Corribus would probably do a pretty good job, if he was interested. So would Doomforge or Bak.

LOL, Doomforge most definitely not. Too stubborn and arrogant to be a moderator oh and he's hardly neutral for the place.

Remember that not all fora are about rock throwing and bashing. Not that I want to draw unwanted attention to certain parts of the community, but there are some places here that are actually pretty peaceful and which require other talents than mass-bashing-without-being-mobbed.

Like I said to you in pm my friend, I reckon a member that doesn't post much in the OSM would be better. Somebody who doesn't engage in any debates but will actually moderate the forum, enforce the rules and so on.

I believe I have what it takes to moderate the OSM, but I for one would never take the job. It's just too unpleasant and time consuming, to put it lightly.

Stubborn is necessary for that place
I'm very netural, I don't know what you're talking about. Hope you don't mean my party and love attitude. That hardly matters for a mod, doesn't it...
However I agree that Corribus would be best there. Sadly, he doesn't want to.

No, no. Not your opinions about partying and love. It's just that your stubbornness and arrogance aren't best suited to a place like that, in my opinion. I also very much doubt you'd even want to be a moderator there anyway?
Oh and I don't mean any offense by what I said by the way, just so you know.

I took none. I wouldn't mind helping the HC, actually. If Val needs a mod and nobody better than me volunteers, I can do it.
If you really want to know I was a moderator at polish biggest Warcraft3 portal for years, and OSM is child play compared to troll nest that was there.

Good luck to whoever takes it, if anyone. Moderating the OSM should be grounds for the Medal of Honor.

Yes, I know you meant it as a joke but I could make an excellent moderator if I wished to. I do not.
Moderators should enforce the exact same standards for every person posting in the forum regardless of if the person agrees with the moderator's positions on different issues. If a moderator is a theist he should not use biased moderation against anti-theists. If he is an anti-theist he should not use biased moderation againt the posts of theists.
Moderators of a the OSM need to get together and decide exactly what they are going to enforce in the OSM and state their policies in clear language. If different moderators enforce things differently there is only confusion.
Oh, and moderators popping in to interfere with the moderation of the OSM moderators should not be allowed. That causes confusion and is unfair to the OSM moderators and the other posters.
Moderation needs to be fair and consistant.

There's a basic difference between a good user and a good moderator.
Good user doesn't care for the form of the post, but cares much for arguments within. And ignores it if it's improper aka trolling, flaming or utterly pointless.
vice versa for good mod
Moderator doesn't care for the arguments used (not his job to judge), but sure does care for the form of the form of the post. (i.e. flaming, trolling, and such.)

Perhaps the OSM needs its participants to think about things by themselves. What good would an extra moderator do?

While I don't know about the modsquad, yes - back in May he told me this:
quote: I’m currently involved in a huge work project (next 10 months) and don’t have time to do anything...
He still fixes the issues I report, though (as recently as November). You can probably still alert him to things at webmaster-[at sign]-heroesofmightandmagic.com.
