The best games
The gaming industry is several decades old by now, and in its many years has produced a lot of great games. We can argue that one is better than the other, but at the end its just our personal tastes.
So without making to much fuss about it, and trying to awoid unececery fights, tell us which are the games yo like the most.

Real Time strategy: WarcraftIII and its latest expansion
Turn Based strategy: Heroes III Shadow of Death
FP shooter: Alien vs. Predator
Player vs Player Fighting simulation: Street Fighter II and any proceeding sequel
Sport: Madden football
Third person shooter/action: Diablo I & II(and all expansions)
Adventure: Final Fantasy IV
RPG/FRP: Baldur's Gate I & II(and all expansions)
Simulator: Any Starwars modern flying simulator
First Person puzzle/riddle: Zork Nemesis
Best game of all time: Final Fantasy IV

Turn Based strategy: Homm2,3
FP shooter: Halo
Fighting/beat them up game: Soul Calibur2, King of Fighters series
Sport: FIFA!
Third person shooter/action: Max Payne
RPG/FRP: Diablo 2, NWN, FF
THE BEST GAME of all the time: Take your pick between Soul Calibur 2 and King of Fighters

Real Time strategy: Red Alert, the Aftermath add-on.
Turn Based strategy: Since this is my favorite genre, I have trouble picking my all-time fav. But it'll either be Civ2, Alpha Centauri or one of the Heroes games...
FP shooter: Don't really play this kind much, but I remember an old game, Rise of the Triad, that I used to play on my first computer. An awesome arsenal.
Fighting/beat them up game: Haven't played any on pc, but I always liked Street Fighter II when I was younger.
Sport: One of the Championchip Manager games, probably 97-98
Third person shooter/action: Delta Force Land Warrior
Adventure: Bud Tucker in Double Trouble, or Monkey Island 3.
RPG/FRP: Diablo II
Simulator: The Sims.
THE BEST GAME of all the time: Sid Meier's Civilization, or Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (it's really a Brian Reynolds game, but who cares... Except Reynolds, ofc..)

Real Time strategy: War of the Ring?
Turn Based strategy: Civ3
FP shooter: Halo
Fighting/beat them up game: Dynasty Warriors 4
Sport: Unreal Tournament (i just think of it as sport, ok?)
Third person shooter/action: um... im gonna go with GTA VC
Adventure: Fable
RPG/FRP: Baldurs Gate 2
Simulator: I would consider Burnout 3 a simulator as it simulates smashing the crap out of other cars for fun 
THE BEST GAME of all the time: MIGHT AND MAGIC 8

Turn Based strategy: Homm2,3, Worms World Party
FP shooter: Halo
Fighting/beat them up game: Mortal Combat
Sport: Need for Speed series (all 7)
Third person shooter/action: GTA
Adventure: Escape from Monkey Island, Bugs Bunny lost in time
RPG/FRP: dunno
Simulator: F-22 Raptor, Comanche series
THE BEST GAME of all the time: Star Wars Battlefront

Turn Based strategy: Civ3
FP shooter: Does System Shock II count? I'll put that here to not use up my RPG slot.
Fighting/beat them up game: ?
Sport: Sports are for the field, not for the console.
Third person shooter/action: Crusader: No Remorse
Adventure: Legend of Kyrandia III
RPG/FRP: So many to choose from... I'll go Ultima V by a hair over M&M III
Simulator: Wing Commander 2
THE BEST GAME of all the time: System Shock II by virtue of the fact that the morning after I bought it I was late for work because I didn't even realize that I had been playing for more than 12 hours solid. That is the sign of a good game. Civ2 by the overall number of hours I spent playing it.

Ilike the tomb rader games
silent hil 1 to 4 are a must
resident evil is grate
final fantacy games take you to other world
track and feild is fun
burnout 1,2&3 are grate fun
I can't remember how to spell the other games that i play. but I own a xbox, playstasion 1&2, game cube, N64,Dreamcast and others. I just love games

Sport: france 98 (it had some weird charm)

Real Time strategy: Warhammer 40k. Until now, it was starcraft, but Warhammer is just so inovative in RTS, that ownz them all.
Turn Based strategy: Heroes III/Disciples2/Massive Assault... etc... well... it's my favourite gendre, so i guess all of them
FP shooter: Duke Nukem 3D, Quake 1
Fighting/beat them up game: Mortal Kombat series
Sport: I hate sports.
Third person shooter/action: Freedom Fighters (russians taking over USA, yay)
Adventure: Monkey Island series
RPG/FRP: Planescape Torment
Simulator: Chessmaster X

Difficult choice...
This thread is interesting but also difficult to answer, this is due to the fact that the gaming industry has graced us with so many games. But if it was any the following would be my favourite games:
Real Time Stragety: Command and Conquer series
Turn Based Stragety: Shogun Total War
FP Shooter: The Quake series
Beat em up: The Marvel vs Capcom series
Sport: Pro evo 3
TP Shooter/Action: Duke Nukem?
Adventure: Jade Coccoon
RPG: Final Fabtasy series
Simulator: Dungeon keeper
I hope some people would agree lol
