The Idiot's Guide to RMG Templates

I'm planning on starting a "little" project called The Idiot's Guide to RMG Templates, a comprehensive guide on the secrets of the random map generator in Heroes 3 AB/SOD/Complete. I'm considering both multiplay and single play templates.

I'm aware of the various threads that discuss it, but a good summary is nowhere to be found, and most of the data is also very incomplete. (Like treasure classes going up to 5000 only with very few separate mentions above it.)

Since my girlfriend decided to dump me, I have lots of free time on my hands and a desire to channel my energy into something creative rather than booze.

And please, keep all tossing/trolling/flaming away from this thread. I know H3 is an old game, but it still has a sizeable fan base.

Anyone interested in parttaking the project, as commentators if nothing else?

Hi rechet,

i would be very happy to find a good list of explainations, how to design a nice template.

I already tried to make a good 2o2-template for our recent german LAN, as the already existing templates are a "way to restricted" in my opinion.

Unfortunately some things are still unknown to me, but i dont have enough time to investigate. So this templates still have some faults in it.

Maybe if u list some of your knowledge here, it may helps me to do it better.

Looking forward

i have a great 2v2 allied template if you are looking for a tougher kind of play. Isnt very rich and you will need teamwork to get through the map as good as possible.
