Lords Of Tanaran OoC

Ok i have tried to make things a bit clearer than in the old thread. I have balanced some of the skills and changed some of the abilities. I highly recommend new players to read the OoC throroughly so you know the ins and outs of the game.

The game works like this. Players will choose a predefined race, and a predefined class. All racial and class stats and abilities will be predefined. This is to streamline things, make it fair for everyone, and give everyone a quick reference so things do not slow down. Once you have chosen these, you will go forth in a new world called Tanaran and carve your own legacy.

*HOW DO YOU MAKE A CHARACTER*
First, you choose a race, then a class. All races will have one ability. All classes will have eight stats: strength, dexterity, endurance, agility, willpower, charisma, intelligence, and wisdom. These will be rated on a scale of 1-10. Each stat value will be used to determine outcomes for certain events. Therefore, if your warrior has a strength value of eight and he wants to attack or lift something, he will be more successful. A high value is almost guaranteed success whereas a low value probably will not make it. Median values are iffy and will depend on the situation. Your stats can be increased by doing certain tasks.

*BUILDING CITIES*
In this game players will be able to create their own kingdom if they have the luck and the skill. All the lands in Tanaran will be divided into regions. Each region will have artifacts called crowns. Possessing these crowns allows players to build their kingdom. They will of course be hidden and guarded. There will be six levels of crowns. Each allows a player to control a greater township and more followers. Players can use these followers to wage war if they wish.

*RULES*
1. I am the game master. I will determine all success, and will provide a basic story. The players react as they wish. You will pretty much choose your own path and your own story. I will just provide some guidance and stuff to do along the way. You can be as active or as inactive as you want. I determine the success of most activities. I will be fair and unbiased. The game will be open and will not depend on a player in order to progress, which is why i would prefer if you kept a party of people to a minimum number. You may create as many NPC's as you want but you manage them. Anyone can jump in or out.

2. You can make up your own weapons, equipment and abilities as you like. If some things seems too powerful or unfair, I will let you know. Make sure you post them here first.


*STATS*
1. Strength- hitting damage and lifting
2. Dexterity- aim and quickness with hands
3. Endurance- hit points and resistance
4. Agility- running, dodging, acrobatic feats
5. Charisma- influence on others
6. Intelligence- how smart you are, spell success
7. Wisdom- increases success in quests, spell success, luck
8. Willpower- damage and duration of spells


*RACES AND RACIAL ABILITIES*
1. Human- Versatility: they always have better chance of success.
2. Gnome- Intelligence: add +1 to their Intelligence
3. Halfling- Swift: add +1 to their Dexterity.
4. Dwarf- Burly: +1 to their Endurance
5. Dark Elf- Hide: they can hide as long as they do not move
6. High Elf- Fair Skin: add +1 to their Charisma
7. Half Elf- Ambiguous: +1 to charisma, added chance of success, -1 to Endurance
8. Wood Elf- Forest walker: better success in forests
9. Infernal- Hot Blood: resistant to fire spells
10. Fey- Float: they float across the ground
11. Gnoll- Keen Senses: keen senses, plus to saves and luck.
12. Ogre- Strong: +1 to Strength
13. Troll- Resilient: +1 to Endurance
14. Undead- Dead: resistant to most physiological effects
15. Cat person- reflexes: +1 to Agility
16. Lizard man- Resilient; +1 to will power
17. Verman- a rat person: resistant to disease

*CHARACTER CLASSES
1. Fighter -STR(8)/ DEX(8)/ END(8)/ AGI(5)/ CHA(4)/ INT(4)/ WIS(4)/ WIL(1)
- Critical Hit- sometimes do lots of damage
- Parry- sometimes block attacks
- Flurry- unleash a bunch of attacks.

2. Paladin -STR(7)/ DEX(6)/ END(10)/ AGI(4)/ CHA(8)/ INT(6)/ WIS(7)/ WIL(4)
- Lay on Hands- partially heal anyone
- Cavalry Charge- ram into a player on your horse
- Bless- increases your resistance

3.Ranger -STR(6)/ DEX(9)/ END(7)/ AGI(9)/ CHA(7)/ INT(5)/ WIS(7)/ WIL(4)
- True shot- a much greater chance of hitting a target with an arrow
- Flame Arrow- ignite arrows and do more damage
- Sprint- Cover ground very quickly

4. Cleric -STR(6)/ DEX(6)/ END(8)/ AGI(5)/ CHA(10)/ INT(7)/ WIS(9)/ WIL(8)
- Heal- completely heal a person (must be touching the person)
- Heal bolt- a magical bolt that can partially cure someone from a distance
- Attack Undead- a magical attack that attacks the undead

