Final Fantasy VII: I really liked main charters in this game. Cloud is my favorite game charters/heroe of all time. He gets little "confused" some times but that made him even more interesting to me. That leads us to the main villain Shepinroth! I haven't seen more sinister and cold charter than hi is. End of Disk one made me really hate te guy. And for the end when fighting againts the Shepinroth music One Winged Angel opera sounds in the background. Really powerfull! Materia and many other thinks where good also in the game! I give this game 5/5p

Final Fantasy VIII: There are many new things in this game! Junction system, draw, cards and many summons(GF). I enjoyed playing the game after FFVII cause it was so diffrent. Plot was good in the game and everything worked fine till the last disk. The villain Ultimecia was in my mind "just an another monster". Nothing spectacular weren't build to the end. I was disappointed at the end. It never anwered the question "What are we fighting for?" I can't really say the game being bad but it never get to my emotions. I give this game rating of 3/5p

Final Fantasy IX: This game has very good charters. Zidane aren't so great hero but he does good job as an ape can do. Steiner and "Master" Vivi are my favorite charters in this game. It was sad when "Pointyhat" finded out that hes really a puppet. I'm little shamed that i didn't kill that Ozma omega weapon. And i didn't found 2-3 tetramaster cards. Kuja was the main villain in this story followed by Queen Brahne. Nothing special but were getting something. Final boss was short and dull but the game was interesting. I give it 4/5p

Final Fantasy X: I didn't like main charter Tidus in this game. Voice actor made it even more little boy type. And in the end when he see his father he says to him "I hate you". That's very "uncool" cause Jecht wasen't really the "bad guy" in the game. Auron and Wakka in otherhand are great charters. World of Spira was beatiful and everything looked nice. Summons like Ifrit and Shiva looked fantastic. Sphere system was good. Are there another players that made charters stats to 255? Luck i didn't bother to take to the max but close enough. Other great think was that you could make your own "ultimate" weapons. Unfortunate the original weapons were most cases still better. (some hidden boosters in them). So game worked perfectly in the static side. Main Villain was Yevon but before that Sin was the real nemesis. Another bad idea imo. Well it might be just me but i consider the final boss to be some person and not some giant whale demon. I would liked if Seymor would been the "source of all evil". Anyway the game is good but there was many factors that i didn't liked so i prefer more ps1 ff games.  I give this game 3/5p

Final Fantasy X-2: It's the sphere hunters! Yay. This does not feel like RPG game anymore. Some stupid missions after another like in FPS games! I played the game to the last chapter and didn't notice any plot in this game! I stopped playing when i heard "bad news". Friend of mine tould me that i can't get some stuff cause aim so far in the game allready. And to get 100% completion is impossible at the first game time. I get so fustrated of this game that i shold it before i even finished it. Normally i play the game did i like it or not to the end. Somebody might like this but this game is sure not for me! I can't give this rating cause i didn't finished it..

Final Fantasy X2 is coming soon and i gotta try if it's any good!

So I agree with basically everything you said, especially the fact that Sephiroth is amazing and so is his theme , Tidus sucks, Final Fantasy VIII failed at giving a spectacular finish...etc.

And Final Fantasy X2 will be amazing.

If you're such a Final Fantasy VII fan then go play Dirge of Cerberus! It may not be RPG but if you are a strong hearted Vincent fan, then I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

hrm well there is FF12 and then Final Fantasy 10-2

10-2 being the sequel to 10 and I was one of the few that enjoyed that game, it was lighthearted and Rikku can be really funny at times.

12 takes place in the same world as FFTA

both could be called FFX2

Well, if it's 12, then it'd be FFXII.

Here is why I'm confused:
FFX-2 is already out, but people are refering to it in future tense, which makes me think that they're making another sequel to FFX, since X-2 was a dissapointment.

But on another note, I found something interesting.

Look at those stats!    Wouldn't you love to have this one in your FFT party?

not if he/she has to wear a "rubber suit"

hrm.. I doubt they are going to make another sequel to FFX, if they are then I for one am not playing it, I mean weve already seen the same world twice.
They might make a sequel to FF7 though.

The movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children is a sequel to the game. So will be Dirge of Cerberus (Shooter starring Vincent Valentine). There are also two prequels to VII, Before Crisis and Crisis Core.
As much fun as VII was and still is, I think it is time to lett it rest a bit again and continue with in a few years again.
Also if there is any Final Fantasy that in my opinion deserves a sequel, it would be IX. Like I said before it was the best one in my opion and I still play it every now and then (read: completely start over again). Even if it were half as good as the original IX, I would buy it and the console that it would apear on.

