The Next Best Thing. Struggle Against Boredom, the final Blow!

We've got almost everything in HC. Great Threads, Genious posters(not all.. but.. We've got em ) We've got poetry, laughter, debates, things that take our spare time when we are bored, Basicly, we've got it all. Boredom is left defenceless Against us.

But .. there is just one thing, i need of HC, for HC to become the greatest None-Irl place. I need a thread, where i smile every time i see it. Not out of laughter, but out of simple joy. I've been here for a while, and i still don't know my about you. Your greatest experiences in this life, your true emotions. To quote (and tranlate) the Danish popsinger; Johnny Deluxe "We Want More". I wan't to hear what you have to say.

Another But, i want to listen to your lifes joys, and by that i'm NOT talking about ALL your life experiences, just a few. The few that really made you happy, the memories that you'll tell your grandchildren, the memories that'll always make you feel rich, no matter what. You don't have to write 50 lines of pure poetry, but please tell us some details.

EVERYONE gets to tell their greatest joys, no matter who you are you diserve to share what has made you the man/woman you are, no holding back. Let me give you an example..

The Ultimate Joy

I've had several great joys in my life, but one thing really stands out.. I've ytold you about my "greatest joys" But as you get older, you start to notice other things. As a boy you start out with the lust for being strong and cool, then you get a lust for girls, which will always be in you(no offence to homosexual people) And later on you also see the joy in greater things, for my this is my 3,5 year old Cousin; Uffe. Greatest kid alive. He always enters a room smiling and laughing, just happy to see us. No matter what happens he just keeps on smiling, he really spreads joy, at noone expence. When you see the little critter enter a room, you just start smiling. Few people give you this effect. The greatest thing with these kids are, if they wan't something and don't get it, 10 mins later they have another thing in their mind, and it even might just be a trip to a sandbox, the swingset, maybe a relative. Seeing him makes me look forwards to having a little kid of my own. I think kids like him, is what makes people want to have kids. And it's just not him, there is a light in almost all kids. I love this kid.

To all you negative people out there, start noticing things. Life doesn't sux, life is good. You just have to find it.. Open your eyes and let the good times come.

this is a nice thread!

Well, if I should tell you about thing that make me happy or forget my anger 'bout sth... it will be music.
Yeah, music is da thing - I do everything with music (if possible). I cant really imagine a life w/out music anymore... When I had a hard day and come home and I am just ready with all, I turn on my Greensleeves and sonn I will be happy again Music really helps me in certain moments!

Oh, and speaking of little kids: I know what you mean - I have a little brother and when he was that age and younger I just was happy every moment I could see the little guy
well, I am still happy when seeing him now, not that u misunderstand me

edit: well, and if we are at this topic allready - my family is allways a thing to lighten up my day. having a big family around you is a great thing!

Real Deal... What you speak of does not exist in any internet world. Not in HC, not any website. It exists in RL. There is nothing more timeless than RL. You simply cannot put something that incredible and timeless into a thread. It can be described, depicted giving a decent idea of that feeling, that aura, but that sort of thing is an experience. And that my friend will only exist in RL. You won't be able to look at your little cousin they way you do at a website, at a thread. It simply will not happen. Sure this place can be inspiring, it can be everything you want it to be except for that one thing, the experience.

For that you must leave the computer, for that you will truly enjoy life. These things called experiences are taken for granted far too often.

RSF, the man who went from HC to RL, then came back to HC again. And made us write all those sobby posts for no reason.
he, he! Always welcome! It takes a cataclysm to make us people show everyone how we feel for each other.

I think this is a great thread

I think that life's little joys can be found anywhere and everywhere, you only need to keep your eyes open to see them. I think too, that for sure you can find joy online, there is a joy that comes from friendships that can't be replaced. I have many friends online that I've known now for years, and they are every bit as important to me as the ones I can see and hear.

Coming online and seeing Minks always cheers me up too

For me, the best joys always come from my children though -- but I think any and every parent would agree with that!

Hmm, another little joy for me is my bookstore! It's maybe the greatest place in Winnipeg Its a small trade-in comic/bookstore, and the girl that works there has come to know me very well and she always holds books for me that she thinks I will like So to me it's like Christmas everytime I walk in there! Of course I now have a pile of 27 new Forgotten Realms books to read and no clue when I'll find the time to read them

Lets see.. here's another I was just telling Daddy about. Behind my house there are two small lakes, and literraly thousands of geese come there every year to fatten up before they migrate south. Its just an awe inspiring sight to see them all out there! It seems every year more come, and with them we now have many tourists coming to see and feed them too!

I love going down there in the fall when all the leaves have turned colours. I take the kids and a bag of bread crumbs and we watch them for hours, the kids love it and I do too