5. Druid- STR(4)/ DEX(5)/ END(5)/ AGI(4)/ CHA(7)/ INT(8)/ WIS(10)/ WIL(10)
- Summon Wolf- summons a wolf companion
- Summon Bear- summons a bear companion
- Storm Fire- beam of fire

6. Wizard -STR(4)/ DEX(5)/ END(5)/ AGI(4)/ CHA(7)/ INT(10)/ WIS (7)/ WIL(10)
- Teleportation- teleport to another place
- Arcane Bolt- fires a magical missile
- Chain Lightning- hits a lot of targets with lightning

7. Thief- STR(6)/ DEX(10)/ END(7)/ AGI(9)/ CHA(3)/ INT(5)/ WIS(8)/ WIL(2)
- Pick Lock- opens doors and gates
- Pick pocket- steals items and money
- Stealth- move almost invisible

8. Bard -STR(5)/ DEX(8)/ END(7)/ AGI(8)/ CHA(10) INT(7)/ WIS (7)/ WIL(6)
- Song of Hypnosis- hypnotize some people
- Song of Mirth- increases allies success
- Song of Despair- decreases enemies success

- Magic Missile- fires a magic missile
- Summon Golem- summons a golem
- Summon Living Armour- armour that absorbs most magical and melee damage

- War cry- boots allies damage and endurance
- Intimidation- Can scare off some enemies sometimes
- Running- increases movement rate

- Dragon Palm- stun an enemy, depends on enemy
- Hurricane Kick- kick all enemies around you
- Mend- partially heal yourself

- Summon skeleton warrior- summons skeleton fighter

- De-summon- destroy a summoned creature

- Illusion- makes you appear to be something else

- smog- reduces targets eye sight and may cause damage
- Plague - creates a cloud of disease that damages all inside of it.
- Cripple- weakens an enemy.


*EMPIRE BUILDING*
Tanaran is divided into regions. Each region contains crowns. Finding these crows allows you to build small camps and eventually turn them into cities.

*Chieftains Crown - These allow you to build a camp. Camps contain about 6 tents, and 10 followers. Followers can do anything you wish from fighting to serving your meals.

*Leader's Crown - These allow you to build settlements. Settlements are bigger than camps and they add 10 more followers to your existing 10.

*Governor's Crown - They allow you to build a town. Towns are much bigger, grant you siege weapons and gives you 10 more followers to your existing 20.

*Duke's Crown - They allow you to build city. Cities are bigger than towns. Grants you siege defences, and adds 15 more followers to your existing 30.

*Lord's Crown - These allow you to build a castle. Castles are bigger than Cities and add 20 more followers to your existing 45.

*King's Crown- It allows you to build a Kingdom and adds 25 more followers to your existing 65. Once the kingdom is established, only another kingdom can fight against it. This is extremely hard to obtain.

You can only wage war if they have followers. You must have at least a camp in order to have followers. Infantry counts as one follower, Archers count as two followers, Cavalry counts as 3 followers and Siege weapons counts as four followers.

You cannot attack castles and Kingdoms without at least one Siege weapon in your army.

Here is the map courtesy of RSF. It is shrouded now but the more you explore, the more of it is revealed. When you talk to people and they give you information more will be uncovered. This map is ALOT better than the old one.

- Madness - messes up the surrounding people's vision, making them see in odd and constantly changing colors. Short range.

And a quick question: to what extent can I use those skills, esp. the first two?

Some background story:

Back when he was a young lad, alive and living in a small village, he was known as Monty Gonne. He hated his name. His hobby was "magic tricks" involving cards and whatnot. One day when he went to the city with his grandad, he saw a rather peculiar shop. He went there and saw all sorts of strange items, and decided to buy a rather pretty looking red gem. After a longer stroll around the city, when he returned to that spot, the shop wasn't there.
Monty soon forgot about the disappearing shop and the gem though.
One day, a band of barbarians raided his home village. In hopes that they wouldn't kill him, he decided to hide his valuables where they wouldn't look. And so he swallowed a few gold coins and a rather pretty red gem he found under the bed the other day. Then he left his house, hoping to stealthily leave the village, but he ran into one of the rogues, who killed him immediately.

Several days later, Monty woke up. Charred corpses were lying everywhere, and the houses were burned down too. Searching for anything valuable the barbarians might have left behind, he found a broken mirror. He was almost completely bald, and his skin was very pale. Then it hit him. He put his hand on his chest. There was no heart beat. I'm dead, he thought, and sat down. Everybody he ever knew, dead. Everything he ever had, burned or stolen. He sat there in shock for almost a whole day, and decided that he can't sit there forever.
He took on the name of Irr and decided to study the arts of illusion. Card tricks were stupid. Now, nothing stood in the way of learning the real thing.
After several years he could make people think he looked different than he really did, and some other really useful things. This was not enough for Irr, however. In his search for power, he ended up in Tanaran, although he doesn't quite remember how.
His look of choice is a blond-haired young man in a red coat.

