Command & Conquer: Generals
I personally love this game. Anyone else play it?
My buddy and I are fairly unstopable in a 2v2 match.
Set in modern times, or close to it at least. I'll get some screenshots tomorrow. Just wanted to throw this out tonight.

I Liked It
For anyone who hasn't played this game, you gotta try the terrorists! I only play this game to hear them with their little sayings.
Builders say: "Can I have some shoes? Ow, ok ok I will work."
The portable scud launchers say something like: "Something for the masses."
The suicide bombers say: "I know people there!"
The little terrorist troops say: "We have a network!"
I absolutely lose every game from laughing so hard at the little phrases being shouted. But I love this game because it makes me laugh. Whoever reads this, you have to play the G.L.A.(terrorists) at least once. It's hilarious!

I like the Chinese and Americans the best.
I play the Zero Hour expansion, so there are new parts to it. 3 generals to play as for each faction.
Super Weapon General is one of my favorites, unfortunately it's so powerful that rarely will someone play with you on the net.

LOL In Zero Hour expansion, you can research worker shoes in order to increase productivity Kinda makes me feel sad for the little GLA builders when China and USA got bulldozers!

Yes, but GLA workers can drive trucks and tanks when Jarmen Kell shoots the driver, USA and China's bulldozers can't. 
I play Zero Hour myself. I never really played the original Generals, I bought both at the same time.

CNC Generals was fun, for a time being. Then, it got boring, so I've stopped playing it. Haven't played it since April. My fav team is GLA, with their angry mobs and rocket buggies.

Did you play online though? I play with a group of friends and random people, so we can relive the battles the next day. That makes it more fun.

I did play amongst my friendz. It was more fun that way. My mobs, rocket buggoes and quad cannons owned. I do get furious, though, when some sneaky Colonel climbs a cliff into my base and plants bombs all over my buildings when im attacking some1 else

You need to make more radar vans and put rebels in your base. The radar vans will detect him, and the rebels can kill him.
It took me a little while to develop some strategies for keeping Col. Burton, Jarmen Kell, Lotus out of my base. It's fairly annoying when your Alpha Auroras take off and destroy your base to get at Burton. He did end up dead in that instance, but so did my tanks.

I surely know them... I have an original C&C Generals CD (and Zero Hour) 
Yep, I played with the GLA too, but not, because of their shouts, but because they're unstoppable in a RUSH! Want to win in 5 minutes - possible.
You need:
about 15 workers
keyboard building system (for me - only on ZH)
about 5-7 quad cannons
They're unstoppable! even if they are weak at a close combat with tanks, they can still beat them fairly easily when their ranks cooperate...
I use something similar, only there are some minor changes...
I often win against 4 Hard (ZH difficulty) opponents, and I beat my friends quite easily. However these tactics AREN'T USEFUL if you use them when playing against co-operative forces.

demolition general rules and rocket buggee is the bomb(hit and run)against turrets,tanks, buildings,etc and if you give them antiaircraft support they're unstoppable.

The best generals are either the US Super Weapons or China's Nuke. With SW if you get a nice foothold then you can cane everyone without leaving your base (I'm not a fan of micromanagement in RTS games). With Nuke you get a few overlords (some with turrets, some with speaker towers) and they can drive around the map healing each other and destroying anything in their path.
