I can connect with Hamachi so the HoMM.exe is working, but with gamespy, it pop up saying "check the path where is installed version, could not connect". I will try again tomorrow and paste here the exact message.

Maybe this is because you have 2 exe files? (wog?)
You copied the setupreg.exe file into your Heroes main folder (where H3.exe is located), and ran it from there?

No, the wog exe has a different name. But I did not run the setupreg from HoMM dir. Good that you remind me, going to try again.
edit: ran setupreg from HoMM and got same error

So far, Hamachi and TcP/IP work both. What is asking gamespy different?
Patched to 3.2 also.
Detail: HoMM disk is dead. Armageddon blade will install, SoD is dead.
So in my install I have exe(original) from AB and exe(cracked) from SoD but not the first HoMM original exe. It may be this the problem. I moved so many times whole install from a drive to another that now it may also be corrupt, however it starts fine IP/Hamachi.

Ok, I think it was because of the cracked exe: it could not be updated to 3.2. I took care with love about my old SoD disk and installed the whole thing once more. Patched to 3.2 and it shows properly the version.
Now trying to set a game on gamespy to see the result.
Edit: Ok it works now. But I wait for AGES before the game starts. I remember thats why I was using a no CD exe. Is there a way to disable that long "check CD"?

@SirNicolas: last few weeks Hamachi works badly. If "star" in Hamachi blinks and if there is no ping, then you will not be able to connect through Hamachi. Use LEAF instead.

Seems like a recurring problem. I have the same problem. Im trying to play someone in Russia while Im playing from America. We can see each others games(most of the time) but cannot connect. We tried through game spy and the same error pops up, "Sorry, there was
an error connecting to that session. Please try again."
If anyone had the same issue please advice. Here's what we have tried.
Same version of the game.
Same version of Hamachi. 1.0.1.5.
Both using vista.
One using vista.
Hosting each and every way.
Gamespy loads the game but give the same error.
Firewalls off.
Routers/no routers didn't make a difference(obviously).
Here's the kicker, I tried connecting my laptop with Vista and my Desktop with XP, they found each other and connected just fine through Hamachi. They were on different "outside" ip at the time.
So it's something that is blocking my friend, but I can't think of anything that could.

Well,i have no idea about it.But 1 time i helped 2 guys to solve smth similar.I hosted a game, told them to join, then i quit and they played. So all u need is to ask 3rd person to host for you and quit, the 2nd person to join becomes host and u play. But im not sure that will work.Hope it does.

This post is a good help archive, though it didn't help me
I have a different problem which is not mentioned here...
I trying to play Heroes 3 Complete on the net but I'm having problem in making it work...
My PC has Two (2) Network Cards, one connects me to the internet and the other one is connected to a secondary computer through wire for LAN etc.
Just for clarification: I don't have a router. I simply have two network cards. one for the Internet and one for the LAN. (hope everything is clear by now)
Anyway, the problem is I can't play heroes on the net because it uses the internal connection adpter instead of using the external, thus when I enter "MultiPlayer----->TCP/IP" I see my PC's internal IP which is 192.168.0.1
The only way I can play on the net is by disabling the LAN adapter and then Heroes has no choice but to use the External adapter, but this is not a solution...
How do I solve this problem?

Heroes mostly shows internal IP, especially when a router is present. But you shouldn't worry about that, you can still use your external IP for connecting. Just let our friend(s) use your external IP when searching for an IP in a multiplayer game. If they can't find the IP, you still can try hamachi or leaf.
