about hero specialities...

I think that spell-hero-specialities should be improved more. Ability to cast the spell randomly isnīt enough, the effects should get better, too.
For example:
*At high levels Astral could hypnotize creatures with mind-spell immunity..
*Jeddite(/Alamar) could resurrect black dragons after certain level.
*etc...

Also, all heroes with same speciality (like Neela and Tazar with their armorer) should give different additional bonus effects, making the game more complicated and fun.

What about Astral binding monsters permanently?
All creatures that are still hypnotized at the end of combat might be recruited. Perhaps expert airmagic should do.

Ignore my first post in this thread, I have new question about specialities:

This came to my mind when I looked to Brian_the_fists Alter skills-thread:

What if I set hero special ability to one (skill or spell) that isnīt introduced in the original game?
This surely works for direct damage spells, like for example armageddon, cause all the game needs to do is to multiply itīs damage by levels.

But what if I make someones specialty to be blind or ballistics. Or teleport or dimension door or pathfinding?
Does it do anything?

creature specialty

I have another question.

I've modified the script above (return Resurrection specialty to Jeddite). I tried to make him the master of Nightmares:

ZVSE
!?OB3/1/0;
!!HE91:X4/272/5/5/5/0/0; [Set Jeddite's specialty to Nightmares]
!!VRz990:S^Gives + 5 damage, attack and defense bonuses to Nightmares^; [Set up text]
!!UN:G2/91/2/990; [Set Jeddite's speciality text]
!!UN:G2/91/3/272; [Set specialty picture to Nightmares]

It worked, but when I try to view creatures' stats in hero screen or start a battle with a neutral stack, the game crashes.

I get this message:

etc

Could the !!UN:G2 receiver the cause of the problem? By the way, I can't seem to find it in the updated ERM help file. Perhaps I haven't used it properly...

Well duh! The creature format is different from specialty picture format. Problem solved.

Where can I find information?
How can I use a custom image for a new (e.g. spell or monster) speciality?
What can be done to have changed hero stats & portraits show up in the game's hero selection menu?
