Heroes Chronicles - Final Chapters

Hello all,

on my "quest" to find some heroes chronicles games, I managed to find Heroes Community! What a great site!

I have bought the first 4 of heroes chronicles games (after a lot of pain --finally got them from ebay) and downloaded the 2 bonus campaigns but I abosnowely can't find the last 2 chronicles (Revolt of the Beastmasters and The Sword of Frost), which are also called the Final Chapters, from what I understand. These two are impossible to find anywhere on the web or any retailer!

My question is, do you know anybody who is selling them? Or, now that 3DO is unfortunately dead, is there any place where I could download them? I am a Might and Magic fan since 1993, and have bought and played all these years all the 9 Might and Magics, Heroes I, Heroes II + exp pack, Heroes III + 2 exp packs and even the not-so-good (in my opinion) Heroes IV (with its 2 exp packs). This is the
greatest series of games of all time I would be grateful for any information...

By the way, while searching through the forums I have
seen a post with links to those two campains, but the
links (and the website itself) seems to be dead. The links where :

http://heroworld.net/heroes3site/Download/Beastmasters.h3c
http://heroworld.net/heroes3site/Download/Frost.h3c

Thank you very much for your time,

Hmm... I've been looking for those, and I think the only chance to get your hands on them is to find them at some local shop somewhere in the dessert. Or at E-bay or somewere else.

They were only sold in Britain.

...Personally I really wish I had The Sword of Frost... that would be the pinnacle of the series... since it's the reason that the world of HOMM III was destroyed

Thanks

Oh dear, I did not realise other people are looking for those too :-) So, 3DO released the final chapters ONLY in he UK? But how? I mean, wasn't 3DO based in the US? Weren't these games developed in the US? How come they were only released in the UK?

But anyway, this is actually good news to me since I live in Nottingham, UK. So I'll try every second-hand game shop there is and have a look at the adds on local newspapers.
I wish Ubisoft (who are making Heroes V, I believe) re-released the Heroes Chronicles games in all countries so that *everyone* could grab a copy :-)

Thanks again guys, (or as we say here, cheers!)

Hi!  Oldish newb here.  Looks like I'm not the only one having trouble finding the Final Chapters for sale.

Um, those .h3c links..  They're just the maps from HC:FC ported to work in HoMM3, not the actual game, yes?

And while I'm here, I have a question about Warriors of Might and Magic.  Was that released for the PC?  I've seen hints and rumors that it was, but I can only find the PS2 version of the game.

I managed to buy (but not yet receive) all the other games in the series, but HC:FC and WoMM are very elusive.  Help, please!

To errator:
No I haven't found them yet. I keep looking though :-)

To skwerly:
I believe the .h3c files are "heroes 3 campaign files"
and are probably just the maps for the final chapters,
without the intro/outro animations and voiceover. But
they should play the same I believe. Anyway when you
usually start a scenario (in a campaign made by 3DO)
there is some text that just repeats (with different
wording) what the intro animation and the voiceover
said earlier on.

About "Warriors of Might & Magic": I though this game
was only released for the PS2, not the PC. There is
another game called "Crusaders of Might & Magic" that
plays like quake/unreal and that was released for the
PC... ages ago :-)

LINKS WORK!!!

Hey people,

the links that were not working (because the web site was down) now work. I was able to get the sword of frost and the revolt of the beastmasters from them. The web site has more HCs to dowload as well.

Now, if someone could tell me how we use those h3c files...
Where do they go (e.g. maps directory?) and how do I load
them (e.g. load campaign? new campaign?) I don't need to have WoG installed do I?

Thanks a million,

  cym

The links for the final chapters are:

Hi cymepa,

If you want to play the .h3c files that you have dowloaded, you must have Heroes 3: "Restoration of Erathia" or "Shadow of Death" installed on your computer. If it's the case (and I don't doubt that it is), all you have to do is to put them in the "Maps" sub-folder of your Heroes 3 installation. Then start the game and choose "New Game", "Campaign" and "Custom". You should see your two files.

By the way, thanks a lot for the links!!!

Les

Hi Daddy,

(sorry for my late answer)

Maybe it's my error after all. I said that RoE was a valid choice but I'm not sure since the cheat codes of the four first Chronicles was those of the "Shadow of Death" expansion pack. I'm playing the "Revenge of the Beastmasters" (the custom campaign that I've downloaded)with "Shadow of Death" and there is no problem until now (I'm beginning the 5th scenario). Maybe some features of the two (downloaded) last chronicles are not compatible with RoE or AB and make the game crash. If you don't have SoD, you can always try AB (more recent) with all the patches but I'm not sure that will work...

Good luck!

Hi all,

funny that. I am playing Heroes III since 1999 and I had
never noticed that you can load a custom campaign game!
(shame on me, really!)

Yes, Les, I do have, of course, RoE + AB + SoD installed.
I will try today later on to load the campaigns.

Cheers,

Hi,

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that you must have SoD to play the two campaigns. If you have SoD, then Daddy, I strongly suggest that you switch to it before playing these campaigns. Maybe AB is equally working but I can't test it since I lend it to my brother. Well, could cymepa test it for us?
