And many of my students were only able to succeed once they let go of their old friendships and relationships."

More importantly, feel the pressure of doing that everyday feeling the stares and the ill treatment that confirm you are different and for the most part, not welcome.

Hmm...Couldn't Agree More
I have witnessed it for myself: this strange circumstance where blacks actively suppress fellow persons of perceived similar descent (which in many cases they are not culturally similar at all but by the mere coincidence of similarly colored skin) upon learning of their excellent grades. However, in my experience the greatest leverage was not coming from fear of being beaten by them but actually and most unbelievably (!) from fear of not being successful with women of perceived similar descent. Who among us as men could live and grow under such despicable auspices? To see women you are attracted to actually turn you down because you're too smart?! WTF! Talk about a dismal conundrum....it's simply mind boggling. How a group of people would intrinsically choose to do this to themselves after all that history has taught us is beyond my comprehension. An education can be the very thing by which suppressed/oppressed peoples can liberate themselves. It is such a powerful tool and yet some actually buy into a strange stigma about it. It almost reminds me of a cult personality.
The good news is that not all person of a perceived ethnic black descent buy into that ridiculous self-defeating cult of personality. I have met and am friends with black people who are strong, educated, and confident. They do NOT and would not EVER accept such insane philosophies. There is hope. The future is upon us.

People with an ethnic slant usually dramatize the tensions between the dominant culture and the beleaguered values of a minority community. Yes I said dramatized because even though there are issues, there are cases where crying wolf has been problem. For example, we have forever dealt with the clash between the predominantly white, Anglo-Saxon power structure and the dark-skinned aboriginal peoples, who have a long heritage of oppression and exploitation.The fact is that even though I agree with Gootch, there are still some that just won't allow for changes.
However, we need to bring up the under privileged without dismissing the challenges that your middle class white family still has. There has to be a balance between dropping all our resources into the bucket of the legal immigrant, and our system assisting them to get access to the same resources that everyone has.
Would the average white person be able to start an all white college that blacks were not allowed to benefit from, educationally or financially, doubtful? But our ancestors set this in motion many years ago while riding the backs of the African Americans and whipping them with our power, our status if you will.
Unfortunately it becomes a circle that is hard to dismember. We need the oppressed to help them selves or at least adhere to that mentality but at the same time culturally we are all raised with different value systems. There are some things that will be hard pressed to change, ever. The fact that blacks despise the whites for slavery, the Latinos hate everyone but themselves, the Asians rule us academically, and the whites feel as though they belong at the top of the food chain will not change anytime soon.
Now understand not everyone in those classes believes that, so before the hate mail comes let me clear that up. Anyway just a short comment on what I think, I can’t wait for the melting pot of America to start labeling the humans around them as people instead of races, this will not happen during my lifetime.
WOOHOO for Martin Luther King Day, I used to praise the black man for my day off school….

i did give the source its due, and did not say it was mine. i agree with this little piece as i do not believe in racisim. my favorite saying is that we all bleed red. i am also sayi8ng that i don't believe that these things are bad, but i am wondering why i have to pay for the problems that i didn't make.
just recently i have been accuse of making a racist staement, i have never once thought in those terms. i am completely insulted that someone would even accuse me of or even think that i might be some sort of racist.

maybe you they bounce off of you, but anyone that wants to take the racisim on the other side bothers me as well. i believe that no one should be racist or bigot. you can be all upset on my stand here, but i will not back down from it, reverse racism is just as bad, if not worse than racism, for these people should be setting an example, not going down the same gutter as our ancesters.

does this mean i have to believe in it or i have to be apart of it? i know you and you wouldn't have any part of it either, you know me do i resemble any of this? racism works in all direction, and at this point in history, the whites ar not even allowed to have an opinion no matter what.
whites are not the only racists in this country, there are sects in cities that would not allow you to do what you feel you have the right to do. go to the projects and live, try to live as you do now, would they respect you? racism can come from any race, not just the "dominate" race of a country. each community has their own code, try getting a job in one of these communities that are all blac, asain, hispanic. there would be hell to pay if you got a job at the local grocery store in one of those communities.
my point is, that all racisim should be stopped, all. these are my beliefs.

I agree with you but so long as there are people on the earth there will always be at least one jerk to ruin it for all.
The best we can do is try to treat everyone as we ourselves would like to be treated regardless of what color they happen to be.