Final Fantasy XII comes out tomorow I believe, and it is a really good game, I've been playing the leaked copy for about a week now waiting for the release.

the gambit system took me a little while to get fine tuned, really easy to learn however, but some subtle things I didn't think of that caused some really quick button pressing.

set at least a few characters to use a pheonix down (tuff) on ally. this just saves you time and effort.

I'm hoping there are a few updates since the review copy, I noticed that the subtitles and the speach differ at some places and the main characters chest looks really off, nothing serious but not hard to change either. I'm at about 10 hours and have all the main characters (you actually get them very quick) and I have no idea how far into the game I am, but my beastiary is at about 10% so I must be about 10% I figure. level 15-16.

its much more difficult to keep your heroes at the same level, as I like to keep the main character on the battlefield at all times, as his gambits just work better, I don't like tinkering around just to keep my guys even level.

there is a quasi-sphere grid (seperated into 2 sections, skills and weapon/armor), but its much more caotic, you wont know what a sqare does unless you have learnt a square touching it (4 directions) so lets say you bought the spell revive, but don't have the skill yet, you basicaly guess on where it may be.. now its not that tough because all the class of skills are together, like white magic is bundled together and black/green are together. it gets trickier when trying to use weapons though, the bottom part of the lower section is all weapons, the top part is armor, but whats where is a crapshoot. on my game I just had each character shoot off into a different direction, I ended up with a bunch of useless crap i'll probably never use, but I learnt the board quickly.

the game is many times more beautiful then FF-X. and there is no more battle mode. all battles are fought in real-time, if your not careful on your planning you could get into trouble. I find it best to attack a ennemy then fall back and suck them into a trap, otherwise you may find 2 or 3 extra ennemies attacking you.

also the sphere grid (i'm calling it that cause most havent played.. but its really called liscence grid I think) runs on a licence point, much like in previous games you had job points, you can amass these points fairly quickly as even the easiest of monsters will still give as many points as a strong monster (cept bosses so far) so you could theoretically fight just outside the main castle and get all the liscence skills. You would have no way to use them though, as you need to buy all spells/skills at the store. and so even though you learnt Cura you wont be able to use it for several hours.

after my short time with the game (and the leaked copy has buggy cinematics) I would say the game is definately worth the price of admission (Canadians can get it at Futureshop for 49.99 with a free book until the 3rd I think) I read that in the US they have a similar deal somewhere, keep an eye out in the flyers.

I know FF-X could be beat in about 20 hrs by most people if you didnt do all the side-quests, I'm not sure how long this one is, but I think its many times longer.

This Final Fantasy VIII video is for Iris and Ruby, though I doubt they still come here and read these things. It is breathtaking none the less. Even if they might not ever see it, it is still worth your time for whomever decides to view it.

I've played all the pre-PS FFs. FFVII was my favorite too. When I see Cloud riding on the gold chocobo (I named him 'Merf'), I can just imagine him singing, "~I'm walkin' on water...~" (Wow I like using that smiley a lot)

Also though: an online game that's ALMOST as good as final fantasy:Mesiria RPG. You'll love it. If it was on GBA or DS I'd totally buy it. It doesn't get really storyline-y untill chapter two but...you'll see.

I like FFIII, FFVII, FFVIII, FFTA and FFCC. I havn't played any of the other ones, so I'm not sure if I like them or not.
I like FFCC a lot, it's not like the traditional  FF games. There's no turn based combat or going up levels(I love leveling up though). You basically travel the overworld map and enter certain locations like towns or dungeons. The odd thing is, you can't actually buy equipment, you have to buy a scroll, have the necessary materials, find someone to craft it for you and have enough money to pay for it.
Anyways, the FF series is awesome.

It's true.
They worked on the graphics more then the story in the game.
The summons took a yr each time you used one.

It's was a cool game but WAY on my bottom list compared to the other great FF games.

Final Fantasy 8 is diffrent than other games in the series. Junction system wasen't completely horrible alltough i prefer materia system from FF 7.

FF 8 had many good ideas but failed in story part miserably. There wasent any good build up and i would rather enjoy Seifer as the bad guy more than 'some bad wizard from the future!' FF 8 remainds me of Heroes 4 what had cool ideas and but failed in several parts. Works for some people but mostly considered as a 'failure'.
