Really, OFFS, what's the point? HC is becoming overrun by trolls and morons. There is nary a moderator to be found. Seriously, we get a guy coming in here and acting like a complete ass, dropping the f-bomb in the process, and there's not even a warning. Even the good community members don't seem to care that HC's integrity has been flushed down the toilet.
Seriously, I'd sooner take a job beta testing anal thermometers than try to sustain an intelligent conversation in the OSM these days. At least I'd be getting paid for my misery.

Well, to be honest, I was kinda hesitant at first, but seeing as Elodin doesn't seem to post online (at least he never replied to the HCM's I send him and I haven't seen him with the green dot) I don't think he reads his HCM.
I would also like to avoid pushing gnomes thread in such an unfortunate direction.
I decided this was probably the best place to post it, hoping Elodin will read it, and maybe consider that he could choose his words a bit better.
After all, if it should get out of control, we know this is a thread that does regularly get cleaned.
Edit:
I like the anal thermometer analogy it reminds me when I was a couple of years younger, the hospital insisted on thermometers should be used anally for optimal measurements. I was freaked out by the idea, but it actually didn't hurt at all

I'd appreciate it, Elodin, if you could keep your discriminations for yourself, because you're discriminating. A lot. Towards people of different political view than yours. Towards people of different belief than yours.
Edit: To be clear. What I'm against, is that the statement linked basicly claims all atheists, agnostics, etc. to be unintelligent, at least as how I read it.
It is interesting that you condemn me for saying theists are intelligent when you bash theists everytime religion is discussed in the threads. In that very thread you said religious people are brainwashed, for example, and the thread has many insults towards religious people.

I have nothing from you in my inbox and can't remember the last time you may have sent anything to me. I do not debate in HCMs though. I debate openly in the forums where everyone can see exactly what I and the other person said.
Sometimes I log in to post and sometimes not. I don't log in from my business locations. If you send me something I may not visit the site for a few days. Sometimes as a small business owner and family man I am quite busy.

I am pretty tired of your "atheist witch hunt" in nearly every thread. If you do not stop that, I will silence you for 1 week at least.
Talk about your THEISM if you like (in threads where this is part of the topic!), but keep out anything which has to do with those who do NOT believe what you do (you call ALL those people atheists).
No need to answer this post, I won't discuss this point any longer. We did that for months/years now. I don't care if you think this is unfair or biased or whatever.
Stop it...or I will stop it!

There is no atheist witch hunt and it is false to say I talk about atheism in every thread. I talk of religious things in religious topics. And several atheists lie about and slander other religions in religious and non-religious topics.
However, you seem to be quite fine with Christianity being slammed in every topic and in fact you have made very many anti-theist comments yourself.
Moderation on these boards has never been fair because it seems the moderators have no interest in being fair and instead want to support their positions with the moderator's gavel because they can't defend them with rational points.
Oh, I do not call all non-Christians atheists. If you claim I do produce the posts that show that.
It is sad that you have decided to defend atheism by abusing your power as a moderator rather than with rational arguments.

I've been thinking about creating a thread in the OSM meant for any non-topic discussion.
The basic idea is, let's say Ad says he doesn't believe in absolute truth (from which his opinion is derived), then Mvass really wants to discuss this, but this axiom(?) alone is non-topic discussion.
So in stead, the post is quoted in the non-topic thread and then they can discuss there, without clouding the thread, and it can still be public, which I think some posters wants, since they prefer not to use HCM for discussion.
I'm not too certain if the community want such a thread though, so this is me trying to get some feedback on the idea if such a topic should be in the OSM. It's called a feeler?

Any idea, however good or bad, is, at the end of the day, an idea. Actually making it happen and making it work well on this forum is pretty much as far from realistic as is even possible. There are just certain users here that manage to make a thread off topic every single time they post in it and it quickly escalates out of control. Plus, add to that that we really don't have enough moderator action on this forum to make ANY idea feasible. I mean, I'm all for trying to make this certain forum better but it's pretty much useless now because of certain posters, unfortunately. I'll do my best to make the forum better but there are just too many people in this place that do drag it down. Perhaps not meaning to but they do it.
For the record, I like your idea, but for HC? It just won't work because of reasons mentioned above, unfortunately.

Beware - positive post ahead.
I know Angelito has already said he will be doing so, but I would like to officially suggest that some red shinies be handed out in Smithey's thought-provoking and so-far-pretty-damn-civil genetic engineering thread. I'll leave the decision of which posts to award up to the moderators, but I can easily find a dozen or so worthy posts in there.
Doomforge, Smithey, Azagal, JJ and some others have all made some nice contributions. Also nice to see some new faces to the OSM posting in there.
This is what the OSM should really be about.

Do you really think, especially after everyone was in a pretty good mood after the last rather fruitful discussions and angelito's QP-handing spree, that the OSM needs a MODERATOR of all things, that hasn't got anything better to do than spamming a thread with defeatist sarcasm?
