5 Favourite Artifacts

What are tour favourite artifact for Heroes 2 and/or Heroes 3? Please explain why, and please include either one or no ultimate artifact.

My favourite artifacts:
Homm2
Ultimate Staff
It is quite useful when you have a sorceress, a warlock, a wizard or a necromancer. These heroes use magic a lot especially warlock and wizard, which I usually play. With ultimate staff you get 6 spell power points (Duration of your spells is longer, and their effectivness is stronger), and you get 6 knowledge (60 more mana)
True Compass of Mobility
I like this artifact because I usually play XL or L maps, where you need to use speed to get where you want. It is not hard to get.
Spell book (of course)
You need spells
Seeing-eye Pendant
I usually get blind spells cast by the opponent.
Foremost scroll of Knowledge
50 more mana

I usually need mana points a lot because I use Amaggedon or Dimension doors very often.

Please write you favourite artifacts, for Homm2 or Homm3 or both.

1.the best non combo artifact in heroes 3 is angel wings of course. If you get this artifact, you'll win pretty easily.
2.out of combination artifacts i would say angelic alliance and power of dragon father.
Cloak of undead king is just awesome if you have a necropolis hero, otherwise it is useless.
3. golden bow does wonders for shooters based armies
4. spell binder's hat for magic heroes
5. any magic tome and orb

hi xarfax
could you please explain me what's so great about spirit of oppresion. i only use it when i'm playing necropolice or when i have low morale because of different diplomacy troops. other than that i sacrifice it and hourglass of evil hour for xp.
besides you can always have high morale because of many morale raising artifacts and visiting places and leadership of course.

Well... Angels Wings and the Golden Bow = very nice... Helm of Heavenly Enlightment (correct?) is not that bad...
But once a very silly (yes, silly) thing happeden to me: I got the Armageddons Blade when my strongest hero was at level 5! I played another map.

its real mighty in fights against the map. dont u know this?:
u have a real perfect plan, u exactly know, what the ai will do and move. ur in a very tricky fight and then it comes, the great "AAAAARGH, WHY has THIS stack to get morale???? every stack in every round, but not THIS NOW"....

the spirit gives u the opportunity to calculate a fight before starting it, this allows u to make much more and bigger fights as if u has to calculate with the goodknown "dwarfenmorale"... btw, im realy sure, that the ai is cheating :-)

You would understand if you read the posts carefully.

The AI works in accordance to a strict plan. There's no randomness in it's behavior. This means that you can predict every single move of the AI if you know how it works. The only thing that can surprise you is when the AI gets morale, but the spirit of oppression eliminates this possibility.

Another thing about the spirit of oppression is that it lets you mix armies without morale penalties.

indeed

one reason that my favourite fighting creatures was skels+zombies early on in game is that you would know exactly what they would do since they never get morale.

tactics is also a great battleplanner, not only to block your shooters and such. But you can also put them at a map so most of enemy units will go against them and you can wait with your fastest unit.. that way you get a freeshot with hopefully full dmg with your shooters and you can tease the opponent creatures away where you want em first round.

Tactics also is great because.. lets say you are about to attack for a dragdwell first week. Then you can move one lvl 1 unit at a step where the drag will reach it. So when the battle starts it will attack that unit and you can attack the drag stack with one other lvl 1 unit to take the retal and then attack it with your powerstack.

And with some luck you then kill off 2 drags first round, meaning the drag stack will just attack you with one drag thats left. Thats no big losses at all.

But lets say that the 3 drags get morale after first strike.. then they will go for the powerstack most of the times and you can lose a battle that you would win without any problems whatsoever otherwise.

What? I thought the spirit of oppression negates all morale effects, even the negative ones! Does that mean I was wrong all those years?
