Corr, just for the record - the personal allack thing is certainly stretching things a bit.
Seraphim said, philosophy isn't based on logic, because theories start with a priori assumptions and were not empirical or something like that (ignoring that this is true for math as well and all other sciences work with these assumptions, too).
That shows, he has not a clue about things - and there is really no other way to phrase this: he is completely clueless. Either that or he has no idea what "logic" is. So since Seraphim managed to dismiss the whole body of philosophy as illogical crap by quoting something of wiki he obviously doesn't understand, I tried to make him a bit more attentive, showing him the inner logic of things by involving himself in the proceedings, thinking he'd appreciate the relevance of a hypothetic example when he was involved in it.
Just a little philosophical speculation and, rather funny, without any logic or empirical support, as far as Seraphim is concerned.
If you ask me, considering the amount of contempt he managed to heap up with his posts in this thread alone, be it against idealists specifically and philosophy in general, everyone was fairly considerate here - but of course no one asks me.

I don't now if this is the place to ask about this but under Firefox I cant read personal messages of HC. Google Chrome and iPad Safari, all is normal. Anyone else having this problem or any idea why can it be? Since FF is my regular browser, it's annoying.

If when you return you still feel like being a member of this community, you need to learn that while you may express any opinion you wish, deliberately insulting other posters - either singly or as a group - is strictly against the code of conduct. If you feel other posters are violating these rules, you are free to send me an HCM and I will take your feelings under considerations. That said, just because someone else allegedly breaks the rules does not entitle you to do so as well.
Next time, the cooling-off period will be longer.

Something wrong with idealism or materialism thread. On page 9 there is a comment about Karl Popper I didnt write but it displays like I did, the quoted part is mine, not the objection, how can that be?
I Quote Reply to Seraphim's "So is idealism" with "They are both very much alive..." and someone else responds with Popper but it displays like the screenshot above.

And do I need to say this again? Other threads aren't the place to justify your poor behavior by trying to make examples of allegedly poor behavior of others. Actually I described ideas.
Are the ideas of atheists and the left now completely shielded from critique? Or is it that only they are allowed to use negative phraseology when attacking the ideas of others?

I am constantly directly insulted and my ideas are constantly described in a negative fashion.
My only request is if I am not allowed to describe the ideas of others negatively that they should not be allowed to use negative descriptions of my own. And they should not be allowed to negatively attack my person. Fair is fair.

I am so sick of people whining about the injustice of being singled out for breaking the rules under the (false) argument that everyone ELSE gets away with murder. Behave and stop using other peoples' behavior as a shield. I don't care whether you think you are the victim of injustice.
