ok, this may seem weird, but can someone help me?

Can you guys give me your opinion on what is the best and most accesible way to commit suicide? I'm thinking hanging, or taking 30 aspirins with two bottles of vodka. I think the last one is better. Can you give me a sugestion.

P.S- I'm dead serious.

Not sure which method is better, but here is a list of vodka brands:

1) Pravda
2) Rain
3) Three Olives
4) Stolichnaya
5) Level
6) Due
7) Svedka
8) 42 Below
9) Chopin
10) Vox
11) Citadelle
12) Thor’s Hammer
13) Skyy
14) Absolut
15) Seagram’s Extra Smooth
16) Turi
17) Grey Goose
18) Beyond
19) Smirnoff
20) Wyborowa
21) Belvedere
22) Monopolowa

I think #12, Thor's Hammer, or #9, Chopin, would be a nice vodka choice.  Having a last drink with the Norse God of Thunder or one of the world's greatest composers speaks volumes about character, does it not?

Edit: On second thought...If you are truly contemplating taking your own life, then don't do it.

Drink the vodka with some friends.  Have fun.  Get naked. Enjoy life.  Save the 30 aspirins for the morning hangovers.

Having a conscience is not always a good thing, people.

Those are both wretched deaths.

If you really can't think of anything else other than death, try sleep.  It takes away the pain for a while, it's not as permanent, and it will clear up the murk a bit.  One day at a time...

Or ask this question of someone in your real life.  They can do more for you than anyone on the Internet.

Suicides: If you're up for some reading, this thread should give you some idea what kind of grief your loved ones will suffer if you go through with any suicide plan.

frostwolf, this might sound really stupid, what I'm about to say.
Imagine you're playing a heroes game. And you are off to a bad start (no wood mine around). And you're so desperate, that you want to quit the game. But if you play a bit more, then just maybe you'll find what you're looking for just around that next corner. And just maybe you'll win in the end. Play that game until the end, man. There's no restart in real life.

These are some words from a danish 16 year old boy.

Don't take your life, there is always some kind of joy out there, for you.

You could take a well paid long education, end up rich, everyone loves a rich nice man.

Get a girlfriend, that REALLY helps you.

Hang out with some old friends, it really helps.

Talk to your parents about it, it's a nice step in the right direction.

I have a friend which wanted to commit suicide, she didn't tell anybody, she wanted to do it without telling anyone, she was "dead" serious. She was down for a few weeks, and one day i wanted to talk to here about it, because i noticed something was wrong, she always seemed so happy, or she used to. Well, so one day i came to visit here, the door was locked but i knew she was in there(here keys were on the table, along with here phone, and a empty box of pills.) and i broke the window and crawled in, and noticed here lieing in the bathtub, looking deadlike. So i called an ambulance, cause i couldn't get here out of here "trance" like statement. I got here out of the bathtub and out on the floor, they came and the first one said "lort, hun er død!"(which means, crap, she's dead!) But they sensed a pulls. They got here to the hospital(along with me) and i phoned here mom at work(i took here mobile with me) She survived. But died 3 weeks later.. She was a very good friend, she seriously didn't seem like the person that would do it, she always seemed happy(until the 2 weeks before) There were no letters, no nothing, She just wanted to die, but i expected it the last time, it was like here "essence" had left here body, she wasn't the same. She was a good friend... i really cared about here, very deeply. i had cuts on my legs after getting in through the big window(big kitchen one) They said that she didn't take all 2 many pills, but she would have died if i didn't get to here, but i was quick after she had taken them.

And i'm not lieing, or kidding, i'm serious to the bone, i would never lie about this kind of stuff, NEVER.

The morale of it all? Maybe you seem alone and all of that, someone out there cares for you, and wishes you to stay, suicide is an easy way out, stay in there and fight. Best wishes, your pal.

thats ignorance, ignorance is bliss. Oblivion is dull, and well empty.

but on a more serious note, I have never known anyone to commit suicide (its rare here) but I know if you were to do it, you would be hurting alot of people. more then you would even think.

