Poll Question:
The 2004 Australian Federal Election

It's a two man race, so who will it be?

Me, I am not old enough to vote, but I reckon Latham (Labor) is the next Prime Minister. I wouldn't want Howard reelected, or Costello taking over (those damn rodents). DOWN WITH LIBERALS!!!!

I´m not an Australian, but I prefer Labour, because the actual PM is Bush´s puppy and the Labour Candidate is against Bush^^

Yes, just to make this clear for Americans who may not understand, the Austrailian "Liberal" party is the more conservative one.  "Labour" is, the more liberal one, and if the Labour candidate is elected, the U.S. is likely to lose yet another ally in the Iraq war.

It's an international outrage. Sure, we all know that the lying rodent thing is absolutely correct, but this has only furthened the gap betweens trust and idiocy.

People, when you go to booths this weekend, DO NOT VOTE LIBERAL!!

Oh, and do not Greens either. Bob Brown is a crazy man.

Ah, the election. I hope Latham wins, because I just can't stand another term with John Howard as Prime Minister, or even worse, Peter Costello.

Go the ALP! (and if I do not vote ALP, then it is almost surely an independent).

I will be voting for the ALP (even though I have no idea who the local ALP candidate is and Liberal always wins). I am sick of Howard and Costello and we need change. Latham isn't going to increase Uni fees like Howard is going to, thats the main reason I will vote for the ALP.

It was a honest mistake. Can't stand Howard, Costello and Downer, and I can't stand Bob Brown and his fellow druggies.

Sorry guys but as much as i hate howard too, it looks like hes gonna win.

It is mainly because they have built a good economy and also because they have spent money right and stuff, and have been a stable government; although a bit contreversial. Also how about those ads that laugh at Latham and call him a learner? Thats funny and its true. Last time labor were in control they lost a lot of money and left the government in a financial mess. Most of Australia still remembers that and holds it against them.

Thats why today it wont surprise me to hear Howard win again, and Latham lose, although id rather ALP win personally.. cant stand john howard..

I had a feeling that would be true, DarkTitan. I have just come back from the polls voting for the ALP but I can't see them winning this election - the economic praise for Howard will be too strong here.

I hope the Senate will not be ruled by a Coalition majority - at least a minor party or several independents hold the balance of power (although Harradine will leave).

I knew it, people just dont like Learners

Nah, but i do reckon it came down to lack of experience; nobody could trust labor, where as Liberal had proven themselves for the last few years.

But i believe labor lost it for themselves in the campaign, they were throwing money at everything, much more than Liberal, and then they decided to take money away from elite private schools! I dont go to those schools, but you can imagine what some people would have thought that were connected with the schools, and they have a lot of students. In my opinion labor dug their own grave.

Erm, I see. It is gonna get much worse when I get to Uni (in 2006).

Now that old midget has been reelected, this could mean more support for Bush to be reelected, which I absolutely cannot stand.

Yes, spin in the US says that a win for Howard is a win for Bush and a predictor of the US election.  Tragic.

I saw on the news that bush had a hunch back in one of his talks with the press. It is thought that he had some sort of reciever there helping him in the discussion.
