hmm i have a question and i think it can best placed here i found a artifact on the map that i downloaded and it gives you all spellpoints back in 1 turn. the name i dont know any more. there was a strange thing i could not equip it and my friend where i was playing with (hotseat) could not equip it to i have it more times (also with a head that cancels that if you go in a ship you lose your walk points)

why cant you eqiup some items????

hi

i'm not really sure i understood your problem, but from what i can reckon from your description of that artie, it must be a combo or as it si really called a combined artifact.The reason you cannot equip it is because it is made by several individual arties so probably the slots those arties required were filled by other arties. I suggest removing all your artifacts from your hero and placing them in your backpack ant then try to equip that artie.It should work.

The artefact u are talking about is the "Wizards well". It can be assembled with the 3 different arties which give u back 1-3 spellpoits a day (charm, talisman, orb)
You need all the slots free where u normaly would put the single arties in, only then u can equip the combo artie. When u have equipped this combo artie, u will see the artie on your hero, and also 2 more slots "locked". If u rightclick the artie while it is equipped, u are able to dissamble it into the 3 original arties. With that way, u can check all combo arties and from which single arties they are made of.

speaking of arti combos, would it be easier if you could right click the artifact and it gives you a)the description of the arti but b) what it can be combined with??

After playing a few games against the earth book (or with it against someone who doesn't have one) I have to say that the #1 non-combo artifact is the Tome of Eath magic. By Far. It has:
TOWN PORTAL - this will put you AT LEAST half a week ahead of your opponent. It will also allow you to easily defend all of your towns, kill any enemies within the walking distance of any of your towns and regain your mana at the end of every turn. You'll also be able to get the extra movement from your fastest creature without risking getting caught without the rest of your army.
RESURRECTION - this will allow you to win ANY map fight with no losses.
IMPLOSION - well, no comments here. Destroy their level 7, then level 6, etc. Can't beat that.
EARTH ELEMENTAL - MASSIVE HP bank. And quite  often the strongest powerstack on the battlefield (obviously you should have expert earth magic to go with it).
SLOW, SHIELD, and other must-have spells that are occasionally impossible to get otherwise. (Happened to me in more than one game.)

The earth book will easily beat HOHE (not to mention that it will most likely help you get to the HOHE before your opponent gets it )

Since I just fully realized the power of it the other day, my first choice has to be the Orb of Vulnerability. I used to think nothing of it because I thought it countered the hero secondary skill of resistance. When I found out it allowed me to cast Berserk on Firebirds, Black Dragons, and even the undead, I was grinning ear to ear.

Then the usual list of relic artifacts: Book of Earth, Book of Air, or Spellbinder's Hat.

If you have access to good creatures to abuse it with, the Armageddon Blade is nice. Back when I played AB, I saw that often enough. In Complete, I can't recall ever seeing it. Did they remove it?

Favorite artifacts

Homm3: I will not put the combo artifacts.
-Helm of heavenly elinghtment( 6 of all primary skills )
-Orb of innibition( i dont like spells so much)
-Boots of speed or Equestrian Gloves( more steps are essencial )
-Pendant of Courage(+3 Morale and Luck are a powerful weapon to win )
-Angel feather arrows ( more power to the ranged units )
If i can put a combo artifact:
Angelic Alliance ( cause it works in all my troops and is vry powerful )

well here are my best 5 artifacts(homm2 with a wizard hero)

1st-Golden staff
2nd-Ankh (very usefull to ressurect)
3rd-Boots of travell
4th-true compass of mobility
5th-lightning rod(50% damage to enemy troops when used lightning spells)

no one has mentioned bow of the sharpshooter.  It takes up three slots but it makes your shooters sharp shooters and adds 30% to your archery shot.

You can't equip all that artifacts in one hero.

I think the best artifacts are:

1. Wizard's well (doesn't help in combat, but very useful)
2. Golden bow
3. Admiral's hat (only when the map requires sea travelling, I exchange it with the Dragon's power bellow while in water)
4. Orb of Vulnerability
5. Power of the Dragon Father (the bad thing is that it protects your  units from friendly spells)

I wouldn't say that the Wizard Well is verry useful. I would preffer Ogre's Club of Havoc anytime.

Yes, but I don't play without spells, especially against hard Enemies. Once Ive beaten 8000 Black Dragons ONLY with the orb of vulnerability and "Berserk"
