The best way (imo) to use the Sakkra is, as I said, just overpopluate the enemy.  Be as diplomatic as possible, but breed like rabbits and expand..soon the other races have a very hard time keeping up with you.  I wouldn't wait TOO long against the Psilons or Cybernetic guys tho.  Sakkra is a powerful starting to late mid game species.  Late game they start falling behind I find.

Now Silicoids are a different story.  Popluate every world that you can..especially ones the other species can't at first.

Edit : With the Silicoids I think I use them wrong (though I usually win).  I put them all the 'free' ones doing one thing.  Either Research or Building.  On the planets that are caught up with buildings I do research then build, research then build.  On new planets all of them are building until they are caught up then its all research then all build.

In case of Sillicoids, I would say Research + Expansion, supported with Espionage.

A tip if you see that an computer player has sent some spys against you so insted of diplomatic request, just send a few spy against him, and in the next turn all of the enemy spy will withdraw automaticaly

It is better then just every time demand stop spying, and it is only way for Repulsive Races

Depended on my mood, how many ships there were, and who I was up against.  Most of the time I handled it, but if there were a LOT of ships I did auto till things got whitled a bit.

Early - mid game I'd worry about the Sakkra more.  Late game the Meklars, Silicoids, and Psilons are messy.  Really late game the Psilons are NASTY.

Misty: Agreed.

but the real runaway AIs are definately Sillicoids, Trilarians and Sakkra. I've seen all three of them outnumber all other races by 2:1 on several occasions (and I mean LATE game). By that time the Erractic Meklars or Frail Psilons will usually by eliminated by the other AIs.

Mytical i use special tool Thistool It is savegame editor but i usualy use it reconfigure star map and add change some planets (no more Tiny ones and less toxic, no more empty star systems and systems which you can not colonise) One downside the language is German but i it easy to understan what i what with timeI can help

Oh i forgot a tip about research managment the game has its ways to calculate the breakthrough point in researches so it is recomended to autosave or manualy save the turn when you suspect that there will be an breakthrough because the all not really needed research points are lost. So why waist them when you can put your workers into different tasks.

The tip is that when you see that there is the breakthrought reload and try to decrease number of scientis to the minimum point where there will be breakthrough. So you can max your efficency or the other way around sometimes it is better to put more workers into science so you could earn new tech one turn early

So research points don't stack or go to the next research.

The production points DO stack so sometimes you can see that the some projects will be finished no matter how many or fwe workers you have there

And here it is An Exel File which I use to reconfigure and see how the Galaxy Map truley looks like ( The coordinates i get from that Tool above, and it is important that X cordinates are "+" and Y coordinates are  "-". I don't know why aren't they all +

But isn't there a option in the game itself that you can do basic guidence of what the universe looks like?  Something about how old the universe is maybe?

but I always wanted shape it they way i see it More Green and Blue Stars and visual pattern of the Star placement, more Round or Eliptical, Less Red Stars, no more Tiny or Small planets... etc. (it is good to be an GOD)