Suicide is the final choice, and its not to be taken light heartidly, if you make a mistake and kill yourself when you shouldnt its not something you can take back. The only times I personnaly think Suicide may be a viable option, is if you are nearly dead already i.e quadrapalegic and in massive pain, or bedridden for life. you seem to be a perfectly abled body, and it would be a waste to end your life.

suicide is not the answer even if you do wish to die. why dont you die fighting for a cause, join the army and protect your country, if you die, you will die with honour and respect, you will most likely make friends as well, and decide you were wrong to choose death.

Things can get pretty grim, things can get pretty bad but there's one certainty in life frostwolf.  What does not kill you makes you stronger.

You clearly have a burden to carry and it's not gonna get lighter.  But as you're suffering forward up the mountain, somewhere it has to start becoming less steep until at some point you reach the top and can put it all behind you and let it all roll.  Don't worry if you think it would become too heavy, and even if it may look as there's no one to help you are never alone.

Carry your burden up that mountain and accept the hands reaching out to you to help and you will beat this and come out of it stronger, stronger than you were before.  Take that from someone who's been there up that mountain, someone who's reaching you a hand right now.

Take care man.  You're not alone.

Ok, let me tell you we're I'm standing. Everybody is convinced that i have a burden to carry and I can't take it anymore. That is not true. Maybe I'm mad, but why I consider suicide is not because what I don't have or what I do have, but because I consider it all to be 'shadows and dust'. Will this will never be put clearly, let me try to explain a bit:

Let's start with money and society. I am somewhat of an anarchist, and find todays world to be simply too destructive to be worth living for. If I cold destroy everything and make us go back to living in wooden huts, i wouldn't hesitate. All the things that come with todays society, like politics, the mentality, I don't like any of it. I know this one doesn't make much sense, I'll try to explain it later.

Secondly, I despise money. I despise materialism, I ask for no money and would gladly die poor, in fact I would chose to be so poor as to die of hunger or lack of shelter if that would help the world in any way. Of course, it wouldn't. Because of my hate for money and society, I consequently have no desire to be part of a comunity and have social status.

Thirdly, I am an atheist, or in order not to start another side thread, i have no religious beliefs. I do not belive in afterlife and all of that. My passion is history, and that links with theology and philosophy. Trough my studies, I have yet to find a religion that would seem to comfort me in any way, not to mention the sort of 'spiritual enlightement/peace' everyone desires. So, religion is a void argument for me.

Forth argument; I mentioned earlyer I like history. For a while, I dedicated my life to the quest for knowlege. I studied a lot, and i liked what I did, and i just strived to always know more, keep an open mind, be able to have more than one view on a thing, become a true wise man. It soon came to me that no matter how hard I would work perfection could not be achived in the study of history nor philosophy, for we are limited by our own minds. Plus, I am sick of seeing brilliant minds wasted away because the sistem, or the world, or whoever you want to blame doesn't give them a chance. So I gave up my quest for knowlege.

Number five, the big L: love. While I do belive in love, I do not consider it to be the thing that gives reason to one's life. I will not enter on a debate on love here, as we all have different views on it, and it has it's pros and cons. However, it doesn't give me anymore hope.

Ok, I've cleared up some things. I also am, by the way, disgusted, and I mean that literally, by the world today. People make me sick. I'm not talking about everybody, and I'm not refering to anybody here or any one I appreciate. I'm talking about the majority of the world. About the masses of people without culture, people without dreams, people with narrow minds, people who's sole purpose reduces to that of perpetuating the human race. And all the things that come with them; the lies, the evil, the lack of moral and ethics, the ignorance, the stupidity, the violence, the unjustified hatred, and how blind they all are. I hate that too.
And I'm not very atached to worldly things, such as pleasures of food, drink, sex, entertaiment and what not, though lately I try to cling myself to these.

I was depressed before, but I got over it. I got over it by clinging to the world; by enjoying every sunrise and sunset, by dancing in the rain and marvelling at the snow, by beeing amazed and apreciating art and all the good things man has done, and so on. I ended up beeing sick of this world.

I know this might not make much sense,as it would take a novel to describe all the things I want to say, but I'm hoping you would get an ideea of what I'm talking about. I'll try to clear things up later. But please, don't forget the innitial thread and do give some sugestions. And i also apologise for the bad spelling.

