First of all, it is a perfect Tavern thread. the Inn is there to help the newbies, the Tavern is to socialize with other members.
As for sticking it... I don't think that thread is important enough for that.

I will put the question in different way only for those with imagination, balnced one
If you were an newbie would you want to see that thread in Newcommers Inn(Alternativly glued in Tavern)
Now the Members Clock is in a little mess because the updated "Clock" is somewhere in the end so the first page is rather confusing.
If it were in Newcomers Inn there would be probably more work for Miru to update it. Solution could be that only 2 or 3 star members can be putted on that clock.
Who is next for opinion please

Everyone eventually finds his way to the tavern, besides the thread's content makes the most sense to be here. The newcomer's inn is for introduction only. As for making it a sticky it's not really important.

I vote to link that Member Clock thread in a newcomer sticky one that already exists, such as this. It will sure be easier to be found that way.
Or alternatively, display the timezone of the users (those that want, of course) in their profile. But this would require a system modification and I'm not sure Val wants it.

I really think Doomforge's literary criticism in this thread deserves a qp. I've collected the best bits here:

I wonder why LOTR is so over hyped, anyway. It's a decent book, with a detailed word and interesting narration, yes, but the story is boring and the characters suck. Epic, meet Shallow.
To say "it's because it's from mortal human's POV" is a poor excuse to me. So if I write a book about an primitive man, everything and everyone should be primitive and revolve around food and sex? Come on, it's stupid.

And another thing. If you want to show evil, you have to back it up with something. Something MOVING. Not the cheesy "he wants to rule the world", or "he killed 3087527 elves". That is not evil - it's kindergarden.
Evil MUST be dirty to seem and feel EVIL. It should be twisted and the more complex the motives are, the better. LOTR has the most shallow evil around - just another power-hungry maniac, evil because he's ... well.. evil.
The BEST books to me are those who go BEYOND the childish, predictable good and evil. Those who show that good and evil is relative. That you sometimes aren't sure anymore what is good and what is evil. Where the differences between good and evil are separated by a thin, red line.

Take Sapkowski's Elves. Those were so different, so real, with their haughty, poetic hatred towards humans. But not all were like that. Some just understood that it's the end of their age. Some even were friendly towards humans. Each elf in "The Witcher" was a personality of his/hers own. Try that book, I'm sure you will be amazed of how well he portrayed the Elves. Even if his dwarves were a bit too similar to each other, elves were brilliant.
Tolkien's elves are poorly portrayed. They are all the same.

and you ask what of it? Well, simple. Anyone can. It doesn't take genious. Say, you want a different humanoid race? You make them shorts, you make their ears pointy, you make them ugly, you make them beautiful, you just pretty much modify their appearance. Voila, a fantasy race.
Now for the culture. Grab a pencil and start throwing in names and dates, battles, victories and defeats. So, in the year 1001 of the third age, the great city of Itsoverninethousand has been established, later transformed into the capital city of all people of the Whatever Empire, in the year 1208 of fourth age, the great king Shoopusdawhoopus used his sword Immafirinmalazor to defeat the evil Lord Octagonapus. The sword broke in half but it still powerful, if reforged, to bring end to the war of the sixth age and our heroes just need to find it and carry it into the last epic battle against evil, after which everything ends and a new era begins..
Duh, everyone can do that, mate. Alphabet? What the heck. Draw some runes, any will do, assign them letters, voila! What's more, poetry? if you're talented enough, you can add a romantic, nihlistic or whatever twist to normal one and there you go.
What else? What honestly has he created beside history, culture, alphabet, and so on? I can do it to. Anyone can.

May I say two things:
1) I don't ever want to do someone their QP.
2) Though, he put this into more diplomatic terms... Doomforge literally just had a rant with little points to make other than LOTR being shallow.
3) You want me to get passages from I gave up on believing in God to ask for QP'?
(wasn't a real threat to the mods)

I do agree on the last quoted post, though. Though, there're few people motivated enough to do just that and keep continuity straight. It's possible to study Tolkien's work, like some people can study the medieval or classical era. (last sentense is nothing but an opinion. Ignore that as you may)
And there's been the discussion about whether we should give QP's to genius thorough posts or shorter collections of posts that have quality. I don't know what the mod verdict was, but this is definitely the latter and was IIRC looked negatively upon...
Now, i feel like a backseat moderator, so i'll go wash myself and you guys can delete this post, while I'm not looking...
