Just a wild guess...are u sure this file isnīt already downloaded and installed, so the progress wonīt go further?
I tried it right now, and had the same thing....no progress...but i have already installed it..

Well, it's definitely not installed on my comp, and I cannot find the installer anywhere.
Maybe it's the actual website that's playing up?

1.Well, I have the same problem as Itachi ("check that the game is properly installed and that the path is correct"). But there's one strange thing: I installed gamespy AFTER installing heroes. What should I do?
2.My local internet connection makes my IP adres shift. I have different internal and external IP, and they change. Is there a way to hold them?

Did that. Nothing happened, except that all my options (game speed etc) were switched to default. Any more ideas? I give up...

Huh?
Your game settings changed? That is strange.
Setupreg.exe has nothing to do with your game settings, as far as i know. Did u ran the setupreg.exe from the correct folder? Do u prolly have installed different heroes 3 games? (like Complete in folder, and AB in another?)

Well, I keep all of my heroes games in one folder. Setupreg has switched all of my settings in heroes on default. That's all. I even tried to clear up my map foldr and lowering my firewall. I am stuck!!!!!!!

A useful tool is probably (I've not tested it under Win to be honest - I use Gwget for GNOME which makes miracles  ) Wget for Windows. You can very well retry for the same file and it will go on from where you were last time you tried. Check it out. It might help you.

ok. I have problem. I would like to play heroes 3 but i can not! I play on college. We have server T3 and on every computer the firewall is instaled! but some games we are able to play and some dont, i mean online. I tried with heroes 3, when i do new/multiplayer/tcp ip/search but it always pops up with the message: windows firewall hs blocked some of the features of this program and when i put ip adress of the oponent it says: that ip adress was not found. So my question is:
1. Is there anyway that i can play heroes 3?
2. Can i put somewhere when i enter ip adress to search open port or ports, and maybe through them, or heroes 3 has default ports?
3. Can you think some other way to play?

Heroes 3 has default ports (look on the first page of this thread, first post). You either can add "Heroes" as exception in your XP firewall, or u have to get access to your server setup and add the needed ports there.

I have a problem when I connect to GamespyArcade.When I click heroes 3 under my games part nothing changes but I can see people in my friend list.I can not see heroes 3 lobby. what can I do ?

Strange error message
Apparently this is the multiplayer troubleshooting thread, so I'll give this a shot.
Just got a new computer, installed HOMM3 Platinum, and set all my ports open in my router. Tried to run a LAN game, and my other computers can see my game in the waiting room, but when they try to join the new computer's game, it stalls for like 30 seconds, then says,
"Sorry, there was an error connecting to that session. Please try again."
I haven't seen that before, and it's weird because things aren't totally blocked (I can see the game), I just can't join. I have turned off Windows Firewall completely (and I added HOMM3 as an exception just in case). I have no other firewalls that I know of, and just to be sure I shut almost every service off that looked weird. The other computers can play with each other just fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.