Mark of Doom: Soils the Ground Damaging non-cultists.
Doom: Curses a unit, damaging it over time. When the foe dies a Pitlord is summoned(Doom cannot be dispelled)(This effect cannot be cast on victims with a strong mind, or undead)

I can summon Buildings and Familiars.(Both effects get stronger with time)

I sacrifice "gold" and "wood" and the likes to Dark Gods, so that i can "summon" buildings... The difference between summoning and building is that i can do it alone. But it'll still cost me a big bundle..

- Insomniac energy- Before a battle, or when he has adrenaline, Hurt does not need sleep, but the thought of war fuels him.

Background:
Hurt grew up in a large barbarian tribe, lead by merciless chieftain named Kilmo. Hurt was the chiefs son, and a respected figure of authority.
Their tribe was matched by no other, always nomadic, always on the hunt for food and gold. They were the largest and most powerful in the entire Desert, and infamous because for it.
However, the Kilmo tribe may have been generally well known, but was definitely hated by all, especially other barbarians. Barbarians who did not belong to a tribe would rather die before they would join the Kilmo tribe, usually because Kilmo had made himself worthy of despise from everyone in some way or another. But for this reason, their ranks would never swell. As time grew on, old veterans would die. No tribe can stay on top forever.
Hurt was born into the highest point of thier glory, and watched them sink into demise.

One day the Kilmo tribe sent a skirmish to finish of the remains of a starved out Argo tribe, among which was Hurt. They sent only a handful of barbarians, but that was also a large part of their tribe.
After finishing off the other ogres who were starving to death, they headed home again.

When they reached there, the land was scorched with fire and blood- all the camps ravaged, all possessions taken, most barbarians dead or dying, and a band of Militia tying up the remaining barbarians. Kilmo lay on the charred remains of his tent, blood gushing through his fingers which tried in vain to hold together his gashed throat. Hurt dropped to his knees and screamed in utter devastation.

Seeing the recent arrivals, the shattered skirmish was taken by the Militia with little resistance.
They took the survivors back to the human Tanaran city.

The age of Kilmo had come to an end.
The age of Hurt, was just beginning.

Character Abilities:
- Banshee Wail- Screams as loud as possible at a special frequency to stun enemies so she can escape or move in for the kill
- Fly- Being a demon, she has large leathery wings that enable her to fly.

Background Story:
Detestra is the second born child of Duke Karnassus of Fester. Not being particular astute at magic, her energies went into her music where she found her true talent.
After numerous attempts at killing her older brother failed she realised she would never inherit her father's realm.
She left her father's castleto strike out on her own and carve out hr own niche in the world.
After hearing tales of a new land discovered she decided to make her way to this 'Tanaran' to see what she could make of it.
It wasn't easy.
Being an infernal, people were inclined to loose arrows first, ask questions later. It was during her travels to Tanaran that she honed her charisma (now they ask questions first, then it's too late for the arrows) skills and found her unique talents made her very well suited for combat.
Along for the ride is her feline companion Yowl, a rare breed of Hellcat known for their intelligence, and the ability to communicate telepathically.

Wow what a support!

Ok to answer some questions...

Lord Woock: You can use your skills as much as you deem fit but you will have to limit them, especially Charm. Most times i will decide whether it will work or not depending on the situation.

RealDeal: Everyone has to use the pre defined races and classes. You cannot create your own.

Shadow: Yes you can add your own skills and they are acceptable.

Everyone else your characters are great. Alot more variety than the last time. You can make your first post as soon as you want to.

- Reverse Pain- inflict your pain on others
- Black Winds- sends a sharp wind that scars enemies
- Summon Bonegolem- Summons a BoneGolem
- Unholy Spirit - Gives a ? % chance that attacks miss.

Story: Chris Goodwise was a noble fey until the 2nd war of the Air portals. Chris Was abandoned by his allies and killed, until a Necromancer raised him as a Deathknight, Chris didn't know about his past so he became the DeathKnight MentalGore, not knowing what had happened to him. Now The Undead Fey DeathKnight walks the land in search of more.. He quickly got the nickname The Doom Fairy.

Question: Is it okay that i remade a skill, summon skell warrior to summon bonegolem?

Class: Mage slayer -STR(7)/ DEX(7)/ END(7)/ AGI(7)/ CHA(6)/ INT(8)/ WIS(8)/ WIL(8)
- De-summon- destroy a summoned creature
- Witch Slayer- attacks do more damage to magic user
- Magic Resistant- almost immune to magic
Items: A longsword that can absorb magical spells,
Longbow w/a quiver of arrows too
Background: An unknown wanderer that was thrown out of his homeland for unknown reasons. Prefer's keeping to himself and minding his own business too.

Is this acceptable?
