nice i finally see some recognisition has gotten to TT. I only checked through the first 40 pages now though, is it the whole thread that has been checked now?

Hmm
It's times like this that I truly do not envy the job of a Moderator. Ugh...to think how they'd have to go through that entire thread in light of Sir_Stiven's unending rants. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it simply to get him to stop complaining.
To Mods: I feel sorry for you. I'd never want to be Mod for this exact reason.

Nope, still not finished yet, but should be by the end of the week. I'll will post here to say when it's complete.
In the mean time people, notice that Tosser's Tavern is under moderator scrutiny atm, sooooo if you were to make a quality post while it's under my watchful eye, you might just find yourself rewarded 
And again, I just cannot stress this enough...

its times like this i truely not envy the job of a Moderator. Ugh.. i prefer having myself cleaned during my showers not by others kissing
and for the record, that wasnt even a complain but rather a good comment about that TT has been watched through.

I've emailed Valeriy about the CP, but I should also raise it it modsquad for the others to look at - will do that now
Sorry (again!) for not being around as often. Its the last two weeks of school for my kids, so there have been assemblys and a dance festival and all sorts of different things for parent's to attend to lately. Its a real joy hanging out in a packed auditorium with no air conditioning
I think those lil events are done now tho after todays "farewell to the teachers" assembly. At leas I hope that's it, cuz I believe attending one more might just kill me

Im just wondering if the back and forth joking insults are considered spam in that thread...
(im having a tough go trying to be sure that I don't tick people off!)
If the thread is for tossin', alot of the "orders or toss items" could be considered spam. so can you clarify what is a toss to you guys and what's spam?

i dont have a problem with the tosses as long as they have thought put into them.
But when posts consists only of
"smash bottles on your head"
"orders beer"
"where is my beer"
"where is my chips"
etc
...its obvious that the post has no intention of sparking a further discussion nor has any thought put into it whatsoever.
IMO its the purpose that matters, i have no problem with posts like "hey [short question] and give me a beer" if it seems the post is made to kick off a discussion.
But thoughtless one liners just kills off the discussion.
Even if it might seem like a slight difference its of big importance.
Coming to think about it i think this has been much of the case at whole tavern part recently.
Boring threads are taking over and the good discussions gets kicked down the pages.. and the quality gets reduced.
Its a shame our mods has been busy because it shows more and more how important a frequent maintaindance is.

I find Pandora adressed some of the issues Stephan has just mentionned in a very useful way in the Tribunal.
I read that thread as soon as Pan posted it and it was very useful. I encourage others to go take a look at it.

the last few times I've seen anti-spam warnings being issued, I always felt that it was directed to me.
I think it may help if people added names or examples of recent posts that are spam and that are not appreciated..
Pan has posted "no more spam" comments lately and they always seem to be shortly after I've posted something...
if ever you notice that Im spamming the thread,
please let me know. (not necessarily in front of everyone!! )

Generally, I think spam happens the most as a gut reaction to a post. When it generally gets out of hand is when its just a few people back and forthing with one liners.
Sure it can be amusing sometimes, but more often than not, its only funny to those involved - to others its viewed as a distraction, and often a detriment to the thread.
The one on one exchanges and chitchat are best left to the Wastelands, or over instant messaging.
Its really a matter of using discretion and recognizing your own motive in posting I suppose, it's a difficult thing to try to clearly explain.
If you're posting a joke for example, ask yourself it it will be amusing to everyone who reads it, or is it just specifically meant to respond to the post above you? If its just a response, did you compose it without thinking about what you were writing, and click the submit button within 30 seconds of clicking the post reply button? Or did you put some thought into making it something worth reading for everyone?
I'm not trying to give any explanation as to what a person can or can't say, or how they should write. When it comes to posting, its hard to make any one set rule, and if we were to try we would lose the fun in posting at all - what I'm trying to do is offer some insight as to what I see as spam , and how I percieve it is happening.
It would be easy to say 1 line reply is spam, but sometimes oneliners are great. I suppose if you notice that you're playing TPAM in threads that aren't TPAM, you're probably spamming.

lol, make that one into a oneliner and it would be a good one
Though i dont agree with all of that post either. If one were to take into concideration what everyone thought of the post there would be no threads to post in at all... except varauas threads then as he would be to busy making new posts instead of learning the concept
Frankly, i dont care usually what other people think except when im in a serious discussion and try to get my point across.
But when it comes to jokes... never.
Besides.. if i were to think into concideration if everyone would like it.. there would be noone to make fun of
Still i usually do put in an effort in my oneliners, and once again i think thats where you have to judge this. If the post has a thought behind it except warming up for spam olympics i think its ok. Otherwise - no.
EDIT:
oh and btw.. FFS. Its Stiven or Stefan, not something there inbetween

Well, its not so much that you have to compose a post to please the masses - my general meaning is that if you're posting just to chit chat with one person, or to type a *lol* at one joke, its probably spam.
Sometimes spam is good and it works, i guess that's like, extra lean spam or something - i've seen random humour spin a thread in a whole new and better direction.

I haven't written up anything yet about the points, as I had hoped to talk with some of the other mods about how they feel before just going off and doing something.
I did speak with Valeriy and its a I just figure speaking with the others might be a good idea, and could help to come up with some criteria etc.
Basically I just want a bit more feedback, and to know if they will also use the system - it would be silly if I end up being the only one
