How about bringing back HOMM3 lizards to HOMM5?

To tell you the truth, I became really crazy about lizards in Heroes 3, and guess it's gonna be great to bring them back to Heroes 5 (with some changes, of course).

Let's see how it looks: (Details by HOMM4)

- Varanus lizard: (requires Hatchery)

- Venomous snake: (requires Snake Nest)

Attack: 16
Defense: 4
Hit points: 10
Damage: 3-5
Speed: 8
Special:
-Venomous bite - 50% chance to cause extra 3-5 damage per creature.
-First strike

Description: they're very dangerous at attack but very poor for defense and can be easily killed.
--------------------------------------------------------

Special:
-Paralyse

Description: their paralysing skill makes them effective in combat.
--------------------------------------------------------

3rd level creatures

- Venom spitter: (requires Scrub)

Attack: 18
Defense: 16
Hit points: 45
Damage: 10-15
Speed: 6
Special: - Venomous spit: 50% chance to cause extra 10-15 damage per creature.

OK proposal, but I see here what I see a lot of places (including homm3), which I don't like:
The basilisk is not good enough. We're talking about one of the most feared of all mythological units here. Everything it looks at dies. This should in fact be the most powerful of all units. Also not that it is not a swamp unit, it lives in the desert.

Basilisk

You're right.

Well, how does a basilisk look like in your opinion?

In my opinion, the basilisk looks like the homm3 basilisk, just whitout the legs, and much larger, maybe a more cobraish head, since the ones who believed in it long ago had it inspired by the king cobra.

But this topic is not about my thoughts of the basilisk, it's about the lizard proposal.

Do you think a Triceratops with its 6 tonnes weight and 9 meters length armed with 1,5-2 meters long horns does not fit highest level at Fortress? Well, its charge could blow over a school bus!!

How about recruiting 10 of these?

However, the triceratops idea comes from the Heroes III's Mighty Gorgons. But I guess reptilic bulls with deadly breath is not such a good thing. That's why I found out triceratops.

just kiddin around

You should replace the triceratops with Barabumbosaurus.
Triceratops is very powerful, especially if the enemy comes on the battlefield in schoolbuses. If they do so they are doomed.

I didnt say that I dont like dinos, in fact I love them. besides I wouldn't have used this evil word for this georgeous creatures
Well, I just dont think that a Triceratops fits in a Swamp town (that's waht the fortress is). Raptor is ok, at least it fits better then triguy here.

What about Some Swamp-Slime Monster or sth? With Swamp-Gas breath as spec?
Sth in this direction

Well a triceratops couldn't survive in a swamp - too heavy a creature, it would sink. I think scientists have deduced that it would live on savannah plains. Plus, we already got the Hydra as the BIG BAD.
A raptor is ok, I could imagine a raptor patrolling the edge of a swamp.

Best reptiles for swamp are snakes and lizards.

There's some good ideas up there, and it's not easy coming up with your own unique ideas, but the dinos should be changed.  You don't necessarily have to change anything else but there names and maybe how you want them to look.
