That wasn't very nice. I bet he doesn't follow you around anymore. I've always wanted to play Yellow, just to see how different it is from Blue. I played the very beginning, and thought it was neat that the rival got an Eevee.

Changes in my lineup!

Replaced onix with magnemite (need some firepower against 8th gymleader and couldn't get hold of a decent ice poke) and kingler with suicune.

EDIT: magnemite just evolved to magneton

Update on my Fire Red lineup

Lst I left you I was trying to beat off Lance of the Elite Four with a stick basically.  I had a low leval team of pokemon consisting of my highest level pokemon Graveler (I call him Grounder though).  I had no Ice pokemon capable of taking out Lance and I knew Grounder wouldn't cut it level 60 or not.  I had to make a rash desicion.  I decided to fight him off with everything I had and lost with my dignity.  Taking that as a learning lesson I retreated back to Fuchia city and surfed over to the Seafoam Islands with only one thing in mind.  I needed a strong ice type pokemon fast and what better than the legendary Articuno...

Update Continued

So there I was face to face with Articuno after making my way through the Seafoam Islands.  I had already captured Zapdos before to deal with my Rivel's Blastoise.  I was origionally using my Electabuzz but a few headbutts took it out of commision.  Gloom wasn't nearly strong enough and I was too poor to aford protiens or irons.  So anyway I put Grounder (my Graveler) at the lead and had him use boulder smash.  A new move available to Fire Red and Leaf Green.  It has just enough attack power to drag Articuno into the red zone before he tries anything funny.  Next I switched out to Gloom who has a hell of alot of speed to make up foe his lower attack and defence.  She used sleep powder which delt with any attacks Artiucuno wouldv'e delt out.  Now come the Ultra Balls.  They say that out of the three legendary birds, Zapdos is the easiest to capture and Articuno is the hardest.  I beg to differ.  I had 25 Ultra balls with me and I only had to chuck out seven.  Zapdos was a fricken pain in the @ss.  I had three out of 20 ultra balls left when I finally captured him.  Luckily his speed and special was worth it.
With Articuno in tow I headed to Victory Road where I began to train my weaklings into somthing tougher.  I was thinking of evolving gloom into vileplume but decided against it.  I wanted her to learn Solarbeam.  I finally brought my pokemon up to decent levels and headed back to Pokemon League for payback.  First I schooled Loreli with Zapdos and Charizard.  Next I sicked Grounder on Bruno.  Earthquake is fun!  Next came Agatha.  Grrrrr.  She used to be easy before they added those special moves onto pokemon.  Before I could have just earthquaked all their poisoness @sses but now that all her ghosts have levitate I had to re-work my strategy.  I decided to just use some all out offensive attacks starting with Charizard and endeing with drill pecks from Zapdos.  That was fun.  Now for Lance.  Heh heh heh!  Zapdos had fun with Gyardos.  Now for the rest.  Each and every one was delt an ice beam and each and every one fell with splender.  Finally came my rival.  Now I knew that his first pokemon would be Pidgeot so I placed Zapdos at the front and took care of that.  Next he pulled out Rhydon which an ice beam took care of.  I knew he used earthquake so I didn't want to chance loosing Grounder to him since I needed him for what was next.  Arcanine.  I started off with an earthquake which left him standing so I secided to finish him with a rollout.  I should have known my rival would use a full restore.  Thank goodness Roll out gets stronger with every hit.  Three hits finished him.  Next came Alakazam.  I had a special treat for him by the name of Golbat.  With a mix of leach life and bite we had no problem.  Getting worried I guess, he pulled out Blastoise.  Zapdos...sick em.  Zapdos did just enough damage for my rival to heal him twice.  This time I used Thunderwave and paralized the stupid freak.  It worked.  I thundered him twice and bye bye Blastoise.  My Rival ended with Exeggutor which I pulled out Charizard for.  Hey I figured it would work.  Well it did...for about ten seconds.  A couple of Egg Bombs and he was out.  I was out of healing items.  So out came Articuno.  I taught him fly before-hand so I figured I would use and ice beam than fly down on him.  With a pure stroke of luck the ice beam froze him and the fly finished him off.  I won.  I WON!
My winning team cosisted of:
Zapdos Lv. 58
Charizard Lv. 55
Graveler/Grounder Lv. 63
Articuno Lv. 53
Gloom/Oddy Lv. 54
Golbat Lv. 55

