Luck+Dread Knights

Alright. Lets do the math first.

Expert Luck- 12.5% Chance to do double dmg
Dread Knights- 20% Chance to do double dmg.

Total- 32.5% Chance to do double dmg.

Now its alright if only one happens. The dmg is doubled and is still the same. But what if U get lucky, and Dread Knights special happens at same time?? Does it overlap, for example..

Player 1 attacks with dread knight, Luck shines on the dread knight etc. Dread knight does double damage..so does it go like..

30x2= 60
60x2=120???

Or do they just count as one??? im just curious.

do the math

12,5% means one of 8 strikes will be a lucky one
20% means the dknights will perform double damage every 6 turns
so when u think of it u will get one of those hits every 112 turns meaning u have a 0.0089 or 1.12% chance to perform it. i guess eventually someone will get it but as u see the chances are ......

hmm... no offense angelito but I wouldn't publicly release that. I think that they are good threads (though you are QP hunting ) but everyone seems to correct you. I dunno what it is but I don't think 1 little thing should drive ppl to correct it. Looking forward to your "How does....exactly" soon. Good info. to know. I liked "logistics exactly" because my main hero about 90% of time is Dessa (Stronghold). It's nice to figure out how that will work.

Hehehe...

First of all, KoM, i donīt have any problems when someone corrects some facts of my threads, coz we all know, that no1 knows everything. So i think itīs very good when people like Xarfax, Wub, Haile and all the other known members try to make one of my threads even better...

Second, Dingo is right. Iīm not qp hunting here. For what?
I like it very much to help other people to get addicted to this game same as i went...

Though english isnīt my native language, all the other forums arenīt that interesting for me, coz itīs very hard to say everthing you want (by heart) in non-native words.
Though sometimes i recognized, that my words were missconcieved.

In the Library, normaly u post only given facts and make some circumstances clearer. No native words needed.
....and no qp aswell

Thought I saw something about this elsewhere? I knew it added together but went ahead and tested it to see if it actually could double up somehow. Tests were with 20 dread knights against small stacks of gremlins and had set out to test it with 500 hits, but I grew bored and stopped at 250 since it was only to see how it added and not a skill test to see if the numbers are correct. No attack/defense on hero etc. Here's the results:

Predicted damage 0.5k-1.1k

Normal Hit
Number of hits: 171
Lowest hit: 682
Highest hit: 871
Average hit: 793.50

Double Damage
Number of hits: 50
Lowest hit: 1042
Highest hit: 1386
Average hit: 1232.82

Lucky Hit
Number of hits: 21
Lowest hit: 1067
Highest hit: 1331
Average hit: 1213.95

Double Damage + Lucky Hit
Number of hits: 8
Lowest hit: 1545
Highest hit: 1887
Average hit: 1718.50

Don't look at the frequency the skills went off since that would need a much larger sample, plus the rng was freaky and all my eight hits where both double damage and luck occured happened in the first 110ish hits. Now on to damage increase compared to normal damage.

Normal: 0
Double damage: +55%
Lucky hit: +53%
Both: +117%

It's a bit off, but let's try and see what happens when we list the hits instead and take the median instead of the average since we have such a small sample here.

1545, 1672, 1672, 1687, 1687, 1776, 1822, 1887.

1687/8= 113%  Closer, and supports the theory I had about it which would be:

Hit where both happened = Normal damage + extra damage from DK special + extra damage from luck

I haven't gone to deep into it to see how for example double damage works, since it will never actually double what it says in your damage window. May be some error, but it is for sure not base damage x 4 like the original poster was wondering about.

Edit: Just noticed some rather faulty math above. 20% is one in five, not one in six, and even when counting with one in six that answer is wrong. Double damage + lucky hit has a 2.5% chance to happen (0.20x0.125). In my test I got 3.2%, but in the first half it was in the 7% range, and 0 in the other, so I will trust in the 2.5% rather than to do a test that's more than ten times as large so I can come to a figure that's for example 2.6 which will be too close to 2.5 so that we can't reliably say that 2.5 is wrong.