Why don't you write a novel about it then?  If you think suicide is the answer then why not right a novel?  By the time you have finished with the novel maybe you will realize life.  Realize that maybe it is worth living.  Or Maybe when you have finished with your novel, and you still feel like dying; at least you can give out your opinion about why the world is so terrible.  Just write the novel, you will learn alot.

Frostwolf,

You lied. People who are dead serious about suicide don't talk about it, they have comitted it already.

Anybody who looks at reality with open eyes will have depression. But your thinking seems unfinished to me.

The world is the way it is because people do the things they do. Some people become concious enough to do things differently. They, each in their little way, by living life sustainably and generously, affect others, cumulatively causing the change for better. Go ahead, murder one of them. I don't see how that will be any better than what the people you despise do to the world.

Alternatively, you can help him make a difference. He won't solve the world's problems, but he can affect the way people in his life think. When peoples' thinking changes, their actions follow. And they affect people in their lives too.

Here's an opportunity to affect how a dozen people think. Submit your properly written view of the world to HC. I'd like to read it.

Perhaps I do it only worst, but some things I would like to say.

Quote:
It soon came to me that no matter how hard I would work perfection could not be achived in the study of history nor philosophy, for we are limited by our own minds.

Sad (honestly) to hear that you failed to ...

Quote:
... to always know more, keep an open mind, be able to have more than one view on a thing...

Breaking the spell that makes you believe of being “limited in your mind” (narrowminded?) would instantly give you a descent step towards your former goal. Being a professional neurochemist, I donno why do you think our mind is limited. You may be right, but I have not seen a valid proof for that.

Quote:
Plus, I am sick of seeing brilliant minds wasted away because the sistem, or the world, or whoever you want to blame doesn't give them a chance. So I gave up my quest for knowlege.

Yes, the Universe is wasting its resources as hell, but I see it as a part of natural selection. A brilliant is not considered worthy if it does not shine better than stones or if it breaks into dust even before the light is shed upon it. Looking at atom level, there are so damn many potential brilliants everywhere.

Quote:
People make me sick. I'm not talking about everybody, and I'm not refering to anybody here or any one I appreciate. About the masses of people without culture, people without dreams, people with narrow minds, people who's sole purpose reduces to that of perpetuating the human race.

Among people who I know, there are several who I classify as narrow-minded or without culture, but none of them has all of these bad side. You said: I'm talking about the majority of the world. I wonder do you know personally the majority? I believe the people are interesting, but the diversity of their minds, cultures, dreams etc will make the summary outcome truly lame (average/nothing special).

Quote:
And all the things that come with them; the lies, the evil, the lack of moral and ethics, the ignorance, the stupidity, the violence, the unjustified hatred, and how blind they all are. I hate that too.

I am sure that 99% of people agree with you that the things you listed are hateful (lets say it is justified hatred). However, not all share your opinion what is ethic and what is not. I personally would not blame them for that. If everybody would agree with everyone, the world will become something like Gavin Magnus wanted in a H4 campaign.

Quote:
But please, don't forget the innitial thread and do give some sugestions.

Some fast poisions like cyanide would be my choice, but you might not have access to such things. Hanging sucks – not comfortable for you neither for the one who has to take you down. For you, after reading your posts, I would recommend stop eating. If it helps take a week vacation, go to a cotton hut or somewhere out there, and just be in loneliness until the candle if blown out.
BTW. Your mail brought Second Sunrise by The Gathering to my mind. Ever listened to?

I totally understand what you mean Frostwolf. Well not totally but I understand the big picture. I won't begin about my own struggle I just wanted to say that there are more ways to deal with it. You could help other people. Try volunteering. You'll be amazed at how many people have felt the same as you and just want to be part of the "good" side of the world, whatever that may be in your mind. Also I suggest you try counselling. A stranger often can offer a fresh outlook.
A thing I often do is talk with people I meet when I'm walking my dog. The thing is you never know what's behind a face until you ask or just start a conversation.
There are plenty of good people but you seem to let the few rotten apples get to you and you're willing to cut the tree because of them.

Yeah i know I'm not very good with words. Just hope I was able to help, if only a little bit.

*hugs*