I don't use Golbat too often so his place is often replaced with Seadra or Primape.
There ya have it.
Afterwards I completed a couple of quests which I won't mention so suprizes arn't ruined and made it possible to trade with my Ruby version.  I evolved Graveler into Gollum and used a sun stone on Gloom to evolve her into Belossem.  Charizard learned a new kickass move called Blast Burn which is twice the power of fire blast and has 100 accurcy.  I caught Mewtwo with my master ball and that's about it.  I havn't really done much else.  I guess I could try to "catch em' all" but that will have to be for another day.

BTW, Blast Burn has only 90% accuracy. Did your Gloom learn Solarbeam? I thought only Bellossom could. Gloom can get it from a TM, though.

I like Pokemon too!  I have Red, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, and Fire Red.  I almost (so close!) completed my pokedexes on Ruby and Red.  I can't even count the number of times I reset Red to play it over again.  I even accumulated 240 HOURS (yes thats right, hours!) on Ruby!

I wish they hadn't brutally mass-marketed the series with all that TCG and whatnot.  That kinda ruins the game for me.

My Fire Red status:

lvl. 49 Charizard
  Blast Burn
  Flamethrower
  Aerial Ace
  Strength

lvl. 48 Vaporeon
  Surf
  Auora Beam
  Bite
  Acid Armor

lvl. 48. Farfetch'd
  Fly
  Peck
  False Swipe
  Slash

lvl. 48 Raichu
  Thunderbolt
  Quick Attack

More later...

It ain't that easy round here, esp. since the pokemon boom was over around three or four years ago

Yeah, Gloom can learn Solarbeam but I evolved her into bellosim so she could learn petaldance.  Plus she'll learn solarbeam eariler than gloom will.
I want to evolve my Seadra into Kingdra but I don't remember which item I have to trade it with.  I think the king stone but it could be the dragon scale.

Okay, so I finally got my hands on FireRed and have been playing it for a few days now.
Just got to Celadon city and my team consists of
Charmander - lv 31
Pidgey - lv 28
Mankey - lv 28
Pikachu - lv 27
Drowzee - lv 27
Oddish - lv 28

I also have a lv 24 Diglett that I used to beat the Electric  gym, and a lv - 23 Beedrill.
I own 34 kinds of pokemon because I haven't evolved the ones I've got so far.
Last pokemon caught = Growlithe.

I need a water type, an ice type, maybe a dragon if I can get one, and a DARK type (my favorite type!!)

Congrats with the Fire Red.  Kick Erica's behind.  Just take note, she's slightly herder than I last remembered so I had to evolve my charmander before I took her on.  Believe it or not her lacies actually gave me trouble.

On another note I've picked up my Ruby version to finish where I left off, catching legendary pokemon.  Also because I kinda suck at that (hey, I have Regirock and Groudon at least) I decided to enter some contests and have so far got masters in cool, cute, and tough.

I have all the legendaries in that bar Deoxys, which you can only get from Nintendo apparently.
I'd say the hardest to catch was Regi-steel (46 ultra balls). The other 2 weren't that bad.
It only took me 6 balls to get Kyogre and I traded for Groudon.
I used the master ball on Rayquaza, easy as pie.
And I got Jirachi from buying Pokemon Channel for the GameCube. I just gave the game to my little sis after I downloaded the pokemon (He's psychic/steel. Not strong, but some cool moves)
