This is my first attempt at a setting for my story. The hard part will be making the tree and Edwin leaping off the roof into it.
Edit - I'm not in the guild? I thought I was. According to the memberlist I'm not.

Also I copied the Shirastro drawing to send Daddy earlier because he couldn't see it. Now I can't either - so I thought I'd post it for everyone else. Shirastro you should try the HC upload center

Okay, here is sth - hope it helps
(i didnt mix very specific or naturalistic colors, just for the record )
1.
First, draw the outlines and fill them with color Lookc, how you want the branches to grow - as they are the main "sahpeing-factor" It is allways neat, to have one grow to the side and one a bit more to the front imo
2.
Then, I give it some roots above the ground for more plasticy of the pic - And I draw some lines to mimic the wood-structure.
3.
Now shading. a darker color to make it a bit more plasic, placing shades at places, where it looks good and some more to have more color-variety. of corse one could use different tones of brown here-but for simplicity(or so^^) I just used one here
And I let some Grass grow along the roots to let the tree look more "in" the ground and to get rid of them not-so-beautiful outlines there
4.
The crown - mix a nice green (probaply better then this here) and draw the outlines of where the leaves should be.
5.
Feel free to use different colors at the crown again, for more variety Also, u might want to cover a bit of the strunk(or how its called) and branches with green, as in nature the leaves are all around them and not behind

That actually helped a lot. Thank you very much. The only hard part will be doing that at night. And I think I'll put moss under the tree instead. Thanks a lot though.
