If I understood bak correctly, that is not what he has a problem with.

Rather that the following scenario (please correct me if I misunderstood):

A makes a postulate.
B questions postulate.
A ignores question.

Some time later.

A repeats postulate, still ignoring previous question.

Edit:
So I think the point is not the first part where A ignores the question, we are all allowed to not participate in things we don't want to, hopefully.
Rather, it's when person A then goes out and repeat the earlier postulate, that the problem arises. What are other posters supposed to do? Continue questioning ad infinite, knowing the chance of a satisfying answer and a satisfying discussion is very low? Ignore the posts completely, despite it's bordering provocations and spam?

((I don't know if this actually applies to elodin, in this case.))

Well Bak Elodin isn't the only one who does it. Admittingly he's the capital offender in this case and enforcing your idea would certainly make for better discussion but angelito would never get away with enforcing it only for Elodin.

If it however reaches the extend you describe I think it'd warrant angelito making him give an answer. But that'd be up to his judgement and be a relatively messy affair if you ask me.

completely ignoring counter-arguments and repeating one's initial argument over and over IS trolling.

It's nothing new Elodin only answers arguments he has an answer for.

I have an answer for everything. I also answer pretty much every question. I may not go through line by line and type a comment for every single comment of a poster.

I also get far more posts addressed to me than anyone else. I can't spend hours and hours every day answering silly stuff that is not even serious.

Also, if someone posts a link to something they can't even explain in their own words I'm not doing to go though the 15 pages of the link and make a comment on every line in the pages linked to.

I ask plenty of questions and make plenty of comments that are never addressed.

When I sign on I address everything I have time to address starting with what **I want to address** because ***I*** think it is important to be commented on.

You say you don't have enough time to go to specific links and address all them and all but you certainly have more than enough time to endlessly quote the bible. Just admit that you are wrong and you do not have an answer for everything because you don't and that's why you ignore a lot of things. You can't blame others for being wrong if you yourself don't have anything to back up why they are. You just ignore them and that's why people think you're merely trolling. And rightfully so may I add.

But unless your specific, unanswered, comment was directed to a specific user posting a specific postulate, which said user repeated later on, then I don't understand how it defines the specific user as a troll.

As an example. I asked you some stuff in the "ask Elodin" thread.
((Now I have likely misunderstood some parts of your answer, but since, as far as I understood, you wanted such question of OSM threads, I did not ask for further details in the "ask Elodin" thread.))
As I understodd your answer, you only answered the first question. ((What defines a true christian)). Should your reply actually contain the answer for some (to all) of the other questions I asked you, I'd be oblivious to that fact. As of such, I'd not consider myself trolling, should I repeat those questions at a later time.

Had you, as an example, quoted the questions line for line and answering each of them below, I'd at the very least know you'd answered it all.
That's the way, I believe, most of us usually would reply to any given statement. It's of course your choice how you reply.

The difference being that should the topic come up in OSM and should I ask you, as it is now, I'll repeat the questions and ask for further details, but had I understood you actually had answered these questions, I'd rather ask into your answers, should I find it interesting doing so.

Oh, I often ask people to back up some argument of theirs and they never do. Here is a claim Bak made about me having a "huge portion of your beliefs are in pretty direct contrast with what Jesus is preaching" yet when asked to back up the claim he could not produce a huge list of things I believe that contradict the teachings of Christ along with the requested proof that my beliefs are in contradiction to Christs teachings.

I find Bak's attempt to get me penalized for not making a detailed comment on a link he posted that he can't even explain in his own words hypocritical. And actually, I have in fact commented on pretty much all the important content of link in my my various posts in the thread

Elodin, a huge portion of your beliefs are in pretty direct contrast with what Jesus is preaching, in fact a lot of non-believers hold far more Christian views than you do. Taking a few metaphorical "swords" out of context and quoting them as justification for your jingoistic attitude is insulting to any sane poster's intelligence.

You are heavy on allegation and light on proof. What is the "huge portion" that I believe that is in direct contrast with what Jesus said? Provide Bible quotes (chapter and verses and in context) please, to prove my beliefs are wrong.

Where did you get the idea that I couldn't explain it in my own words? In your words, wah wah wah stop lying about me wah wah wah.

But why would I lose time on rephrasing something that's already well written? Is there a difference? Would that make it worthy of your divine attention? You'd just ignore that as well, and repeat the same crap over and over again.

I quoted the Bible and posted a relevant study to show you where you are wrong. You refused to read what I have posted. And you then arrogantly re-used that argument. I don't really care if you get penalized or not. All I'm saying is that, if I was a mod, I'd penalize you every time you do that, until you learn some manners.

I have written a response to the article you linked to. The author of the article was clueless by the way. Now I ask you to produce a huge list of things that I believe that contradict the teachings of Christ and proof that such beliefs do in fact contradict the teachings of Christ (since you claimed there were a huge portion of my beliefs that contradict the teachings of Jesus.)

I answered all your questions now answer all of mine.
